I know that Politics are not allowed here and if this topic has to be erased I apologize for having opened it. No names, no Parties.

But I just want to share that it is a VERY important day for the USA. We are extremely divided, and voting for maintaining this Country a Democracy is absolutely vital.

GO OUT AND VOTE! (And hopefully the majority of people will vote for whom I am voting for...)

Don’t be anxious - just vote. Then have an irish coffee.  You’ll be fine! 😁

I share the feeling. I am about to go vote today.

I prefer a glass of Brunello di Montalcino, but thanks!

Great idea. I'll have both.

Just to add, several legislatures, including those in California, Colorado, Hawaii, New York, and South Dakota, have placed measures on the ballot aimed at safeguarding LGBTQ+ rights, covering everything from marriage equality to anti-discrimination protections.

If issues like these matter to you, please take the time to research these measures on your own in your state.

I voted early last week in NV.  While I understand the anxiety people are having, I also have faith in the young people voting this year who have grown up reading books, watching movies and playing video games about what a dystopian future means and to avoid it at all costs.

Yes, voting is vital to our Republic.  I voted early in Nevada, and I dropped off mail ballots for a few of my housemates this morning.

I am hoping things turn out Great again; but, I am not anxious.  It's out of my control now, so I won't waste time thinking about it.

I know I'll be fine, but I'm concerned about children watching the news and constantly hearing name calling, personal attacks like "fat pig" directed at those who disagree with us, women being judged by their looks exclusively, etc.

My disability check covers my rent with $200 left over to cover my luxuries like food, insurance, and medical bills.

I am going to be totally fucked.

I don't see how.  Food stamps help with the food bills and Medicaid will cover everything if you are low income.  I haven't seen or read of any cuts in disability payments.

Gentlemen, this topic was always going to be close to the line on politics, but was avoiding it by talking about feelings on the day. Talking about policies, the actions of players or perceived players in how the day went, or what effect it will have on you clearly cross the line into content that we don't allow. Please go back to the sort of general discussion that we began with.
