Palm Springs Friday before the Meeting in April
+ purplekow replied to + purplekow's topic in The Lounge
Thanks to the 25 to 30 people who attended the meet and greet on Friday. I felt more like a guest than a host as some of you probably noted. Still, I think things worked out really well. Food was sufficient and there were naked men in the pool in the spa and on the patio. The well dressed formed a conversation circle in the living room leaving plenty of room for those passing by the food and drinks. I appreciate all of you who came out and left me with little in the way of left overs. I would definitely consider doing it again next year should Oliver decide to continue this into the 26th year and David SF decides to remain in retirement from hosting. If any of you should return to PS give me a heads up and we will have a meal or a swim or a slap and tickle. -

I would like to thank Azdr for his help in preparing my house for visitors. I am pretty laid back about things like clutter and floors, but he is definitely fastidious in these regards. So, although it is not 100%, it is inhabitable for the afternoon. The pool is up to 83 degrees and the small spa will be at 98 with bubbles. Even if you have not sent an RSVP, you are welcome to come between 1 and probably 7 or when the last person leaves. I do not think it will be a huge crowd, probably 20 to 25 if we get all the persons who expressed interest to show. Dress is optional, black tie to white ass well any color ass. See some of you tomorrow. -
Attention! – Annual Palm Springs Weekend, 2026
+ purplekow replied to + Oliver's topic in The Lounge
By the way, it is a perfect night here in PS with the temperature about 75 with a warm breeze. Was sitting outside and the only item of note out of place were the planes diving into PS airport. I grew up in a neighborhood which was about 1 mile from Kennedy Airport and the landing lights of the planes would come in through my attic/bedroom window. Would scare the hell out of first time visitors staying over. So, with that history the airplanes coming in, miuch quieter than they were in NYC, is a memory of my youth, but I would still prefer silence. There were only about eight and the noise lasts less than 20 seconds. -

Well there is that. I look forward to seeing you on Friday. I am still cleaning up the house but the back yard seems to be in order. -

Temps in the low 90s today. Hoping that predicted changes hold off until after the week end. -
That Uber ride back and forth going to be more expensive than the massage, probably by quite a bit. So if budget is a problem, factor that in.

More like, what happens in Palm Springs stays in Palm Springs until the next year when people laugh about it and recall the good times. -

It seems the cool weather is coming in at an inopportune time for the forum members. The weather has been in the low 90s for this week and it was perfect pool and tanning weather. Seems starting Friday with a slight drop into the low 80s it will continue to cool off including Sunday so the pool may not get much use but I am sure other things will keep us occupied. -
I just do not think it has jumped the shark yet, but I believe the best shows are the ones in which an unexpected reveal from their living lives catches you by surprise. I agree that some things, like Thor's love of talking about decapitating Danes has gotten tiresome. Move on. Think it would be interesting if it turns out he was not abandoned. Perhaps he discovered that his wife had been unfaithful and that he chose not to return home. That he built a life alone or maybe not alone before dying.

Just in case you are in two minds about coming. Check out the rentmen section for Palm Springs. Heavy influx of very hot looking men related to Cochella no doubt. I can vouch for some personally and there are a few I would like to add to that list. -
Sam, this is a show about a woman and now also a man who can see ghosts after having had head trauma. The ghosts are needy and constantly raising personal issues which always seem to take priority. The whole premise is "dumb". Either you buy into the characters and their antics, or you do not. Your tolerance for the premise may have waned, but the show is not any dumber than it ever was. I do see where you may think the writers are mailing it in. They are expanding the universe of ghosts which is probably a mistake. You need to care about the ghosts to care about their issues. Bringing in more ghosts only creates a new ghost problem of the week.

Wow. It seems that being concerned about his age should be the least of it with the other details you mention. As for a moral compass, you know what they say about first stone throwers. I am very confident in my moral compass and do not need your concern in that regard or likely any other.

Wow an escort fudging on his age. Alert the media. I, for one, could not care less about the age, as long as it is more than 18.

There are rare cases in which an HIV positive patient seroconverts to HIV negative. These are usually related to stem cell transplants for other conditions.

This was a typo. It should read, He will top, though that is not an activity I can comment on. He has not bottomed for me and when asked he said that is NOT something he does.

Discussion: Stop Slander:Rejected Clients Smearing Providers
+ purplekow replied to JacOB SESSION's topic in The Deli
As an aside, a fellow forum member and I were driving and looking for a place to eat. We went into a small breakfast and lunch place, which turned out to be a training restaurant for differently abled young people being taught how to properly do service jobs. They were supervised carefully and it turned out to be a unique and moving experience. While we were seated, we decided to look at the reviews on Yelp. As I recall, there were all 5 star reviews and one 1 star review. We discussed how incredulous we were at someone reviewing this restaurant with that kind of critical evaluation. We searched for the negative review and the essence of the review was that the reviewer had come to the restaurant and it was after hours and closed. That was it. The person had not eaten at the restaurant at all. Whenever I see a bad review on here, I consider it but I also realize that the reviewer may have an agenda that is not in keeping with mine and that other positive reviewers need to be weighed against the negative outlier, if indeed it is an outlier.- 70 replies

Going back when there was a daily review column, Daddy would takes weeks investigating bad reviews and would not post one until such time as he had spoken to the escort and the reviewer. I do not know what criteria he used, but slanderous reviews were a minor problem back then. So the controls may be tightened but it is a matter of whether this is a big enough problem to warrant the time and energy needed to review the reviews before posting the reviews.- 70 replies

Protocol for hook up apps. Meet somewhere outside your home, even if it is just outside of you home. Tell him to meet you there and do not say that is where you live. No one that even remotely looks underage should be engaged. The risk is all on you even if they are being the one driving the action. No payment up front. The more they request it, the more likely they are not going to keep the deal but they will keep the money. In any dicey situation, casually mention your son the cop. Early on and as an aside is better. Something like, are you a cop, because you remind me of my son who is a cop, perhaps you know him. Deep kiss early on and before you get to the place you are using. If they balk at that, just say you are not feeling it and leave. I have only been taken advantage of once and that was while I was on vacation in Vegas. Was an upsell, more cash for more astivities. I since have specified with new providers that I do not do a la carte.

A (I'm Presuming) Former Escort Contacted Me ...

Marilu Henner of Taxi fame and also Evening Shade with Burt Reynolds, is one of a small number of people who are able to recall every detail of their life in vivid detail down to the date, what the other people were wearing and what was said. Now I first learned of this when she was on a talk show and she told the interviewer this. The interviewer picked out a random date and she was embarrassed and then related that was the date she lost her virginity. The would be a memorable date for most and in this case more so as the date was July 20 1969. I have very vivid memories of that date as it was the date of the first moon landing (for those who believe that we did actually land on the moon). So I was not particularly impressed. Several years later, she was interviewed on 60 minutes and related that from that interview, she was contacted by about 5 people who had the same ability and together they were being studied at a major university. It is clear known that the strength of a memory is related somewhat to adrenalin and dopamine and that is why particularly emotional events are remembered very vividly. Most of us of a certain age can recall where we were on 9/11 or, if you are of a certain age, on November 23 1963 and many of the details surrounding it. Yet few can recall what we did on 9/10 or November 19, 1963.
