  1. From The San Francisco Standard:

A 2018 study said the spread of self-driving cars was likely to mean more sex on the road. San Franciscans are making it happen.

My favorite line: As for our adventurous couple, Alex and Megan, they said they’d do it all over again. “I was just along for the ride,” Megan said. “Literally.”

  2. I had something similar happen with a client about 10 years ago. He picked me up after work from my office job, and was horrified with what I was wearing. I was surprised, I thought it was a nice shirt but he said that the fit did not do me any favors. When we got back to his place he had me try on a really well-fitting blazer and I saw what he meant.

As others have mentioned, you want clothes that fit well and are flattering, but you don't want them to be crazy tight.

  3. So back to the original post asking about Doxy PEP. Yes, it's been around for a while, but I think awareness has been increasing lately. A friend of mine mentioned it to me a few months ago, and the last time I saw my doc he suggested it before I asked about it. This was when I was doing my quarterly bloodwork and STI check, so it made sense that he'd suggest it in that context.

I also had the concern about the potential for mass long term use of various antibiotics may accelerate the development and spread of antibiotic resistant strains of STIs. Doc said he is not too concerned given the relatively low dosages of the antibiotic, and provided they are taken as advised (just after sex). Take that for what you will... maybe the doc is a shill for the pharmaceuticals, but I know he also keeps up with the medical journals so I trust his judgement. I'm not obsessing over or wanting to argue over statistics; instead my thoughts are if Doxy PEP can prevent or lessen the transmission of STIs, that's something I'm interested in.

  4. Though the question is directed at clients, I'll echo the request from clients to not wear antiperspirant. This is probably the most common request I get from clients, so nowadays before an appointment I'll shower so I'm clean, but don't apply antiperspirant or cologne. Some clients request smelling stinky, but most just want clean but not scented.

I have friends that think that I should change clothes and never show up wiith a shirt and tie from other responsibilities during the day.

    Thoughts?

I guess this would depend on what the shirt and tie look like. Are they standard office wear, or something sexier? A shirt and tie can look hot and sexy, but can also look boring depending on the specifics.

I work in an office during the day, and there are days where my attire would be in the realm of "boring." It's an office job after all, and in some instances it's appropriate to just fly under the radar. On those days, I would not want to show up to see a client wearing my respectable but unexciting work attire so I'll at least have a change of shirt in the car. But there is some leeway at my office, so on some days I'll wear a tighter shirt, or tighter pants, that can go from office to client appointment with just unbuttoning an extra button on the shirt.

Here on the west coast, guys aren't wearing ties very much anymore, so I wouldn't wear one to meet a client unless requested. But wearing a blazer over an unbuttoned dress shirt or t-shirt is a common "dress casual" look and can work in most circumstances like a hotel lobby. I'll wear a blazer or wear a nice dress shirt if we're going to dinner, but otherwise I'll usually just wear a hoodie over a tank top with a good pair of jeans.

  6. I'll agree with the others, the one way to find out is to give it a go.

And as others have mentioned, this shouldn't be "I love sex so much, I should get paid for it." (i.e., monetizing your sex life). You would be providing a service, so you want to think of what value you are offering for the money. Some guys will get off on the idea of fucking a straight bud, so that could be your angle. Also how well this works will depend on where you are and what the market demand is... I'm a bit bearish myself, and while I do really well in some locations I get no luck in others.

So how about those nasty fetishes? Care to share? Maybe some of that can be part of your pitch too.

Ditto on the value of his OF; his insta is fun, too.

I'll ditto the ditto! I follow his OF and am really impressed by how diligent and professional he is in how he manages it. He seems really friendly and genuine, and of course hot as fuck.

  8. Moderators' Note: Gentlemen, this is ridiculous. You all clearly have issues with each other, and it just goes round and round. The rest of us don't need to be subjected to this.

Please know that the moderators do not take sides or pick favorites - what I am seeing is a bunch of men behaving badly, with each of you taking turns trying to get a rise out of the others. Settle your differences and take your tea party elsewhere, or the entire class will be sent to detention. Last warning.

    And what is Hunqz???

I tried Hunqz for a while, hoping to find an alternative or supplement to RM. But nothing but crickets… not much activity there in the US. Too bad since it looks like a decent site overall.

Yeah, that's weird, I can follow that link, fine, but if I back out to the homepage and Search by Name, or by Age over 50, or even just escorts in SF, he doesn't come up.

I must keep that in mind for using the app.

RM has an option in the privacy settings that can be toggled so that a profile does not come up in searches. I'm just guessing that that's what he might be doing. It's useful for providers who want to keep an active profile but are not looking for lots of new clients, and/or work on more of a referral basis.

… and yet new stores that are being opened are not covered in the news. Just the closures, only the bad news.

