The hills above BH are in the city of Los Angeles.

Not that it matters, but since you corrected me, I'll do so as well: the city of Beverly Hills does in fact extend above Sunset, into the hills. And, yes, at a certain point, it turns into LA. The Trousdale (John Waters famously said that if someone printed a parody of Architectural Digest, Trousdale would be on the cover) neighborhood of Beverly Hills, above Grey Stone, extends quite high into the hills. Tousdale is closest to West Hollywood, where I live, so I was often walking there.

I agree about the masks outdoors; I see people on their bikes wearing masks, but not wearing helmets!

Clearly it's not for you and that's fine.

There's no way those people in the video built their bodies with body weight resistance alone; simply not physiologically possible.

And objectively it just looks really really stupid. :)

I m not denying it might be helpful for general fitness.

I never said they did... It's beside the point.

Most home-gym systems employ fitness models who look fantastic in order to sell the product. For me, it's neither here nor there.

A lot in fitness looks stupid, including proper form when doing squats. Frankly, I don't care how I look when working out, as long as I'm doing it right and getting a quality ass-kicking. My results will speak for themselves.

I don't think I said you did :-) i do believe it was clear that when I did say that about the spokesmen, I was criticizing, not you, but the suggestion of the marketers that one can get their type of body using those funny strap things. a deception, you are right, that is common.

i am sure i also said other instruments must have seemed silly in the beginning, such as dumbells and barbells.

and i'm glad it gets results. it also looks ridiculous.

This morning I played doubles tennis again for the first time since our courts re-opened. Unfortunately, in the blazing sun it was 96 degrees, and we have to wear face masks. We managed to play for an hour and a half, but I was feeling pretty shaky by the end, not only because of the heat but because it is hard to breathe properly with a mask over nose and mouth.

  • 2 weeks later...

Now that I've started losing weight, I'm trying to get rid of the some of the slack in my backside by doing glute exercises.

It's been tough to find an exercise that doesn't aggravate my knees or back though.

I just started trying donkey kicks and fire hydrant raises.

If only I had one of those rubber dog hoods to complete the picture! :)

I don't know how Old you are, or how much weight you've lost, but if you are on the younger side, your skin will adapt to its new size in time. However if you are like me, an old coot at 69, it doesnt. I was in a wheelchair for a year and a half recently and needed back and hip surgeries.... My butt took a beating and got saggy from atrophy... After my surgeries and during rehab I started using an elliptical, sitting AND standing... Its been 1 year since I started and my butt is back to being tight as a drum.... I was dumbfounded, and VERY happy..... Good luck.

I finally found a set of heavy kettlebells to carry with me as I'm traipse Texas.

I may never join a regular gym again ;)

I hear you. As I mentioned earlier, I’m fortunate that the owner of my neighborhood x-fit has a lavishly equipped garage gym, which I use 3x week. I’ve ordered a bunch of stuff from Rogue, but the back-orders are dispiriting. I lent a very cute neighbor my 35 lb kettlebell and another friend my beloved 1995 Trek MTB. Once the Rogue order is filled, I’ll just continue working out at home.

Does this qualify?
