Tipping Providers

I put this in the search bar however I saw no results.So gentlemen I will ask do you usually tip a provider and if so how much and what do you base it on,and if you do not why not?I would love to get comments and feedback.

No. I ask their price for their services and I pay that.

I usually do, with whatever larger bill I have left over from paying them.

It varies

I usually don't tip if the session ends early or if I am already paying a very high hourly donation.

I take into account the quality, the before, and during interactions, and if they are not a clock watcher.  Definitely tip if the session goes over the time agreed.

I do most of the time. Between 10-20 percent, based on overall satisfaction of the experience. No tip when I'd dissatisfied.

Try inserting just the "tip" into the search bar.

Sometimes when it's too big, it can be difficult.  Inserting just the tip always works with me!  You can insert more later 😉

I tip my massage guy 25%. Every time I see him he does a little more and adds a little extra time to the session. You get what you pay for.

Rarely do I tip unless the service is above and beyond. If they charge $200 and expect to receive $250 ($200 + $50 tip) then they should just charge $250. They control their own prices.

I don't normally tip. But if a provider's rate is below the market rate, I'll tip the difference. I also encourage them to request what they're worth to future clients.

I've rounded up many times. When they stay extra I also tend to pay a little extra. But in general, no set rule here. Advertised price is advertised price. 

Tipping in general is right up there with discussing HOAs. People come to the table ready to fight thermonuclear war over their positions. 

To @HockeyMan's point above, I have advised one or two that were so great that their rate is a little under market and they could/should be charging more.

At a charity auction I bought a “mystery” gift basket that had in it 25 Starbucks gift cards each worth $25 .  In addition to a cash tip, I give everyone a gift card and I get such positive feedback. They can be used all across the country (but oddly not at most airport Starbucks). I once got a text from a provider eight months after we met saying he just found the card in the pocket of his backpack and wanted to say thanks. It was impressive that he remembered who had given him the card, and connected it to the right number.
 

 I think it is important to tip. I tip electricians, plumbers, housekeepers, the guys who delivered my new refrigerator—basically anyone who comes to my home to provide some service for me.  They are experts at things I’m no good at and that certainly is true for the providers I hire.  Obviously if the service is subpar I don’t tip. I’ve been stood up by more drywallers, carpet cleaners  and cable installers than I care to remember so I try to give a little extra to those who do honor their commitments. And If the person I hired to walk my dog after I had foot surgery gets a tip, then these guys deserve a tip. And because I use electronic payments I want to be sure I’ve covered any fees they incur from using e-payments so I include that in the cash tip as well.

Invest in a handful of gift cards to give with a cash tip. It’s the smallest value of the transaction but seems to be genuinely appreciated.

I used to tip routinely if service was good to excellent. Only for bad experiences did i not tip. 
Now in the last year with rates going up faster than my income, I sometimes have not tipped for people who are asking more as their base rate.

Yeah. I used to tip more but if the base rate is over $200, then the service has to be exceptional.

I rarely tip since I don’t squabble about their stated fee. As others have mentioned, when I encounter a hot guy charging below the market, I’ll round up to the going rate. On the other hand, favored providers receive clothing and other gifts, usually connected to leather harnesses, boots and the such: channeling my inner costume designer.

Always appreciate getting tipped.   It implies I did a great job and the client was more than satisfied.    Very much appreciated.

I don't tip, but I send my regulars Christmas gifts via Zelle or CashApp.

I usually tip an extra $20 for a regular (1-2 hour) session if I had a good experience. Nothing if I didn't, but I usually have a good experience 90% of the time. I do sometimes tip a bit more for a longer session but I don't go crazy because they are already getting quite a lot. haha.

My usual tip for any service including these is 20%. The amount will vary with exceptionally good or bad service.
