What percentage of RM pique your interest?

When you seach rentmen.com in your town,  how selective are you? Is it a buffet for you, and you want to try one of everything? Or do you put on a bunch of filters, and still are happy to find one or two you'd be interested in hiring. Or somewhere in the middle? 

 

Im in the "lucky to find one or two" group. I'm wondering if its because Im bi/leaning straight and just not into most guys, or if this is normal for all guys. And did this change for you over time?

I find that RM has mostly big muscular guys who offer to FUCK YOU HARD or little fem twinks who look anorexic. 

My tastes lie somewhere in the middle - I am much more attracted to lean boy next door guys, and I like guys who are in early 30s not 21.  These types seem to be the diamonds in the rough on RM. 

I am also bi so maybe we are similar in flavor preference.

New Orleans (my closest market) is a magnet for hustlers and meth heads. Couple that with preferring twink profiles and pickings are thin (except for a couple of exceptions like FTM AngelaGabe) unless there’s an occasional traveler.  So, I import talent for weekends there or go to them. 

So, I use filters extensively

See, I’m physically attracted to a wide variety of men (100% gay here), but once you factor in things like if/where a guy can host, availability, what is this guy into or not into, what is his status, how much he charges, etc, the number goes down from being attracted to like 40% of RMs to maybe 5% in my city I could feasibly see.

Despite being in NYC, which has a pretty big market, 15-20 percent has some appeal to me. As @NYXboy noted, I'm generally into older providers (30s and 40s). I'm not into twinks or guys who are selling their muscles as opposed to their skills, personality and emotional intelligence. I have a preference (though exceptions are made) for men who are 6' and taller. So that does lead to using filters and having to go through a lot of guys to find ones that really appeal to me.

I mostly hire escorts only when I am traveling.

Depending on the market, I may only find one or two people in my specific area who pique my interest.

Miami, LA or London are normally the largest selection of the type of fit/athletic types who I enjoy. 

NYC is of course, the best selection. But generally speaking I am more inclined toward massage services when I am in my hometown.

I DO like to browse, so I would say in the major markets including NYC I am interested in 10% to 15% of the choices. If I am really bored and horny, I will broaden my interests into a little older than I normally go for, or a little less muscle. In a smaller market, like the Carolinas I may only find ONE provider out of the entire county ( and sometime, I come up empty )

Funnily enough, we're headed to the Carolinas, and the pickings are SLIM, though I'm sure some of it is holiday-related.

Charleston SC or Asheville NC are pretty much your only destinations in the Carolina's with any selection of handsome company (whether escort or massage).

I end up in Greensboro, NC a couple times a year and it's really hit or miss and that's with guys driving all the way from Charlotte.

It’s probably like walking down a crowded street only about 20% of the men are probably going to catch your eye physically.  I would imagine then research is done on RM to see if they are the type of provider they want.  Question for the community are u searching for Tops, bottoms or vers, which do u prefer ?

RM is most un-interesting these days, which is probably why I only hire every 6 months or so. But that's where I go to find a provider. As for visuals and browsing, the local Bass Pro Shop is far superior. 😜

I am in the Philadelphia area. As a bi/gay guy just coming out to myself, I thought I could sample one of each, for years to come. Now, just a few months later, I am thinking is this all there is? I might have to go to NYC to get my needs met. It shows how reality sets in, when you really read the providers RM accounts and do a little research on them, most do NOT pass mu sniff test. And I LOVE all types of men!

Thank for the tip. I have been wanting to travel more, now that I’m retired. I will definitely check out sniffies on the gulf coast. Btw: I am finding Texas RM providers be very enticing! Especially several in Houston! I think I might book a trip to Texas this summer!

I pay subscriptions to slide left so much I can’t keep my balance, yet I wouldn’t mind not being able to walk straight once in a while.

Maybe 5% grab my attention; 15% after applying filters. I too have been finding Austin enticing. When I’m at my place near Seattle, I make trips to Vancouver, where the selection is far superior to Seattle.

Initially, I would say 20 % grap my attention. After looking closely and doing research it goes down to 5%. Austin does have its fair share of attractive providers. Thanks for the tip on Vancouver. I didn’t occur to me, to check out our neighbors to the north. I have a close friend who works in Toronto, as well. Might check that out.

Always try to have a nice conversation first! See if the guy make u feel comfortable. Then u will feel more comfortable. I had a client who hired me a few days and we meet in the lobby of the hotel, we sited in the table we had a short conversation and he gave me the money and he said look if u don’t feel comfortable with me u can take the money and you can leave but if u feel comfortable and want go to the room with me it’s up to you. He was so polite and I liked him. 
just be gentle and try to chose some guy who treat u well. 
I hate when the meeting looks very transactional. I always do all what I can to look less transactional.
