Overused and empty words

starting out something with "I'm not gonna lie".

 

A co-worker would say "I don't drink alcohol". "I don't drink" gets the point across fine, and even the dictionary lists "to imbibe alcoholic drinks" as a definition for "drink".

As If All Your Words Are Lies Unless Specified...awful

Though, I always feel I have to qualify when someone invites me "out for a beer" - because I don't like beer, though I'll drink most other alcohol.

I can't think of an expression more arrogant and lame at the same time, still abhorrently repetitive: "Comfortable in my own skin" ?

my skin is peeling. I'm not comfortable in my own skin.

It's also a wrong term. It really should be "physical distancing." But too late now...:rolleyes:

Yes, you're right. Distancing yourself from someone is unsocial.
