I'm looking for a provider who is in the $200-250 range. The going rate in NYC seems to be $300+, but I'm looking for a good experience with someone who I can consistently afford as a regular. Any help or recommendations would be appreciated.

You do you, but there's something to be said for pricing for repeat customers too. You might make $300/$400 off one visit per year or you could make $1000/1500 each year off of a regular. It takes time and effort to acquire new clients. 🤷‍♂️

I have had a regular who said he wants to see me more but can't afford it, so I reduced my rate to 250 and he now sees me weekly. 

In order to get discounts like this - you would need to be a regular first.  

To be clear, that would be to see someone more than 4-5 times.

I can’t imagine an actual professional - someone looking to make even a partial living as a provider - taking work for that amount.   Especially in New York City.

What if you meet someone for his regular price of 300 or a bit more and then after you offer him seeing him once a month for 250.

I guess when you say regular you want someone you can see on a monthly basis at least.

For some it is and for others not at all.  Figuring on seeing someone 12 times a year for $50 dollars more an encounter runs to $600 bucks.  Cut that back to 10 visits and you get them for the price you are willing to pay over a year's time.

I understand your point but is paying $50 less THAT important that would make someone hiring A instead of hiring B.

I've done the same 

but I would never contact an escort asking for a discount or in this case because he's cheaper than others as my main reason to hire him.

For some people, I'm sure it is. There absolutely are people who engage in this hobby on very very tight budgets on salaries where differences of that amount matter. They have to be super picky and careful about their fun spending because whatever thing they're spending on it may not be something they can just do again the next week or the next month. I have no issue doing this with regulars  - but just FYI for the OP and other people reading this -  we get messages saying "hey I am looking for XYZ, if you can give me a discount I will see be your regular!" and you can be sure as shit, they will NOT in fact become a regular and they just use this as a carrot to dangle to try and get reduced rates. Don't reach out trying to negotiate cheap rates. Asking a regular is very different thing. Please understand that!

No provider will give a upfront discount. You need to show that you will be a regular to get that privilege. (like seeing someone 10 times then getting one free liek someone above mentioned! great idea!)

As was stated earlier in the thread you probably will need to bite the bullet and hire a provider at a higher rate than you would like. But if the session goes well then you could ask if they'd be willing to do a lower rate for a regular meetup.

Grindr guys who do this are younger - most in school or just starting work in a job that doesn’t pay all the bills.  So the incentive is there.  With rentmen guys it’s a job (mostly). A relatively new guy in NYC quoted me $1k to meet I’ve not even seen his face.  On Grindr you’re seeing albums.

That is the essential point: you become a regular client first.

I always preferred to date one guy regularly. Over time, I dated 3 good guys who enjoyed my company (and my wallet, of course). They OFFERED me a substantial discount.

One charged me 50% of market rates because I ended up seeing him 2-3x a week, and I’d pay for drinks & dinner.
