Really?   Might there be a kinder way to express your disagreement?

I didn't pick his screen name. And while I generally don't "yuck" other people's "yum" someone in their 50s being interested in an 18-year-old feels sketchy to me. I dated older men when I was 18, but they were 30-35. And as I got older, so did they. But I prefer people with fully formed prefrontal cortexes.

Oh?   Then I wonder what you think of me - in my 60’s - regularly getting together with or traveling with 19 and 20 year olds…some of which have no financial arrangement.   While I may wonder, I don’t particularly care

What you find sketchy is irrelevant in a forum that - by definition of what it is - should be completely non judgmental!  In other words, some opinions are best when kept silent

For the record, I get fully formed frontal cortexes and energy to match my own because I stay healthy and in good shape.

So thank you for responding by doubling down and casting a wider net of judgmentalism.  But I don’t think you’re well enough informed to judge anyone with different preferences.

Girl....

Clearly, I hit a nerve and you obviously do care.

If you think this forum is not judgmental, please read it more closely, as providers are regularly derided for their appearance, their age (if they're over 30), their bodies (if they're not ripped), or for having tattoos or piercings. Are you leaping in to tell the members judging them, or is it only when your own tastes are questioned that you get in a huff?

18-year-olds and 60-plus-year-olds are perfectly legal to date, marry, etc. If that's your preference, by all means enjoy it. But as someone younger than you, the idea of being with an 18-year-old strikes me as somewhere between boring and creepy. When straight men do this, they are rightly criticized for choosing to be with young, less powerful, less savvy people whom they may be able to take advantage of.

Regarding who is well-informed. It's clear to me that you don't understand what the prefrontal cortex is and its role in human development. So here's some information that contributes to the growing number of people who are uncomfortable with age-gap relationships involving people in their late teens and early 20s. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/body/prefrontal-cortex#what-is-the-prefrontal-cortex-pfc-

I've met quite a few young men in their late teens/early 20s who have more head on their shoulders than most middle-aged men.  Just like not all women are bad drivers, not all young men are naive and impressionable.  We just need to be mindful that biology does play a factor in brain functions.

To the topic at hand:  It sounds like this young man is smart enough 🤓 to realize what a hot commodity he is and how to take advantage of it, rather than waste it in a monogamous relationship.  The TRUE reveal of how smart he is will be how much of the money he earns now will be invested and capitalized for his future, instead of spending it on lifestyle inflation.

Fine.  Whether I read things with judgment in mind is indeed irrelevant.

I think the more relevant question is

- are you OK with that?

- do you think it’s ok to criticize the preferences of others in a place with such diverse tastes as this?

As to THIS provider, looks to me like - for now - he has a pretty good thing going and I’d absolutely love to consider meeting him when he’s stateside again.   But before that might happen, I’d in fact have a video call with him - as I do with all - to assess his maturity, sobriety, and intelligence.

Talking of ages, my new infatuation is a 21 yo Russian model. He makes me feel like a teenager on his first date.

I thought we were hiring for an hour or two of fun, not proposing marriage.  And isn't it the provider putting himself out there for just that purpose?

If you think this arrangement is sketchy, you're probably in the wrong forum.

I spent last week with a 20 yr old in PTown.  We’ve seen each other regularly  for nine months. First meeting, he told me he’d not accept anything from me.   But I talked him into allowing me to pay for this trip   EVERYthing we discuss is academic - from genetics to the vagaries of economic theory

Honest comment:   After a 10 mile bike ride on the very hilly trail through the Provincelands dunes “Phileas!   I couldn’t keep up with you on those hills!!”

He’s precious and one of the most kind hearted guys you can imagine.   I think young men who know who they are and what they want are incredibly fun to be with.

I apologise for not being more thoughtful when I picked my username. I had the handle ACluelessGent in another forum for bespoke suits and thought I could use the same here.

And, again on the age difference, I put a lot of effort and spend a lot of money to look as youthful as possible. Pls let me enjoy it.

