Why do most RM provider profiles list “daddy” in their “into” list?  Is it a set of appealing physical characteristics, a set of desireable behaviors, or something else entirely?  What say you?

A topic near and dear to my heart. LOL I love a daddy, though some days I feel more like a granddaddy myself. 😂 Why providers list it, I can’t say. For me, whether as a client or in my personal life, a daddy is a mix of both. Sure, the physical presence is appealing, but what really resonates is the behavior: that grounded blend of authority, steadiness, and care. Age can play a role, but for me it’s more about the energy someone brings into the dynamic.

Daddies are warm, caring, gentle, established, confident, supportive, experienced, fun, adventurous…what’s not to like?

Sound like most the losers you meet in WeHo on a Friday night?

No?…..that’s the point.

Short, succinct. And serious. Again.

If you're talking solely about escorts, I'd say that including "daddies" in their preferences section is smart if they don't discriminate against clients based on age.  Some older clients are going to use this as a filter so they only see ads from guys who clearly won't make their age an issue.  It's the same thing with "bears."  Maybe a provider isn't that interested in having sex with bears or daddies on his own time, but if he welcomes bears or daddies as clients it's smart for him to indicate that so his ad doesn't get omitted from search results if a client uses either of those as a filter.  Of course I'm sure there are some providers who truly have a thing for daddies -- I have a friend who has always preferred men old enough to be his dad and has even hooked up with some guys old enough to be his grandfather, so I know that there are some men who really are into men significantly older than they are.

Just my experience. The vast majority of the young guys I've been with (hired or hookups) are "too much enthusiasm, too little essence". I don't discard younger guys, but I scrutinize them more when hiring or hooking up, even now when I am their "daddy".

The rest of the daddy thing I just see as a preference the same way that some prefer certain physical attributes or activities.

It's not necessarily appeal. It's good business. "Into" in an escort profile is not always going to reveal personal appeals the way it would in a personal hookup profile. They list a lot of things.

I say the average age of clients is higher than the average age of providers. By indicating that they're happy to meet with a type of client demographic that skews older, providers are improving the odds that more potential clients will feel they'll be welcome.

Repeat hire depends on  how appealing the client has been made to feel  during the session.

There once was a daddy so wise,

Whose charm lit the stars in young eyes,

With guidance and flair,

And a confident air,

He taught them that age is a  prize.

This evening, I had FaceTime calls with two young men with whom I’ve shared a bed - multiple times - having met through RM.  One call was to “catch up” and another hour long call was to talk about his new job and to give some career advice.  Both calls were spontaneous, so I didn’t bother putting on a shirt (but nothing “else” was in view.   As we talked, i realized two things:

- these were spontaneous interactions purely to benefit them in sharing of wisdom and perspective (I’m 62 and kinda retired from a successful career), and

- as I saw my reflection in the FaceTime camera, I was thinking (after 4 yrs of regular workouts) -  “hey, you’re not so tough on the eyes without a shirt”

I bristle when I’m called “daddy” because that’s a name reserved for my two adult children.   But I’m coming to see that it does extol certain virtues benefitting younger men besides simply an exchange of body fluids

If 'Daddies' is listed on an escort preference list, I just assumed it was part of the escort's marketing saying he wasn't only into young or in-shape guys-whatever the escort's actual feelings on the matter. That's not to say some 'Daddies' might not be athletic/fit. There's always DILF Daddies. But I'm going to assume unless the escort's preferences skew far away from the norm that they are not going to have problems performing with a gym fit DILF.

Unfortunately there aren't enough guys like this. On the other hand, I wouldn't have been interested in someone that age when I was younger.

i remember when I was about 21 or 22, I went to summer school at the University of Texas at Austin.  I was staying in the dorm for 6 weeks. At the same time we were in school, the university was holding some kind of elder hostel-enrichment type classes for older people. I don't know exactly how old this elder hostel participant was. All I remember was he was totally white-haired so possibly in his 50 to 60's. But they had him rooming with an 18 to 20 year old-an acquaintance of mine. I was a bit older, but I remember thinking at the time  it was kind of creepy. I actually still think it is. The university should never have housed a middle-aged guy with a young college student possibly away from home for the first time.

I agree.  It is indeed creepy.  I would imagine the parents wouldn’t be too happy about it either.

I wonder if it just seems creepy to us as gay men.  I can imagine that whoever made this decision back then simply didn't even think about whether either the younger or older men were gay, so to them it just seemed like two men sharing sleeping quarters with no notion that sexual attraction/attention would enter the picture.

I agree.  I've had dozens of times when I was younger and shared a room with an older man or men as a chaperone.  YMCA Indian Guides camping trips, Boy Scout camping trips, elementary school camping trips, high school camping trips, university camping trips, workplace camping trips, trips with my older neighbor.  These men were are all several decades older than me, often age 60+.  No big deal.

No I think I recall the probably straight teen or near teen being weirded out by the situation too. Or at least several of us in our group found it weird.  In fact I think if we had been gay-or if I had been out and accepting (hadn't admitted it to myself at the time); we wouldn't my have been as freaked out by the situation.
