They all know the option exists. But yeah lots of guys just aren't mentally built for it. Or are against sex work for various reasons, or are simply in a position where they don't "need" to.

I've seen plenty of guys who could make tons of money doing OnlyFans/porn be offended and mad just at being asked because they feel they're above it and feel people who do it are disrespecting themselves and such. Even more so for escort work. It's just not for everybody for a myriad of reasons.

Which is unfortunate, cause there's definitely lots of hot guys i see on social media or just on the street that i would hire too but generally aren't the type to be in the biz.

I regularly see guys on the street I'd happily hire. I guess not many men are built psychologically to get with any ol' person though.

Whether we share the beliefs or not, the reality is that many have a morality rooted in Judeo-Christian ethic and fear the moral stigma.  Others fear disease.  Others fear bad people. There’s a million reasons some would not even consider it

I have a hot, gay acquaintance who recently became a masseur and often posts thirst traps online. He also sometimes posts about his financial instability. Almost  immediately after posting an announcement that he was going into massage, he posted something along the lines of “I DO NOT DO “SENSUAL” MASSAGE! PLEASE STOP ASKING!” I was very tempted to comment that if he did, his financial problems would (at least temporarily) disappear 🤣

I think they might be inclined to participate if they could easily sign up just to get sucked. But in reality, the client will asked to be touched, sucked, or kissed as well.

I’d be more than happy to suck off such hotties, or rim them if they’re amenable.

Along the same line, I always wonder if men are aware that they can basically receive head at any given moment at any time.  There will always be someone somewhere who would get down on their knees for him with no questions asked.  I was in a public place, looked around, and said that very thing to myself.

If they did, the world will be a much better place 😁

True.  Just look at the number of men on this site (hardly a true cross-section of the population to begin with) that have hangups about condoms only, advertising vaccinations and medications, etc.  And, look at the overwhelming amount of men on here who were monogamous until after middle age.

There are so many beautiful young men who need to lighten up and just get laid more while they are young just for the satisfaction of getting laid, never mind the money.  And of course, protect their health while at it.

Not to yuck your yum but I could not be less interested in giving unreciprocated head to anyone let alone a straight guy. I don’t see what I would get out of it. And I like giving head, I’m actually a champion in getting gang face fucked, but before, during or after that I’m going to be pleasured or I’m not interested.

I could see doing it for a partner who’s horny when I’m not. But a stranger? Nah.

But I also realize I’m in the minority here.

That’s the second time in a few days that you’ve said that and then did exactly THAT 😉

Personally, I don’t think that’s a problem…but doing it for money takes it to a different level.   Then they start thinking “what will granny say if they hear I was doing it for money with a tranny!”

I didn’t do that. I explained why it doesn’t appeal to me specifically, not as a universal truth or in judgement of his desires. I even said I was in the minority of gay men, most of whom fantasize about straight men. You should keep your debates to 18 year olds and stop trying to gaslight adults.

Thank you.   Maybe I missed where anyone asked what you thought 😉

Making it all the more irrelevant to the thread…since…nobody asked.  And you did you did make it clear it was on your yuck list

Thank you.  I’ll exercise restraint and not respond in kind so as not to further feed the troll.

Overall, I congratulate you for spending time practicing in the mirror for a group who doesn’t seek your bloviating thoughts.

I understand the fantasy of wanting to have some sort of sex with hot men one sees in public.  I went to Oakland's Pride Festival yesterday and there was a very hot man near the Latin stage that I could barely take my eyes off.  Where this thread veers into silly territory for me is actually thinking that a significant portion of hot men would choose to do sex work.  It doesn't matter the circumstance -- a lot of men (gay, straight or bi) simply aren't motivated to do sex work, even if it just involves being "serviced."

Lots of guys like the idea in abstract ‘wouldn’t it be great if I got paid to have sex!’ but then once faced with the reality of it they back off. They realise they’ll need to be available when clients want, they’ll have to fuck guys they don’t find attractive, and they’ll need to face prejudice from family and friends who don’t approve of their choice of work.

I think it’s not a job most people can do. Aside from needing some physical attributes (because you’re selling your body) you definitely need the mental strength to be able to do it. It’s definitely not easy. But I will say it can be great fun, empowering and give you a lot of freedom and opportunities. Also a great insight into human sexuality.

Different morals abd needs.

Very good looking guys USUALLY do reasonably well for themselves without escorting in part because goodlooking people get treated well in general...more likely to get the job, make friends/contacts, etc. And having sex work on your resume kind of puts the other stuff at risk

I often wonder how escorts manage to top clients whom they don’t find attractive.  I can understand bottoming for them, but how do they get an erection and perform as a top for a guy they don’t like?

There are pills for that.

My Origin Story again, briefly: I honestly did not know escorting was an option until on a flight b/w LA and NYC I read "Hustlers, Pornstars, and Escorts", where the author put it in very simple language making me think, "Holy shit, this is an option I'd never considered, and it sounds fun!"  I didn't grab the book from the WeHo bookstore A Different Light because I was curious about escorting (or porn), it was one of many I grabbed for the trip, along with a couple Edmund Whites, it just happened to have an enticing cover.  It lead to 20+ years of escorting.

I suspect most men don't think of it.

Before reading that book, I had absolutely no idea escorting was an option.  When friends and I chuckled at the ads in the back of Frontiers and Unzipped,  it seemed entirely too risky and scary to even think about.

Come to think about it, without the ads in the back of magazines, which don't exist, how would you even know about the world if you weren't looking for it?  Crazy, I never thought of that till now, the loss of the magazines and the scary/sexy ads in the back and what that means.

Escorting, outside of liberal online bubbles, is niche and still looked down on despite more open values on sexuality these days.

It's not an option for many, mainly due to morals or needs.

In my experience, it's niche even within liberal bubbles. Most of the anti-sex work laws that have been passed has broad liberal support because they were presented as "anti-trafficking." The don't really address trafficking so much as drive sex work further underground, which makes people trapped in it less likely to access help. And it criminalizes those who genuinely want to do it.

The US is a uniquely sex-negative, puritanical country. But only for the regular folks. We see how the elites engage in the most immoral and often illegal behavior without consequence, while someone engaged in sex work for survival can be arrested and jailed.

Yeah, I had some friends who were absolute sexual freaks who to my surprise completely turned up their nose at the idea of going to a strip club. Mind you, most strippers and escorts I have known are a hell of a lot less personally messy/chaotic than these people I am talking about. I suspect it was a little bit of they needed SOMEONE to look down on.
