Why did you quit?

I’ve seen a number of guys on this forum indicate that they no longer hire which makes me wonder why.  If you stopped hiring or stopped massaging/escorting, can you share what led you to that decision?

I can't imagine that I would flat-out quit, but I've definitely slowed down since I started in my mid-20's. Less desire as I get older, a bit more careful about money, and much pickier about finding a guy I would hire.

I won't quit... but some might and have because of:

• lack of desire
• cost of living
• economic uncertainty
• changing personal circumstances: relationship, finding fulfilling free sex with other guys, 
• downsizing / rightsizing expenses

He is an intelligent, kind, much younger man. if he were to die or break up with me, I might reconsider.

I have the strong impression, however, that very few providers - who are my ideal type (handsome, young muscle-bottoms) - would want to offer their services to a man in his 70s.

A gifted masseur I repeat-hired a while back was in med school. Once he hit residency, he had offsetting FT income, and no time to do massage. Pity. He had great hands.

I have to be in a very particular mood now to hire, which I noticed is slowing down. This is true even with guys I have had a great time with.

MANY clients are your age or older.

Most escorts accept all clients no matter age, size, etc. they simply take into account the client's expectations to make sure they're compatible.

I’m that age too and only started four years ago.  I’ll keep going until the rejections become too frequent, the funds run out, or my body no longer cooperates.

I wasn’t making any observations about escorts in general or meaning any disrespect towards sex workers and clients.

I merely observed that my ideal type (handsome young muscle-bottoms) don’t usually want old clients. When such guys think of older tops, they imagine them being 35-55.

I’ve known various escorts socially through the gym. Over the years, I’ve heard several express their views on servicing old clients 70+. Of course, it is a business and most realise that older men with money can make reliable clients.

For me, it’s the declining quality and attractiveness on offer compared to ten or fifteen years ago. I also have a lot of other things going on in my life these days, all fulfilling, which leaves me less time for this hobby.

I would like to echo this sentiment. I only seem to hire when I travel. In my home city I am quite fortunate to have two f**k buddies who are very accommodating. On the road, when the desire and funds are there, I’ll hire.

I’m not hiring less but I’m hiring from a smaller pool.  As @Pensant indicates, quality options are few and far between and I’m taking a concerted focus on quality (and importing talent for weekend trips is not cheap…so predictable is important)

I simply lost interest in it as I aged, as I did with a lot of other things that I enjoyed when I was younger. I would rather give the money to charities and causes that I care about. (If there were a rest home for homeless old providers, I would rather donate to them.)

They might have some preference about younger in shape clients like and appreciate when they meet guys like that but they are escorts they want out money.

Most guys that I know always find something the light in a client for inspiration besides taking Viagra.

While I’m still actively hiring, I have to agree with @Pensant. The drop in quality lately has been pretty discouraging. Sometimes the amount of time wasted searching and filtering through disappointing experiences honestly makes me feel like giving it up altogether.

Lack of funds. On top of that even if I had the funds-and  maybe it's just sour grapes -since I don't-but there aren't as many guys (in Dallas at least) that I'd be interested in as there were years ago. 
 

I like masculine gay athletic/muscular guys  who are either versatile or bottom. And here's the kicker - I prefer  Europeans and not Latin American heritage guys. That doesn't mean I haven't hired Latinos before. I have. And generally I've had a good time. But my number one type-think of Tom Chase or Trey Rexx back in their glory days. And most of the guys advertising in Texas these days seem to be Latino.
