This is exactly what happened. We had a very nice chat going (no red flags). He sent me face pics (which he doesn't have on his profile). I requested a specific time. He requested the deposit to secure the meeting. It's not a lot of money; it's more that it feels like false advertising. If he doesn't return it, I'll post on the thread about him here so people know.

He has a day job, so I'm trying to give him some time, but I'm curious what others think I should do if he remains silent, particularly other providers. Thanks! (And please don't use this thread to yell about how people shouldn't make deposits. 6 years into this hobby, this is the first issue I've run into.)

As someone who always does a search first, they’re not necessarily helpful because the subject lines can be vague or the results are quite old. This is particularly so when searching for info on a provider since some change names; others move, etc. also newbies don’t necessarily know how to search.

Because ATM fees are outrageous. And it’s simpler to just use Venmo or Zelle. I have had a couple of providers request cash and generally turned them down. Plus there are many stories on here of people paying upfront and providers shorting them. With electronic transfer, that’s not as likely.

I wouldn't assume he's going to get shanked. Yes, it happens but plenty of people charged with these crimes survive for long times in jails and prisons.

Again, this is the role of the legal system. I agree his case should be heard without prejudice and the full assumption of innocence. But there is no right to a presumption of innocence in the court of public opinion. XXXXXXX * Please keep politics out of this discussion.

I don't know if this is the case with Wolf, but jails can put people at risk from other prisoners in solitary or protective custody. But I'm not particularly concerned about the well being of someone who shared videos of a 10-year-old being raped.

Do you think Wolf deserves to be held in some better facility than others charged with federal crimes? Personally, I'm for the abolition of most prisons, but Wolf doesn't deserve any preferential treatment in the current system.
