Birthday Etiquette With Your Favorite Provider(s)? 🎂

Curious what others do when it’s their favorite masseur/provider’s birthday 🤔

Do you usually send a quick “happy birthday” text or message? Or do you keep it strictly business and not mention it at all?

Also, if you see them shortly after their birthday, do you ever bring a small gift, tip a little extra? Or is that crossing the line into “too personal”?

Interested to hear how others handle it and what’s considered normal etiquette in this client-provider universe.

If I know them well enough... they definitely get a happy birthday text at the very least. The ones I'm particularly close with, I might get them a small trinket or make them something. Some I took on trips with me for their birthday around their birthday. One of the guys who really isn't a provider to me anymore, who I am extremely close with, I try to visit him on or around his birthday and treat him to a nice dinner. I don't really do the whole tip thing. 😁 Not begrudging anyone who does.

There really isn't a normal etiquette in regard to this. It's best to ask the provider if its ok to wish them a happy birthday. Some providers love the message. Some want to keep it strictly business. It depends on the person. For example another regular of mine appreciates the message but his birthday to him is just another day. There is no fanfare nor does he want to make a big deal of it.

All depends on how you know it’s their bday and your arrangement with them.  
 

If they told you their bday such as if you booked airfare for them, I think a happy bday text would be appreciated. But again, your mileage may vary.  Small gift also goes a long way.  
 

I lucked into taking a masseur out to dinner after a session and it was his bday weekend.  That was a nice bit of coincidence and happy to have done so.  He’s good company.

When I like a provider and want to know their birthday so I can wish them a happy birthday, I’ll casually ask their sign or something like that. Boom, birthday unlocked 🙂

I have a provider who randomly gives me gifts out of nowhere. Honestly, it makes me a little uncomfortable sometimes because they’re usually $200+ 😅 One time he wanted to give me an Apple Watch, but then remembered I’d told him my company already provides my phone, watch, and tablet.

He’s still given me several gifts just because, especially around Christmas. I’ll randomly give him $50 or $100 gift cards here and there too, so it’s not completely one-sided.

If they're a provider i see regularly and i know their birthday, i do send a birthday text yeah. I also actually refrain from hiring them during the week of their birthday assuming they would be taking off work for themself, unless they specifically offer a session/confirm that they're working. I've never thought to gift them stuff or birthday payments, i leave that to their high roller clients cause that's beyond my means. But there's a few where i would if i could.

I've had one provider know my birthday just from casual conversation after a session where i mentioned "oh yeah my birthday was last weekend and i went to XYZ" and he was like "oh my god why didn't you tell me it was your birthday?!" I thought he was just being nice, but now I'm wondering if maybe i missed out on a birthday session or gift 😆

This same provider sometimes throws random trivia questions at me, and if I get them right, he extends the session by 30 minutes 🤭

I know the birthday of one of my providers but only because he moved our appointment to free up the day for a family celebration. Though I know the date, I’ve never reached out or commented on it.  It seems to cross a line that might not be appreciated.

I send a polite, simple, and sincere “Happy Birthday” text.

Two years in a row with no response? I move on.

I usually send them a card or text wishing them a happy birthday along with a small gift. If I’m able to see them around their birthday, I’ll usually buy them something in person. Otherwise, I’ll just send a little money through Zelle.

I think if the provider mentions it to you then they are fishing for a gift, monetary or otherwise. 

Personally I like to maintain the boundary between client and provider. I'm bad at remembering dates and special occasions. My mother gets 1k for Christmas and I barely can remember to do that.

I'd prefer a gift or extra tip over a venmo. Only good regulars would know the time of my birthday anyway.

As a provider, I of course don’t have birthdays annually; I age a year every 5 years, so when it does eventually come around to adding 1 to my age then it’s a BIG DEAL and I expect a nice gift. OK?

I do not like to celebrate my birthday and most of my regular escorts do not know when it is.  I did have an escort send a nice floral arrangement for a birthday one time. I had hired him for several days the week prior but there was some tension at the end of the appointment.  I looked upon the flowers as a concilatory gesture as well as a felicitation.

I am one of those guys who likes to give gifts for no reason at all. I would absolutely gift a provider for his birthday within a week either way. The size of the gift would depend upon how well I know him and the level of service provided.  Gifts cards are always well-received (Starbucks and/or In & Out Burger, usually in the $25-$50 range), and gifts of good underwear always seem to be welcomed. My most unique gift was a dozen jockstraps to my favorite provider.

Depends on how you know his birthday. If from stalking him online then probably not 😉 If he told you, then a birthday text and padded tip probably ok and appreciated 😀
