What happened to Coolwave? All of his posts seem to have been deleted.

Was it just this thread of his adventures with Mexican lad to Antarctica that was scrubbed or have all his other many threads about various adventures been scrubbed also?

I think that happened to Unicorn as well, if I recall correctly, in recent memory.

Perhaps he found true love and retired from the hobby… at any rate, I hope he is doing well and will miss living vicariously through his well written escapades!

That was what Unicorn told us about himself. Coolwave seemed to be far too into playing the field, particularly in groups, to fit that mold.

Unicorn's posts remain, but are attributed to "guest".  If a person who has deleted their account had been quoted by somebody the name remains in the quote, as you can see in the next few posts after this one:

The posts are still there, but they now appear under the name “Guest.”

it's likely Coolwave35 requested that all his posts be deleted and membership in CoM be cancelled......obviously, several possible good or not-so-good reasons to do this exist.......he can make his own goals and decisions in all this, of course.......here's one popular thread at which we can see how his "posts" survive only when quoted by somebody else......note that "Coolwave35" is named this way, but not in his original posts ("Guest")

A lot of posters don't realize how many identifying details they've let slip over the years,  and given the nature of this board, that could have repercussions for their personal or professional life. I would assume that's what's going on here. But if anyone knows him outside the forum, maybe just check in with him to make sure he's ok.

The thread about his trip to Antarctica ended on the note they were next thinking of visiting Egypt. But then I recall another thread where Coolwave35 was going to visit his Mexican travelling companion in his hometown to meet his friends. 
Is this where he disappears? There could be a sinister aspect to this development. Only time will tell.

Most unlikely, if that were the case it's unlikely that his account would have been deactivated.

Doesn’t a user have to reach out to a moderator and specifically request their account be deactivated/deleted? There’s no option for the user to do that themself.

I want to respect his privacy but I was in recent contact with Coolwave aka Guest. There’s nothing sinister and physically he is fine. 
 

For those who are cynical by nature, as I am, his recent relationship ending badly was unsurprising. It has taken an emotional toll on him and he has decided to take a break from hiring. 
 

I’m sure that many of us wish him a speedy recovery. I hope he will be back as I enjoy his posts and observations about the business.

He definitely lived the fantasy. Going to meet the family of your new travel companion was wild. I think I remember reading about the kids concern over explaining an older white gringo to his family and friends.

Collwave35 offered to solely support the M4M site (financially) after Daddy passed.  From this, and his well-published, frequent parties where he hosted large numbers of escorts, we can assume he is very well off.  Not sure why that matters except (1) he has the means to do whatever he wants and (2) it's good that we found another solution to sustain this site into the future.  I did enjoy his stories of the parties he held, I was always a little envious TBH.  In his more recent posts he disclosed that he had problems with physical intimacy, and that he really hired all of those escorts for companionship.  I do hope he is well, and enjoying life.  Perhaps he will be back!?

Yes, he and I talked about this.  Yes, this was his choice and not related to anything that happened here.  I wish him the best with whatever he decides to pursue in life and would welcome him back should he ever decide to return.

The account itself deleted.  Content posted by that account is not deleted but instead attributed as a Guest.  Otherwise it could remove entire topics or could make conversations no longer make sense.

The preferred way to request account deletion is from within your account settings.

This workflow makes you enter your account password and validates it is actually you who submitted the request.  Once a request is submitted, it is reviewed by an admin (me) first.  Basically I just click the approve button to complete the process.  Typically if it's someone who has a lot of contributions here, I'll reach out to confirm that person understands that when I accept it, there is no undo button and it is final as the only way for me to recover the account would be to restore the complete site from a backup prior to the deletion.

I sorta feel like perhaps we've strayed into talking about him a little inappropriately. Maybe the thread should be closed  and edited by the mods with something like "people were concerned about Coolwave's absence, but he is fine, just left the forum for now." 

Oooh...we could setup a new subforum called "The Milk Carton" where the thread title is a poster's handle and a status could be left...

Tracking info such as IP address exist as long as the account exists.  If an account is deleted, the associated information is deleted as well. 

If we deleted content after a certain number of years, it would remove decades of history of the site.  I'm not really interested/prepared to do this.  Regardless, it's not really relevant to this topic. That would be better discussed in the feedback forum.
