Here is a set of rather basic questions:

How do you travel with lube? Do you bring a big bottle of them? Or just buy something when you land?

Also, are there any non-lube options that can be used as lube?

I always bring a small water based lube, inside its own zip-tight plastic bag, packed in my carry-on.

Many times just spit and a good rim job will do, but the guy's hole has to be hungry and really wanting that cock to take it without lube.  Thankfully, mine is usually very hungry 😈.  Someday I'll open that lube I pack in my carry-on.

Haha, I like spit for dicks that are less than 8”-8.5”. But for bigger dicks, which can be my go-to, I think getting properly lubed can really help.
I recently think as bottom I need to treat my hole better… I do like rough sex a lot; but it doesn’t mean I can’t be gentle/caring to my hole…

In my city there are volunteers with community health organizations that pack small sealable plastic bags with 2 condoms and 2 miniature lube packets apiece. They are provided for free in baskets at their offices or in large clear plastic cylindrical dispensers at bars including strip clubs. It’s easy to stockpile the lube (and condoms) and pack for travel. They don’t seem to cut into the carryon liquid allowance in the way bottles and tubes do. The ones without tiny starter slits for quick access to the product can be a nuisance to open, however. I make a microscopic scissor cut on each one, not deep enough to cause packet leakage, prior to putting them in luggage.

I wouldn’t treat lube any differently than any other toiletry.  Pack some in your dopp kit or buy it when you get to your destination.  The only reason to worry about having it in your carry-on is if you think you’re going to fuck or be fucked en route.

Great topic! I agree that Swiss Navy travels well. Walgreens and CVS both carry a lot of different lubes these days if you’re gonna buy on arrival. (Find them next to the condoms.) Their “store brand” may not be “sexy” but it’s not expensive and gets the job done. If your City has a “gay store” (think Off-Chute in Phoenix or Skivvies in Dallas) they often sell “trial size” lubes which are small and travel well in zip-top bags. Swiss Navy’s little tubes easily slip into your pocket (you never know who you might encounter on the patio at The Anvil in Phoenix) and Sex Grease is sold in a little sachet. Makes it easy to always have a variety on hand.

Powdered lube. Mixes with water as you need it, and cheap enough to throw away the extra. Brand names: J Lube and K Lube.

If you buy J Lube from your local farm and barn it's 1/2 the price and your more likely to get the real stuff and not a fake.

I buy small silicone travel bottles from Amazon and fill them with melted coconut oil that then hardens when it cools

I’ll have to look into that. There’s always Vaseline, always available everywhere.

I'd say easier to buy once you arrive. But just as an FYI-I think Swiss Navy has the most secure top that doesn't leak. I've had a mostly unused bottle for probably over two years in my trunk-no leakage.

Swiss Navy has a plastic seal on it when purchased and once you take it off the pump action is great. After use you depress the top and turn it to lock. However, when packed in luggage it can dislodge and then it makes a mess.
I always place it in a plastic bag and wrap it with a small towel or facecloth. I love it as my go to lube but it’s a bit messy to handle. Also it lasts and can take a lot of pounding while still providing smooth action.
I put it to use this afternoon on a 9 and a half inch love weapon by one of my regulars and it was smooth sailing.

My Dad used to call his shaving kit a dap kit (so do my brother and I). I've run across people who have no idea what I mean when I say it. An older friend once told me it was a military-possibly naval-term.

For those not on PrEP and trying to play safe-I don't think coconut oil is safe for latex condoms.

I'd never pack lube without putting it in a baggie of some type --although come to think of it-currently it is in a small chest in my trunk  in a flimsy Walmart bag. But in myvluggage it would definitely be ziplocked or the equivalent.
