+ purplekow Posted July 24 Posted July 24 I was driving a friend to the airport this morning when he mentioned he had met a great looking guy on Sniffies and that they had sex for the first time last night and the sex was the best he has had in years. This man has sex with great regularity, so this was quite a recommendation. I congratulated him on finding both a good looking man who was also great in bed. He then told me that he like this man very much even before the sex. Afterwards, they were having a general conversation and the man revealed was he did for a living. I will not say what the profession was as the actual profession would likely get this removed for being political, but I was FROSTY about his desire to continue to see the man. I was not sure I would find him NICE even if he seemed superficially pleasant. So would you continue to see a man you liked, who was good looking and with whom you had great sex or would you stop because his profession left you COLD? + Charlie 1

It would take a lot for a profession to have that kind of impact on me as you describe. A profession is simply a means to earn income. If I liked him and we were compatible, I'd probably continue to see him. Of course, we all have a line we won't cross. + Vegas_Millennial and + Charlie 1 1

EZEtoGRU Posted July 25 Posted July 25 If it’s just for a quick romp in the hay, I wouldn’t care about the profession really. If it’s going to be more of a romantic relationship type thing then I would have to have respect for the profession and his general beliefs. For instance, I couldn’t be in a relationship with someone that has diametrically opposing (insert topic we can’t discuss here) beliefs to mine. That’s just a recipe for failure. + Charlie and + Just Sayin 1 1

+ Charlie Posted July 26 Posted July 26 This is a hard question to answer, since the profession is not the only non-sexual aspect of an individual. Just as I would not reject someone as a friend just because he sells his body for sexual activity even if he is is disgusted by the buyer, I would not refuse to have sex with someone I am physically attracted to solely because he also practices another profession that I find repugnant for some reason. Most of us have friends who have some religious or political belief or practice that we do not agree with, yet we accept the totality of the person as a friend anyway; the real question is how strongly we feel about the person's profession or belief as a disqualification for friendship. No matter how sexually attractive a person appears to me, I would find it difficult to have sex with him if I knew that he practiced a profession that I considered truly immoral, especially if he did not not consider it immoral at all (or even worse, if he did consider it immoral, and didn't care). When we insist that everyone we interact with practice or believe exactly as we do, then we are reduced to being members of a cult. thomas, + Vegas_Millennial and Nue2thegame 2 1
BigDMike Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Hot sex is great and all, but if other aspects go directly against my own morals and acceptable behavior or beliefs, I’d start shopping for a new dick. I think finding the right guy is more important. Alternatively if I like a guy and sex is terrible, I’d likely start shopping then too + Charlie 1

I think you can mention the profession as pertinent to this discussion, as long as we don’t get into arguments about why that profession is so “evil.” I’m a bit baffled as to what profession could be so offensive. I might disagree with a person’s politics but still find him to be a good person despite being WRONG about everything. There’s a CNN political analyst I can’t bear to listen to but so many people on my side of the aisle are friends with him that I’m convinced he’s gotta be a good guy. A previous post mentions gay conversion therapy, definitely a “yikes” for me. Work with any political organization that commits or supports violence is also a no-go. But just having (very) different politics from mine? Pfft, if the guy’s got a nice furry butt, politics? what politics?? + Charlie 1
+ PhileasFogg Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) If the person or the personal chemistry is awesome and you’re focusing on what they do, then this is prejudice at the highest level. The reaction is not about the job, but about YOUR reaction to it. I’m in PTown right now with a young man I met on sniffies last year. We have been regularly meeting for overnights since December and throughly enjoy each others’ company regularly. This is our first trip together, we’ve had the best sex ever, and we are planning our next one….probably to PS in March. This is no sugar daddy arrangement - he actually refuses to accept anything from me and told me that on our first meeting His appearance is punk - unlike the sweet yuppie twinkish vibe you’ve seen me with in PS. He is the sweetest, most tender, genuine young man I’ve encountered of the many I’ve spent time with despite the external facade that would be stereotyped differently. If I’d judged him on his appearance, I would have shorted myself 9 months of awesome encounters. Edited 7 hours ago by PhileasFogg MikeBiDude, BigDMike, + JamesB and 1 other 4

I don't really see any reason not to disclose the profession, but based on the clues available, they seem to point fairly strongly toward the person being an ICE agent.
