Jarrod_Uncut
I’m just going to let this question sit for a minute… Car Insurance Rates Skyrocket 17.8%—Why Is This Happening And What Can You Do? WWW.FORBES.COM Car insurance rates are up by double digits and drivers may not see relief anytime soon. According to the... I get the pay range for us varies greatly. There’s people out there who feel $50 to $100 is reasonable to spend. Yes one may be paying but, it’s not an all inclusive ticket to every service, for everybody. Some think $200 is ample to get FULL service (the whole 9+69 hint hint lol) for the guy they want. Back in 2008, $200 was about the average/median for most escorts with professional taken pictures on RentBoy. Occasionally $150 I’ve seen also. So how can it be 15 years later, prices seem to have stagnated in some areas? That said, I do think it’s something that is being understated. And it’s not even about “everything else is up, so I have to go up”. But moreso: why is there this idea that because everything is up, some expect us to go cheaper to accommodate someone? If a dudes says a rate of $250, but then a client says “that’s too expensive”: to lower it would mean to have a little bit less than what’s needed to keep up with everything else. Then again, I almost wonder if it has nothing to do with things going up: I just think people will say someone is expensive just for the hell of it. Or the equally flattering terms like: “you’re out of my league, too rich for my blood, or “I’m sure you’re worth every penny”. This is why I just wish there was a big billboard in the sky with a list of average escort or erotic masseuse rates. So when they say something is too expensive, they can just look up in the sky and have something to reference. Idk if these people even research it, or even care. Or if they are used to seeing guys who only do this as a side “hustle” for fun thing or what. How Much do Escorts Charge? One thing for sure, the price “shaming” is uncalled for. On the bright side, (because I know some love to throw the “complaining” card out there): Most all the visits I do end up actually meeting, realize the value and often end up including a bit of extra. So it’s not those I’m talking about. I’m moreso referring to a segment of seekers out there, who don’t seem to understand: this isn’t play money on the side for everybody. pubic_assistance
Escorts have a "sell by date". The sort of young fit and handsome men who can run a successful OnlyFans can charge whatever they want for access to their dick and ass. 30-somethings who continue to keep fit and handsome have a dwindling - but still solid following. That said; unless you keep up that gym routine, your pricing is going to start sliding backward. Over 40: you're losing most of your audience and you need to take on budget customers or offer more extremely kinky services. So escorts are like cars. A few years off the lot and the price has nothing to do with inflation....its all about how pristine you maintain the chassis. newdad, + augustus, raife and 12 others 9 2 3
+ DrownedBoy
To back up a bit. Wages and fees have nothing to do with inflation, or with what the seller needs to survive. Wages and fees are determined by supply and demand only. That's why my firm and many others are refusing to give inflation adjusted raises. Everyone has a hiring freeze, so they have no choice. And that trickles down. + Pensant, Marc in Calif, DWnyc and 3 others 2 3

Sorry, but there’s a whole lot more to it than that; particularly in the porn and escorting industry. OF has created a surplus of availability to porn and sex, so why does there never seem to be a saturation point? Lots of reasons, but primarily because gay culture engages in an endless want and consumption of ‘new and pretty’ that creates a turnstyle effect of performers; it’s never enough, and will never be enough. Which means supply and demand goes out the window. When it comes to escorts, some of which now pull from the same pool of OF performers, they are making more money there now than ever before. They think they’re celebrities, and their worth is grossly overvalued. It’s why you see random people land on these sites starting with ‘$500’ without a single review. They speak to their OF friends, they feel they’re in the same league, and feel they can charge a similar price. The trend will continue, despite supply being ever increasing and more available, with hotter guys and more options, until OF gets a reality check. viewing ownly
Escort and masseur donations are higher BECAUSE people's wages are higher. I very much disagree with the reason rates go lower are due to someone's age for demand. It is obvious to any provider, regardless of age, if you take care of your body and look more appealing, your level of clients will increase. Plus, and this is wonderful news to report, the younger generation has really come to drop the "he's too old for me" stereotype. I feel the popularity of older / younger sex in porn has a great deal to do with that. If I were 25 (and I very much am not), why would I want to hire a guy my age asking for 2 large who looks great, but is likely cocky and unpleasant, when I could see a guy twice his age who looks equally as fit who is about 50 less and hour, and almost certainly a more enjoyable experience? + The Big Guy, Jarrod_Uncut, dbar123 and 1 other 1 1 1

I'm confused by your post. On the one hand, you applaud the breakdown of stereotypes when it comes to older men being as sexually desirable as younger men, but then you close with the stereotype that younger men are "likely cocky and unpleasant" while older men will "almost certainly (provide) a more enjoyable experience." pubic_assistance, + The Big Guy and DWnyc 2

But then why is the older guy in your example, all other things being equal or better, per your framing, $50 cheaper? That’s the market reflecting his value to the customer base, which includes young but also old(er). And newsflash, the age of “daddy” as self-described in online profiles is coming down alarmingly where even those in their early 30s talk of themselves that way (probably as they seek those in their late teens). I think I would be a grandfather by those definitions. And not sure the average 25 year old hiring is representative - depending on the data points you’re referencing. Who at that age can hire regularly? Maybe a cheaper option helps 🥹 Jarrod_Uncut

Shelf life for this space is likely even less than for regular providers. And if we’re considering the influence of this on hobby prices, consider that many providers can’t or don’t want to diversify into OF type platforms. So prices and differentiation has downward pressure there as well.

DWnyc
@Jarrod_Uncut I think you will find this hobby is the freest market you will ever experience and my guess is you will face similar if not greater frustration in a perceived mismatch on earnings and your value elsewhere. Remember, the market measures supply and demand, but not your self worth. Don’t confuse the two - no one should on their earnings. The market can, however, reward innovation, being proactive and responsive to market intel, and having the self awareness to leverage what one is working with. That all starts with you - no one here has the ability to fix the market either for or against you. + ThroatCummer
Guest
I don't think anyone expects "honorariums" to go down with respect to our work.... if anything one could make a strong argument that most feel the rates would also go up like everything else. Personally, I haven't adjusted my fees because of the current inflation trends but I wouldn't be surprised if others have. It would never EVER cross my mind to ask someone for gas ⛽️ money ( I drive to Palm Springs at least twice a week and Los Angeles at least 2 times a month, San Diego once a month.... ) almost everyone I see gives me 💯 bucks extra for gas and I always tell them it's certainly appreciated but not necessary... I take it upon myself to make ALL my trips worth my while, never putting the onus on any one person. Everyone operates in their own way and I have my way of doing things. Perfect visibility of prices and perfect knowledge about product enables the market to work without distortion. The distortion caused by illegality and the difficulty of being able to advertise openly and for buyers to compare value means that the price might be over or under the true market rate depending on the level of knowledge that buyers and sellers have.
