How much do you spend in a month? A year?

Just curious how much other guys spend for this hobby on average every month. It can certainly add up. I manage to keep it pretty reasonable with one regular at a time every month or six weeks depending on our schedules, plus a massage here and there, which adds up to about 7 or 8K per year. Wonder about others.

I’m new to this so I haven’t made it a full year so I can’t calculate that far out. Definitely a few grand. I’ve had a good time.

One thing I’ll say though is a number of my meetups were duds. So, I am hoping to get a better instinct about who I should and shouldn’t book. Anyone have tips? lol 

That way I can spend more on the good providers

More than i should but not enough to put myself on the street. I only spend money on this that i get from working over time. 2025 was a particularly hard working year and it was also my first full year of hiring so i was mostly still in "oh my god this is new and awesome!" mode. Definitely a good couple grand over the course of last year.

I'd be spending like @savantsav if i could though, they're living their best life 😆

I do high tech and clear about 2 mil a year so setting aside 50k/yr so I don't have to deal with grindr is a blessing.

The short answer is   Not more than I can afford.  The shorter answer is. Way too much.

Big spenders.

For me, about 1500 a year the last few years. I'm selective and make it a pretty big event in my mind when it does happen (for good and bad). Except for two escort experiments in three years, I just hire bodywork. 

There's one provider, my first, it turns out, that I'd return to over and over but he no longer lives in a city I'd regularly visit for work, so even more difficult to coordinate - and that has cut me back, along with disappointment in a succession of "substitute" providers who were okay but overall 'meh' in both the massage and vibe check departments. But if my #1 were local, I'd budget 5x that amount just for him.

Fate has ways of having me spend money on this.  Just today, I was wondering about a visiting escort who I have seen twice and decided to look him up.  He has not been on Rentmen since the new year and so I dropped him a text asking if he had retired and if not to contact me the next time he was in Palm Springs.  Half hour later, I get a response that he is in fact in Palm Springs until tomorrow and has some time if I am interested.  Well I have plans with someone for tomorrow and I am not as young as I once was and I have been feeling ill, so naturally, I said sure I'll meet you tonight.  I am just about to get into the showere for that meeting and going to tha bank in the AM to get the cash for tomorrow's scheduled interlude.

I’m adjusting my retirement at 55 plans because of a recent hiring spurt. Why? I’ll likely need the disposable income.  I’m still saving for retirement, but when I run across someone whose company I enjoy, I’m not going to trade the present for a future where I’m older.  
 

I don’t know where my budget number will end up - just yet for the year. The next couple months will show if I stay mainly in Chicago market or travel occasionally. 
 

Previous years I ran somewhere about 5k between massage and the occasional provider.  I’ve blown through that a bit when you include travel to escape the winter this year.

In Hong Kong (where I live) rates are definitely lower than in the US (an average of $250 US per provider) In 2025, I spent close to 40k HK dollars, around $5k US . Not a bad deal for the fun I had. Not bad at all.

I retired at 60 from the C-Suite with the plan of living a relatively modest life for the next 30 years.  
Then, I got sucked into consulting and the income continues.  
So, I work hard and play hard with frequent trips traveling with companions that are smart, good looking, energetic, and sober to satisfy my wanderlust.   I only have so long that my body is able and I intend to live to the max.  

I think the key isn’t “how much?” but rather “does it meet a need and is it too much?” and that means different things for different guys

I used to spend a ton ten to twenty years ago, but now I’m down to ~2 2-hour sessions per month. Maybe it’s me, but the quality on offer has declined over the years. The real hotties are in distant cities and I hesitate to fly someone in with whom I have no experience. I’m also entering grad school in the fall and I imagine that will take up a lot of my time.

Ironically, graduate school is when I started hiring!  I needed the anticipation of an escort appointment to relieve the stress and get me through class!  My hires were weekday evenings after class.

I have only been hiring for 6 months. In half a year, I have spent over $5,000. Some providers were enjoyable and others disappointing. My budget is tight due to health issues and retiring earlier than anticipated. So, I have decided to take a long pause from hiring.
