hey forum,

are you guys seeing the new minimum rate for escorts $400?  this seems to be the case as escorts arrive into SF.  this is def making me more wary of hiring the way I use to.  I have to really decide if this escort is worth it.  : (. thoughts?

It depends on the major city. I still see the minimum over the past year or so being $350-300 in most cases. Even in New York. Obviously there's the premium 1% looks and physique wise whose ask is in the $400-500 range.

One slight trend I've seen locally the past few months is some guys who were asking for $350 have now dropped back to $300.

 In SF I’m still mostly seeing 300. And 350 for some. If a rate is 400+ I pass.   And I let them know that it’s too high. My paycheck is not keeping up.

Yep, same here, got that quote and couldn’t stomach it enough to even respond. I’m just going to start attending my local bathhouse if I’m desperate for body contact. there seems to be more start quoting $400 in SF.  However, most are open to offers for less.  Just depends on how much interest there is from clients at $400.   A few of the providers have noted clients in SF don't negotiate as much as in LA and NYC.  Everyone bargains and asks for deals in Vegas apparently.  Was interesting to hear their perspectives.

Agree with @DMICS. At the same time though I have noticed that prices for erotic massage have increased in some cases, where providers are now in the 230-250 range what’s before it was around 200.

Reminds me, this escort would check out my RM profile and ping me at times to see if I wanted to book and I would tell him that I wasn't really interested, his profile said verse/bottom and I'm a bottom so I just wasn't interested. That was the minimum for years, meanwhile the price of living has gone up. Providers shouldn't raise the cost for their services like everywhere else?

No.  There is no reason to raise your rates once you hit $300.  It's just sex.  Nothing more, nothing less.  It literally costs the escort nothing but an hour or two of his time.  How much is enough?  You want $500, $1000/hr.  When do we, clients, say enough is enough!  When do we collectively stand up and say, "No!  I'm not paying $400 or $500!

My 3 weekly regulars in NYC charge: 350, 500, and 700 respectively.

My 5 annual regulars in NYC charge $250, $300, $300, $350, $400.  I've booked an additional 2 new guys for my upcoming NYC trip this weekend at $300 and $400.

One potential new guy quoted me $400 plus Uber.  That's enough to make me pass, because I am perfectly happy with my 7 other guys at $250-$400 without an Uber.

The only people who quote 400 to me are really popular escorts with 100 reviews. I stopped hiring those types.

I've met escorts ask for 350 who instantly accept 500 for two hours, down to 250 effectively.

Also, the past months I've been contacted several times by old providers and new ones desperate to get hired. The K shaped economy is hitting them hard, so it's a buyer's market, from what I can tell.

I'm guessing because of SF's reputation for being the gay capital of America (and also a major city) that there's a spike with local and visiting providers.

My local annual regulars are $250, $300, $300 and $350.

In NYC my annual regulars are $300, $350, $350. If I host I provide Uber to Brooklyn, otherwise I'll just get a hotel for the day in the city.

One more "visiting SF" story.  Just now i reached out to a new guy who is visiting.  He quoted me 500 and i politely declined "sorry, that's way above local rates.  most guys here ask 300"   That was it.  i didn't imply i was bargaining, just sharing that his rate was not typical here (especially since he's fine, but not top 5% of ads)...  and he wrote back right away that "if i have time, i could probably make that work".

Well I’ve mentioned this before…if they’re asking these rates they’re getting them from some clients. The microcosm of clients that are here on COM are better educated than most clients. When escorts consistently quote rates that “we” think are too much, they’re getting that rate elsewhere.

You say this as if you're paying for an essential service and not a luxury. Escorting is hard work and escorts put a lot of effort into their jobs even when they're off the clock. I'm not familiar with San Francisco, but many popular cities for escorts have high lodging costs. A one hour session for $300 isn't enough to break even for the day in these cities.
