Just told a provider "substances" was a no-go for me

I was really, really into him, but then he sent his "Booking Guidelines," which included this:

"First-time meetings may require verification or deposit (10-20%)"

And then this:

"Happy to procure most substances you would like to indulge and/or cut loose with."

I had to walk away. Would you have too?

I think the vast (and I do mean vast) majority of the members of this forum would.  Deposit is bad enough, but providing “substances,” too as that old saying goes, is “a little too much sugar for a dime!”

I would have asked is it verification OR deposit, or verification AND deposit. Because those are two different sets of options. I personally have no issue verifying via video call or something. So if they were giving you the choice between verify or deposit, then you opted out without even making a choice (assuming the main thing you were trying to avoid was just the deposit part).

As far as the drugs, i personally would have just said "no I'm not interested in any drugs, no need for that and i'd prefer you not be on anything during the session". If they resisted to that at all then yes i'd walk away. But just the mere offer or seeing "PNP available" on their profile isn't inherently an issue to me. No provider I've hired who procures or sells has had an issue with keeping that stuff away from me if i simply asked and none i've hired have ever brought it without me asking.

Even those who dabble themselves have never come to a session with me on something and especially don't if i specifically ask them not to. I don't really care what they do in their other personal time or with other clients.

I'd have at least asked a follow up question. But that's just me and has been my experience 🤷‍♂️

The really annoying thing about this particular request for a deposit (which I never do) is that his ad had expired, and I had just paid the $30 or whatever to reinstate his profile.

Then he asks me for a deposit!

(And offers drugs...)

If he is offering drugs and you are presumably paying for them, then that makes him a drug dealer, no?

I wouldn’t be caught dead with a drug dealer in any situation.

A very MATURE way to deal with the issues.  People get all out of sorts with just the idea a person might enjoy things they don't.

A provider who is dealing or taking them is showing that he is willing to partake in risky behavior. Stay far, far away.

And while alcohol can be just as dangerous, it is at least legal in moderation.

I realize this whole hobby may be illegal in the US, but that doesn't mean we should combine it with illegal mind-altering substances.

It's so easy to be swept away by imagery in profiles, we can sometimes forget to read the fine print. Or any print. Read the words, and you can make better choices, just like our OP here did!

Yeesh, a deposit is usually sent to show you're serious about meeting. You would think the fact you just spent money on him to renew his membership would be enough.

Yes for me.  The combination of deposit and drug alone is a double jeopardy already.

And now he's asking for more after you paid for his reactivation fee.  That's 3 strikes and he's out for good.
