I think in the time of prep, using a condom is not that common, but a preference is a preference. It is something that should be hammered out before an encounter. He was using a phone with a weird area code, then had me go to a walgreens to get a gift card, then had me try to give him a deposit through facebook or paypal. Then, asked me to send him a picture of the gift card with the code exposed. When I refused since he could just redeem it, he kept trying to put me through hoops to give him money before we actually even met. Sent me some random picture of his hotel location as "proof" that he was actually in my area. I was basically game for anything until he asked me, quite aggressively, to send him the code for the gift card. As soon as I told him that was a no-go, he was gone. Your mileage may vary.
