viewing ownly
"I will not accept checks". I don't want to embarrass the person who put that, because he was not joking. He is of the age where once upon a time, he may have waited for someone to write down his fee from their check register before tearing it off, having put an "xoxo" in the memo space. Did anyone see men in the Frontiers days and pay by check? My grandmother humiliated me in the 70s by attempting to treat me to Carl's Jr., ordering then busting out her checkbook and getting into a heated argument with the manager when he told her that they were cash only. She did not get out much. Any time I would go there and see a big huge "NO CHECKS" sign, I had a hunch I knew of it's origin! Becket
rvwnsd
23 minutes ago, viewing ownly said: "I will not accept checks"... Oh, how cute! I've never paid a provider using a check. Before we had CashApp and Venmo I always paid cash. Even now, I ask whether the guy wants cash or CashApp/Venmo.
+ poolboy48220
early in my hiring career I tipped an escort with a check - I only had enough cash for the agreed fee, and he deserved more. + Vegas_Millennial, BSR and + KensingtonHomo 1 1

MikeBiDude
About 30 years ago I had a regular porn performer/escort, who showed me a check made out to him from well known celebrity. He never cashed it, he kept it as a souvenir. I won’t mention names, but this particular celebrity wasn’t known for being DL/discreet 🤣 But personally I’ve never used a check, 99.99% cash, the exception being the last year or two sometimes using Venmo/CashApp at provider’s request. + Vegas_Millennial and + Pensant 1
Rudynate
There are so many things wrong with paying a guy by check, from either viewpoint, that I won't try to go into it. I paid by Venmo once. Otherwise, always cash. + sync
+ Charlie
I wonder whether the escort who wrote the ad has ever been offered a check in payment for his services--he may be pretty inexperienced at this trade.
+ purplekow
I have paid by check. Only to escorts I know well and they have no difficulty accepting it. Usually it is as a result of my not having had time to go to the bank. I usually add a bit of a service fee to their fee for the inconvenience, but it really does not seem to bother them. At this point in my life, I am not concerned about the paper trail. Becket, + Charlie, + Vegas_Millennial and 1 other 1 1

Luv2play
I’ve never paid a provider by cheque (Canadian spelling) but keep my cheque book handy for large payments. I like to pay my income taxes with one, my municipal taxes and donations to charities when they are in the 4 figures. These latter get tax receipts in exchange. Years ago I used my cheques for many payments and every couple of years needed to get a new set of books. Now I expect my current cheques to last the rest of my life since so many payments are either automatically deducted from my bank account or I pay online. + Charlie

rojjodc
And now you can deposit checks with a smartphone app for many banks without going to the bank. And a certified/cashier's check is considered as good as cash. I could possibly see accepting a cashier/certified check option for an overnight or offering to pay the provider to your city and having a weekender. I would expect that you and the provider have a good relationship, and you have lots of money. Sometimes having lots of cash is as much a risk to you as you might misplace some of it. When I moved about 4 years ago, the moving company insisted on a cash payment (I believe that is mostly a custom even now), so I went to the bank and took at the $1500 in 100 bills to pay. Then when I counted it a few days later, it was only $1400. I have no idea what happened to the $100, but that's why I hate carrying around a lot of cash. Thelatin
I’ve had younger renters come to my office with a check book and their mother more than once. I’ve had to explain how to write a check while their embarrassed mother looked on. Becket, TorontoDrew and + DrownedBoy 1
