I don't think so. Throughout the years I've seen and been with guys that weren't certified but they always made that clear to me either in advertising freelance wise or when we met. Now a spa or agency may not hire somebody who isn't certified for legal reasons. I do remember back in the late '99/2000, a coworker of mine in SF took a massage course so he could start escorting on the side, but I never understood why he needed the course if he freelanced part time on his own as a side gig from his job at one of the major hotels. I'd look into the local laws if I were you just in case. Good luck! P.S. See this guy's ad.
