I have been asked to help groom (shave areas they couldn't get to) a few providers. It had nothing to do with hiring aspect of the meeting. Two of them have said they don't trust others to do it (besides professionals).

It is actually not uncommon for erotic photographers hire providers and either do “trade work” or even pay to model, IMO, it is inappropriate to ask it as a provider. While I see suggesting activities to do in a session ok, they should be at least adjacent to what you know the client likes to do.
