Mainly the aesthetic. They have to be longish mid way between ankle and knee, the right colour and enhance the calves. I’ve got large calves which the socks enhance. It’s all about the details 😂

Not necessarily.  They might be giving the people what they want. I'd be happier with a slightly balding guy in a baseball cap than a bald guy.

For the same reason, it’s better to top than bottom when having sex in the sun.

Why is that?  One would think it would depend on the position.  In reverse cowboy 🤠, the bottom is exposed to the sun while the top is shaded by the bottom's body.  In doggie 🐕 (my favorite!), the bottom could be protected from the sun if the top's back is facing the sun which puts the bottom in the shade.
