Not sure if a thing in the sense that it could work, but absolutely real. It seems she hasn't really stopped since then. She even launched a program focused only on the face

And some more

This might be the only Derek Atlas workout I wouldn't want to watch.

sigh!

"Gravity seems to have grown stronger during the pandemic, pulling at my face and every other saggable thing on my body. My mouth is so used to being compressed into a tight angry line that I’m afraid it might be stuck this way. I have more and weirder gray hairs. The awareness of my body is only heightened when I go out into the world. On trips to the grocery store or bike rides, I’m acutely conscious of how much space I take up, and how clumsily I move through that space. Wearing a mask, I can’t even deploy my well-worn apologetic grin. I wear a mask because we should all really be wearing a mask, but, on a semiotic level, I don’t know if it reads as “responsible citizen trying to protect you from my mouth rain” or “scared, entitled, white woman.” I don’t know how to make a case for my presence in this world at all. "

So, I’ve been away for a few years. Why did a NYC get together turn into such a fight? I would LOVE to meet up in New York!

it was about 3-4 years ago, during the summer. it was stupid and totally chilled my desire to plan or be a part of NYC events. the PS event is lovely, but i probably wouldn't go near an NYC gathering.

On a more serious note; it seems that for me all yoga is hot yoga. Not having any equipment at home, more than my body weight, today I tried (and struggled with) yoga for the first time in my life. It was difficult, hot and somewhat painful. Something I much rather prefer to say about an encounter with a hung escort.

If you stick with it for even a couple weeks it will start to feel a lot better- 3 or 4 times a week.

Rogue Fitness is terribly backordered on all its equipment and on Amazon and eBay crappy stuff, when available, is stratospherically priced. Fortunately, I have a cast iron 35 pound kettlebell and parallettes. Luckily, I just got a pair of Jungle Jim TRX straps which I’ll use with a pull up bar I just found at Titan Fitness. And, hallelujah, I got a plyo box for box jumps and step-ups and found a pair of 30 pound hexagonal dumbbell, all from Titan Fitness. All I need are 53 and 70 pound kettlebells and I’ll have all I need.

Careful around the pull up bar - every time I use mine gravity seems to increase...and it gets worse with weighted pull ups!!! ?

I broke into my condos gym. I have a membership but obviously can't use it rn. For the two months I gained over 20 pounds, and it shows. I was doing a lot of stress eating. Since the last few weeks that I've been working out doing weights and light impact cardio I went from 211 to 206. Not a big drop but its progress and I'll take it. I've been doing cardio from YouTube by Body Project. The lead doing the excerising is cute so its good motivation. As for weights I've used Jefit app for a couple yrs now. I found a decent workout channel on YouTube ACHV Peak for weights last night. I did one of the full body workouts last night and it was a little harder than what I normally do but im ok with that. I'm getting some resistance bands on Saturday for my travels just incase the hotel gym is not open. Oh and before any chicken littles freak out about the breaking into my condos gym, I wipe down the weights and equipment before and after with sanitizer wipes. Something that wasn't happening before. So ?‍♂️

Hugs,

Greg

I have tried hard and been successful in not gaining weight during this stay-at-home time. I had hoped to reduce, given that I wasn't eating out, but that didn't happen either. Prior to mid-March I had sessions with two different trainers each for two sessions each week. I do have a home gym with a weight machine, treadmill, bike, elliptical, stability balls, bosu, kettle-bell and couple of dumbbells. I was mostly lazy and only did the treadmill most of the time. I did up my treadmill use to 3.5-4 miles every day and allowed myself to watch Netflix or Hulu only when on the treadmill. I did start Zoom workouts with one trainer a few weeks ago and will return to that workout space next week. This facility is small and private, but has a good selection of equipment and only has one trainer and one client using the space at a time. On the other hand, I went back to the other trainer this week as well - the gym is big, no one wears a mask (except me) and has a fair number of people in it at one time. Feels a bit uncomfortable, nonetheless it is good to get back to the routine.

Wearing a mask while working out isn't good for you. It limits the amount of oxygen and you might pass out.

I would have to disagree with you on that. There are air restrictors such as Elevation Mask which I use to simulate altitude training. It's essentially more restrictive than wearing a surgical or N95. That said, if altitude training is not on the list of things to cover while training then it may not be the most comfortable.

I'm getting the home workouts in with body weight, Kb's, core tools like the Edgecross M and cables with Maxpro. Nice and relatively portable! ?

I would say that you are both right. Someone who is poorly conditioned might not be able to tolerate the reduced amount of oxygen. Someone who is well conditioned might be able to tolerate it easily.

I'm not convinced they can make a gym safe. I love training with my coach at a bodybuilding gym, but I think those days are over for me. He has a garage gym that I would probably be comfortable with after the quarantine is lifted. We're looking to buy equipment to make our own garage gym. Titan's website says they can deliver by July 1. In the meantime, I'm surprised at the level of conditioning I've been able to maintain doing bodyweight exercise, dumbbells and bands.

CA has announced that gyms may open in a week, but the requirements are clearly designed with large commercial gyms in mind. There is no way that the small gym for residents in my HOA can be compliant with all the details. The same problem has arisen with our pools and all the other recreational facilities for our residents. I fear that all our amenities are going to be wiped out by new regulations.
