Alchemy Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Does anyone here -- clients or escorts -- ever worry about being stung by law enforcement? I'm guessing big cities with significant tourism and gay populations (NYC, LA, SF, etc.) are hands-off. But is it a worry for anyone or are those days past us?
+ Vegas_Millennial Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) Some similar discussion from 2020... The instances of it happening are few and far between. I'd be most concerned if working at or patronizing a massage parlor posing as a front for happy endings with illegal labor, as those employees are the most vulnerable group and public opinion frowns on taking advantage of these vulnerable groups of people for sex. I'm less worried about hiring a man who advertises independently, as society is more apt to let two consenting adults do whatever they agree to. I mention societal acceptance, because that is important when it comes to how elected officials prioritize enforcement and how a jury may perceive your case. + azdr0710 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 (edited) Find someone you like on Rentmen and search here in the forum for chatter if it exists. If not found, start a new thread inquiry here. You can also stick with well-reviewed providers already "approved" here in existing threads. Stings often occur only when the public complains about activity in public bathrooms (Larry Craig, George Michael were busted this way). Avoid money talk at a meeting and definitely do not associate acts with money (lock down the financials ahead of the meeting). You may want to host to avoid those classic scenes of undercover cops busting in from the neighboring connecting motel room after the trapping undercover dude gets you to agree to pay him "$100 for a blowjob" on tape and video!! + SirBillybob Posted August 9 Posted August 9 (edited) On the one hand, in Canada we have Montreal metro uniformed police dropping in to, say, Campus on their bar venue beats a few steps away from the private MSM dance area where paid for erections and orgasms abound. Appropriately live and let live. On the other hand, non-pimp 3rd party vehicle drivers of female sex workers to their appointments arrested and convicted for participating in what is ostensibly an added safety mechanism for the women’s occupational hazards. jeezifonly Posted August 9 Posted August 9 If you’re the only homosexual in Moosejaw, Idaho and you bring in a guy for an overnight from big city Boise, and there’s folks around who don’t approve of you and like to watch every coming and going and have the sheriff’s personal cellphone phone number, you might think twice. Otherwise I wouldn’t worry in major markets. That said - Always be considerate of your host’s discretion requests, no matter which side of the bargain you’re on. + Pensant, + SirBillybob, Alchemy and 2 others 3 2

DMonDude Posted August 11 Posted August 11 From what i've read/heard. In the U.S. at least, police are largely not concerned with this stuff unless it's tied to other crimes like drugs and human trafficking. It otherwise isn't worth their limited time and resources. Especially now days that it's moved online and isn't a provider on the street in public (which can tie to public indecency and what not) like it used to be back in the day. Unless there's some new Satanic Panic around sex work, there's not going to be enough public pressure for government/police to want to go after that many random individuals. Kinda the same as before Weed got legalized, they'd go after you if you were being stupid/obvious about it or were selling/buying alongside more illicit drugs but they never had the time or money to go after every random stoner/dealer who didn't do anything else wrong. + Vegas_Millennial, + Pensant and Alchemy 3

I dont' agree with some of the cavalier opinions above. You never know when the law enforcement climate will change in your area. This is especially true in some parts of the US during election season. So for MY part, I NEVER put too much incriminating information in writing when reaching out to a provider. My standard approach is to book a massage ..see how that goes, and then if I enjoy their company, I may discuss IN PERSON for more and meet up again. Alchemy, Whoisyourdaddy, + JamesB and 1 other 4

The opinions above aren't really "cavalier", just realistic based on knowing how police have to prioritize who they go after. You're not wrong that political climate is a factor as some of us have said. But your method isn't really any safer, sting operations wait till you make a deal verbally in person because they have to actually catch you red handed. So you're not actually lowering your chances much. + DrownedBoy and Alchemy 2

I’ve never had an issue in Vegas, but I am using the internet and staying in hotels considered a bit more “upscale” and secure. What is it specifically that we need to be aware of in Oklahoma? Thanks for anything that you can add.

I know plenty of folks who got arrested in Vegas! in your place I simply wouldn't hire in those cities.

My reason for asking about Vegas, Miami and Oklahoma was to learn if law enforcement was cracking down in those locations or if there was something with law enforcement specific to those locations of which we need to be aware. I agree with the member who suggested giving a passionate kiss when the provider arrives at your room; I’ve had providers reach for me and do just that. I probably haven’t been as careful as I should be so I’m trying to educate myself. marylander1940 1