That's probably the result of systematic Puritanical Colonialism.  The ancient Greeks had no such qualms about such beautiful relationships.

Yes, Dude! 😎 You enjoy it!  Plus, you're bringing joy to the fit young men who crave the sexiness that some older men exude.  Thank you for your service!

And, congratulations to you... You obviously meet this young man's criteria as being both handsome and rich 👏👏👏

Thank you so much. Our first meeting was at a restaurant. Towards the end he goes to the toilet. Then text's me "come to the toilet". I go and starts kissing me. Not like his old age client but like his same age bf.

Actually, not so much. Rich, good looking, gay and drawn to the trade is probably a rare combination.

I would think that rich and good looking clients for male gay escorts are a pretty rare specimen. I would like to see the evidence that proves otherwise.

Yes, it seems he does. And he gets more and more spoiled. He is currently in Paris and decided to visit clients only at the Peninsula and George V hotels 🤣

Is that where he is staying or the clients? There are other great hotels in Paris as good or better than those two. And who would want to be in Paris this summer where the temperatures are hitting 40c!

Either rich or good looking alone will enable a client to get super top-notch A+ level providers.  With both qualifiers, that client can reach for the sun, the moon, and the stars.

Is your 18 yo acquaintance a breathtakingly flawless specimen to deserve the attention of the rich AND beautiful?

Oh yes, he is...

Bravo!  Good for him!!!  He should begin his adventure with the low-hanging fruits such as Tom Ford and Ricky Martin.  Then he can fuck his way to the top.  No sarcasm or pun intended.   😆

As an SA survivor, who was assaulted in two instances by older men, I am suspicious of men in their 50s and above (regardless of their sexual orientation) who are interested in people 18-25. Is everyone ill-intentioned? Of course not. Probably most people aren't.  But WHY are middle-aged men interested in someone so young? An intellectual match would be rare. Certainly, there's little shared life experience. If the appeal is solely physical, I can understand that for an hour or two. But a day, a week?

Actually, I think my perspective is needed here. I'm extremely pro-sex work. I don't degrade providers - as many here do. I've always had friends who do sex work - both women and men - so I know quite a bit of their experience. The dominant thinking on here is that 27 is over the hill.

This is a poor understanding of the role of pedarasty in Ancient Greece. It was something for the elites; young men were mentored in addition to any romantic or sexual relations. Anal penetration was frowned upon. Of course, the Greek elite also had women and men as slaves who were regularly raped and used as sexual playthings; as were young men who were not from the elite. It is not a morality I would embrace.

Same! My husband and I were in Puerto Vallarta in May, and a man we had just met asked me incredulously, "What are you? 40???" It turns out he was younger than me and still thought I was younger than him.

I don't know you, so my apologies for being so brusque in my response. It's just so strange to me because I can't imagine being with anyone under 30, even just for sex. I have friends in their 30s mooning over Instagram models who are in their early 20s, and I'm like, "ew, maybe when he grows up."

Unlike some on here, I can believe that a young man can be attractive to someone your age, as I was attracted to men in their 40s and 50s at that age. When I was 19, I was dating a 40-year-old. When I met my husband, I thought he was too young for me (he's 5 years older). But 25 years later, here we are.

All that said, our culture's obsession with youth is toxic. For every man who is living the high life in their 50s, 60s, and 70s, there are many more who believe they're too old and unattractive to even go out to a bar. And there are younger men online and IRL who will treat them like shit.

I’m suspicious of men who are interested in boys.   But 18 - 25 is a young MAN…a completely different dynamic.    In that range, I have one regular studying for the CPA and another with an IT degree.  @purplekow has met both of them and will probably vouch for their maturity and intellect.

Again, I accept anything formed in your life experience as being real to you.  However,  our life experiences are our own and shouldn’t be used as a basis to judge especially when they are only a narrow sliver of a broad spectrum

i will NOT be called creepy or judged for enjoying the company of young MEN without responding strongly.
