Prince Andrew.

@RealAvalon was that with Jeffrey Epstein around?

When I was a kid, I used to have dreams that I was married to Prince Andrew....

@Unicorn have you seen Andrew lately? He’s really aged badly. And the continuing leakage of info, photos etc about his extensive contacts with Epstein - contradicting his talk of meeting once etc - is not helping.

Just read this thread.

Matt Damon at Spago's in Beverly Hill a few years ago. Right after my order arrived and I began to eat someone taped me on the shoulder. When I turn it was Damon. He asked if the short ribs I was eating were good. I said outstanding, we then exchanged a few pleasantries before he turned back to order the short ribs from his server. He came across as one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. A very positive experience.

I agree @Epigonos . I met Matt Damon while staying in the same hotel and he was delightful. He chatted in the elevator one time; he had a room near mine, and he spoke whenever we met afterwards, including at a small gym nearby when just he and I were working out (tho he had 2 guys with him, presumably for security).

I remember seeing Jack Benny and later Ella Fitzgerald at a hotel in Vienna, Virginia in 1974.

They must have been performing at nearby Wolf Trap, I did not attempt to talk to Mr. Benny because he looked like a very tired businessman. Regret it now. Ms. Fitzgerald was friendly.

Celebs I’ve had the amazing fortune to spend a little time with socially:

Leonard Bernstein, who called me “sweetie” and kissed me on the cheek but hit on my boyfriend.

Yo-Yo Ma, who (jokingly) offered to autograph my penis since I didn’t have a CD (we have had a friendly professional relationship for 25 years)

Mstislav Rostropovich, who was the most famous cellist before the Yo-Yo era, who pulled me into a dressing room to tell a dirty joke

Alan Alda—had wine and cheese with him and a great conversation about the music in his films and improvisation.

Werner Erhard, the personal development workshop designer/leader, with whom I had a brief conversation about models of reality

Becoming a celebrity: the young actor Charlie Plummer, who has started in a couple of indie films, had parts in some big films, and is starring in a new Hulu series

Oh, yes, I wouldn't want to be married to him now. This was when I was a kid.

Living in NYC, I come across celebrities on a regular basis.

I live in an upscale building and one of my neighbors was a major manager/agent in show biz.

I almost died the day Kit Harrington walked out his door and we rode the elevator to the lobby.

Not only was he very good looking but sweet and nice.

Today, I rode the 23rd St crosstown bus with Adam Rippon.

Cute.

Back when I was still starting my career I worked for a local museum here in Chicago. I worked there past time while I finished school. Anyway, you just never know who you'd run into at as museum.

Julia Roberts

Tommy Lee Jones

David Bowie

David schwimmer (not sure if I spelled his name correctly)

And even Belgian royalty

Many years ago, I had sex with an escort who claimed to have fucked King Baudouin in a three-way when he was still a prince. I didn't know whether to believe him, but it was an odd enough claim, out of the blue, that I thought it could have been true.

I wonder if celebrities ever tire of smiling and posing with photos with fans/strangers? Somedays I don't want to deal with anyone -can be moody. I don't know how I would deal with being famous and always having to deal with strangers.

Perhaps it takes a certain personality-I am more of an introvert. Maybe extroverts revel in it? I can't imagine being famous-it would drive me crazy!

Then you'd be surprised how many entertainers are introverts. Being a former actor, it's a lot of us. Most are ok with it because they remember what it was like to meet celebrities when they were kids.

Love this thread.

-Claudette Colbert, my seat mate on a flight to Barbados. Lovely even near the end.

-Celeste Holm. Sold her false eyelashes and watched her take $5 for an autograph “for a charity”.

-Patty Lupone. Pleasantries and swam together sailing on an eastbound crossing.

-Gwyneth Paltrow, taught her tennis as a kid

-Jane Russell. She was a fun and a real broad in the best sense of the word.

-Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher. A few words while dining next to them on a ship. Debbie was gracious but boy her act was dirty!

-Jerry Lewis. Yecch, and nasty too.

-Richard Dreyfus. Low key and pleasant.

-Christopher Reece. Before his accident, super kind and mellow.

-Sec of State John Kerry. Pleasant. Engaging. A Senator at the time

Dan Rather. Very pleasant. Terrific smile for an older man. Serious.

While strolling midtown passing a church, the door bust open and out rushed Michael Jackson and a few others. It was Liza Minnelli’s wedding to that creepy looking guy.
