Leaving the sandbox when you can no longer laugh at the antics is probably for the best.

It's a lesson to everyone here that taking things too seriously is harmful to your health.

It's just a message board...  And a severely toned-down version from what it once used to be.

Until just a few days ago, this thread served as a special place where we could set aside our personal differences and come together, united by our shared humanity, our common fear of loss, and our collective anxiety about endings.

I kindly urge those who wish to criticize or belittle someone that others in this group hold dear to please redirect your efforts to another thread. Let's preserve this space as a refuge where we can continue to connect on a deeper level. Please, please, please.

I've been here for over 20 years, on and off. When I left it was for a number of reasons but I never cancelled my account. I just stepped back and pursued other interests.

A few years ago I just logged in and lo and behold my account and password were still active and here I am still. Life goes on.😀

Now I am also concerned about another of my favorite forum members: @Lookin

His last login was on September 13th. I hope you are well! I miss your wisdom!

I am extremely glad to report that @Lookinis well enough to post in Gayguides.

Thanks for the kind words! 🤗

It's been really busy the past few months and I haven't had as much posting time as I'd like.  Things are slowing down though and, as soon as I get a few notes in order, I'll be churning out the usual drivel.  rolleyes.gif

I politely disagree, and I miss him [@unicorn] dearly!

He (@unicorn) was an honest poster who shared a big part of his private and professional life with us! We had a few disagreements but also many times we mostly agree on different subjects.

You can find him on the other site -- still contributing honest and useful commentary and responses. 😊

I miss Steven Draker.... Am I alone?

No, not alone @marylander1940

I know Steven Draker was not the most popular poster on the forum, but as noted, he was one of the best escorts I was lucky enough to enjoy multiple times over the years until he retired!

Where ever you ended up, Steven, (presumably Belgium!) I wish you only the best, and thank you always for showing me what the best “boyfriend experience” entailed! With an emphasis on TAIL!!!

I found @unicorn to be very confrontational and will not miss his acerbic and dismissive attitude. In my view he had some unattractive attributes in other respects as well. But each to his own.

Even though @unicorn and I disagreed constantly, he was one of the forum members from the opposite end of the political spectrum I rather enjoyed debating.  He was supersmart and knew how to make an argument.  Granted, he was aggressive at times (lots of us got pretty heated in the old Politics subforum) but if you called him on it, he would calm down.  At least that was my experience.

Even now that the old Politics subforum is defunct, I will miss his participation around here.

I created an account in 2015 and for many reasons came to to the conclusion that "it's not for me" and I stayed away for YEARS, at a certain point I just didn't log in until 3-4 months ago. In fact I was convinced whatever  my old password was would be defunct on the newer platform.
Little birds would whisper into my ears and my ears would ring from time to time but it was never enough to lure me back... over time and after serendipitously finding myself surrounded by many forum members ( it's a very long complicated story ) and I realized from that experience that there was enough good people from the small sampled demographic to change my mind, something everyone is entitled to do. So here I am enjoying reading about other people's experiences on both sides of the fence about the common interest that has us all here....

Ironically, in our world where so much is rooted in "fantasy" there's a lot of "reality" and truth here... learning to navigate with and around people who have different views, philosophies, political beliefs, being more tolerant for people and the the things that aren't our cup of tea.....

I can see why some might want to remove themselves but thankfully and gratefully I can also see why someone would come back. We all have a finite amount of energy and we can choose where to and who to expend that energy on, what to respond to, what not to respond to and even who to ignore/block ( it's a feature conducive to peace, happiness and well being lol 😂

That’s a lovely post, brother. So much of what you do seems grounded in the search for (and appreciation of) connection — appropriate, of course, and sometimes only up to a certain point ... It’s one of the many things I value in you, and I’m glad you’re finding scope for that connection in the forums.

They need to create a love/thank you/grateful button here.
I already know what buttons to push on you though 😂😘🫂🙌🏽🙏🏽

We are delighted to have you back on here!  Agreed, it is fun to see what people have to say about the hobby and about so many other things.

I only learned about @unicorn's departure second hand. I did not see his post, which I assume has been removed at his request along with all his other posts ever since he became a member. Is that correct?

I find it strange if that is indeed what has happened. It's one thing to walk away. Its another to eliminate all traces of your participation on this board.

Why am I not surprised?
