Only a very serious opera fan would consider them celebrities, but Kenneth Riegel got drunk and sang at a party given in my honor. David Rendall bought beers for me and a friend at a local pub on the night of his Covent Garden debut. And I bought a drink for Dame Eva Turner during the interval of a performance of Manon at the ENO.

In a completely different sphere, I once spent two hours in interesting conversation on a train with Alan Guttmacher, the president of Planned Parenthood and one of the longtime leaders in the fight to legalize abortion.

The Three Stooges, after they had dropped out of show business and were working in a car wash on La Cienega. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif They left the top down on my Ford Falcon and sent it though the revolving brushes with my Bischon Frisé asleep in the back seat. He didn’t stay asleep for long though and chased them through the power dry and out onto Melrose Avenue where we all collided with the late Belle Poitrine.

And, more recently, Mickey Mouse, buck naked and snoot deep in a tub of vodka-infused Velveeta I had left on the kitchen counter. I didn’t recognize him without the red shorts and yellow shoes and would never have guessed if I hadn’t caught him whistling the theme song from Steamboat Willie.

I forgot about Ed Rendell, because I used to meet him so often before he became an important political figure. He was our neighbor in Philadelphia for a year.

I also forgot about another political figure, Kenny Duberstein, Reagan's chief-of-staff and a powerful DC mover and shaker for many years after that, because we shared a dorm bathroom when we were teenagers.

In my prior profession as a taxi driver, I picked up Estelle Parsons while she was in town for a show. Not exactly a celebrity, but I also picked up James Gunn's mother as well. I would love to meet Henry Cavill one day, preferably with him naked and tied to a bed.

__This brought to mind a GIF of Mr. Cavill at the age of 19 from

The Count of Monte Cristo in 2002 which was shared on Facebook!

___He's so hot and hunky now.

In no particular order - interfaces with all of them at one time or another

Demi Moore - Intelligent and very personable

Whoopie Goldberg - Fantastic and quite the lady

Ted Danson & Mary Steenbergen - Down to earth, friendly and non affected

Lauren Bacall - Deserving of the sobriquet "Bitch of Broadway"

Leontyne Price - Thrilling!!!!

Richard Simmons - a total ego maniac with the manners of a pig (sorry if I offended any pigs!)

Johnny Depp - surprisingly erudite without affectation

Christian Slater - Unassuming and nice

Hal Linden - one of the nicest people I have ever met

Michael Richards - almost paranoid in his interactions

Leonardo DiCaprio - Full of himself, unfriendly and a classic boor

Joan Rivers - Full of herself and exactly as one would expect

Barbara Cook - Not too nice - this was a big surprise

Betty Buckley - Very nice

Gwen Verdon - Friendly and down to earth

Michele Pfeiffer - a lady and very sweet

Sheldon Harnick - Self effacing and very smart and funny

Cynthia Gregory - Very gracious and sweet

Andrea Martin - Funny and nice

I met the guy who played Mr. Whipple in the Charmin' commercials. I worked in management at an upscale hotel. A bunch of "D-list" celebrities were staying in the hotel for some sort of fundraiser. I was chatting with Mr. Whipple and, without my asking, he whipped out one of his headshots, autographed it and handed it to me. It was mildly astonishing.

Nelson Rockefeller - when he briefly ran for Prez in 1968

Captain Binghamton (Joe Flynn) from McHale's Navy - literally ran into him at CBS Television City

Tom Wilson - played Biff in Back to the Future

Tab Hunter - when he acted at a local dinner theatre back in the 90s, I think; gorgeous man, even in his 60s

Guy Lombardo - checked him into his hotel room - nice guy, very short

Ed McMahon - at Bookstore in the Beverley Center in LA

I saw the guy who played the principal in Ferris Bueller's Day Off cruising Santa Monica Boulevard a few times. I think he was convicted a few years later of a felony count of child porn and was placed on the Sex Offender Register.

Alan Alda - behind me in line at Gracious Homes

Placido Domingo and Luciano Pavarotti backstage at the Met

John John (JFK Jr) at the gym. I even spotted for him and he returned the favor. Nice quiet guy. Oh and a body most escorts would envy.

I was lucky enough to see Elaine and Bernadette Peters in a little night music (I also saw it with Catherine Zeta Jones and Angela Lansberry before those two replaced them and I think the show would have swept the Tony's if they would have cast Elaine and Bernadette as the originals) and she put on an amazing performance even though she was almost 90 and I remembered at the end of Liaisons she let out a loud burp, I guess it was her way of personalizing the song. I'll never forgetting watching her interview a few months before she passed on the today and she said the F word and it didn't get bleeped:) I thought I misunderstood what she said since they didn't bleep her but an hour later it was all over the internet

re-upping this since my original link is out of date.......jesus, Hoda and Kathy Lee are stupid........f-bomb at 1:30!