We locals are bewildered by all this negative national coverage. Yes there are problems but the media is going out of its way to paint a dire picture, and it just ain’t so. It is not dangerous here, and the vast majority of the city looks great. Westfield is offloading all of their US properties in the next year, but it’s San Francisco Centre that makes the news. I guess reporting on Westfield turning its malls back to the lenders in places like Tampa Bay doesn’t fit the narrative.

    • Matt Gutman told viewers that his crew was instructed to film their 4 a.m. GMT “Good Morning America” segment in a separate part of the city while reporting on the shocking closure of the Westfield Mall.

Though the shopping center — the latest in a swath of Bay Area staples to shutter their doors — cited decreasing foot traffic for its shutdown, Gutman suggested that the city’s rising crime could be to blame.

“The mayor noting that several metrics of crime are actually flat or down. But it is worth mentioning that we are not at Union Square or the Westfield Mall this morning because we have been advised it is simply too dangerous to be there at this hour,” Gutman said.

    • A sexy man like him should not be out at that hour.  He should be safely snuggling with me.

    That is simply preposterous.

  13. I’m curious, what’s involved in hiring a female escort? This is just out of curiosity more than anything, but might also highlight how things might be different with a guy.

I’m guessing that there may be female providers out where you live, but probably not a lot of male providers. The guys tend to concentrate in the cities, at least in my experience, and don’t tend to be located in the ‘burbs.

My suggestion along the lines that others have suggested is to travel to NYC to meet a guy you’re interested in, and if you hit it off you can invite him out to see you at your place the next time.

Another thought is to describe what you want in your RM profile, including BFE and your location. Who knows, there may be a guy who has reason to go out your direction, maybe he has family or friends there so would be amenable. When guys contact me through RM I check out their profile, and it’s really helpful to have that kind of info.

And/or see who @Coolwave35 has in his Rolodex! I’d trust his judgment.

Fasthorse was going to be the first Native American writer to have a mainstage production at the Taper, and the postponement marks a disappointing end to a season slated to exclusively feature plays written by women-identifying or nonbinary playwrights, the majority of whom were BIPOC artists...".

Maybe many audience members just like to go and enjoy a show, not just have a finger wagged at them.

I'm not familiar with this theater group other than the news links you have provided. But my read of it is that they were wanting to offer an opportunity for playwrights by people who are otherwise often overlooked or excluded from more mainstream productions and venues. But in doing so, they may indeed be limiting their appeal and audience, which could lead to their financial downfall. But I would not necessarily conclude that wanting to be inclusive and offer opportunities to BIPOC and non-binary artists would need to be characterized as "finger wagging." Perhaps they just want to mix it up a bit and give others a chance.

Sure, the pandemic might be used as a face-saving excuse by this group, as well as others who cite it as a reason. My favorite restaurant closed recently and cited the pandemic... I'll admit it was not as crowded as it had been before the pandemic so there was probably some truth in that, but they'd also been in business a long time and maybe they'd just had enough.

I was at SFO airport last week.  I was flying Alaskan airlines first class and had a four hour layover which I spent at the airport in the Alaska first class lounge.  While I felt no desire to venture into the city, I must say the airport was one of the more pleasant airports to layover in.

Terminal 2 is great, as is the new Terminal 1. They've really done a great job with these new facilities.

An older seasoned provider…definitely 2 hrs.

Call me ageist if you wish…just my honest opinion based on experience

This is my experience. Pretty much all of my first-time clients book for two hours. My rates also have discounts for longer appointments, including two-hour appointments, so that might also serve to encourage longer meet-ups.

If you're on the fence, my suggestion would be to converse a bit with the provider beforehand (either by text or phone call), get a sense of what they're like, and if there's good rapport that could help you feel more confident in trying a longer appointment.

The 9th Circuit ruled in 2018 that cities cannot ban camping in public spaces.

    https://www.nlc.org/article/2018/09/19/what-the-ninth-circuits-camping-ruling-means-for-housing-first-strategies-in-cities/

This 2018 ruling applies to cities in the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.

You may have noticed a large uptick in urban camping that started year that has yet to subside.  I noticed it in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas almost overnight as transient homeless set up camp on sidewalks that year.   For my masters thesis in 2019, I interviewed homeless people in tent camps in Las Vegas.  A majority of whom I talked to said they previously used about half of their disability checks for affordable weekly rentals.  But now that the police can't arrest them for camping on the streets, they would rather sleep outdoors and save their disability checks for more beer and cigarettes.

While my masters thesis was not on San Francisco, I suspect many urban campers have no desire to move indoors for a nominal cost.

Amusingly, one of the homeless men I interviewed in Las Vegas said he rotated to California every few years because California would give him bonus payments as a newly homeless person in that state, and then move back to Nevada when he no longer qualified for the California bonus.

Thanks for providing that context. I wasn’t aware of all that… it definitely explains a lot!
