Another post about what someone specifically wanted got me thinking.  I know this can't happen here due to legality issues, but it would be so nice if there was pricing like a spa for each specific service.

I'm sure pricing would likely vary based on attractiveness of the client,  but one price does not fit all.

As a side, I got a nice price reduction from a porn actor once he knew nothing anal was to be involved. It would be so much easier if we could just click on what we actually wanted, and if a provider didnt bottom, kiss, swallow, etc. it just wouldn't be on the price list, but you'd know what youre getting, and the provider would only list what they're comfortable with

No surprises.  Of course for a lot of people,  they like the spontaneous aspect, but for me that's just stressful and a lot of people are afraid to ask for what they want.

Yes it’s not Wendy’s. What happens is clients would book the cuddle and hand job session but then expect to fuck bareback just because they got more horny in the moment. Then it gets awkward…mid session negotiations on extra services. I’m not going to up sell in a session nor do I want to negotiate extra services mid session. It kills the whole thing. Pay his rate and do whatever you’re comfortable with within the boundaries of his services.

Of course it's not Wendys, but it's not that far-fetched. Thats how it is in legal brothels and legit Spas.

You already addressed this in your post when you said "I know this can't happen here due to legality issues". It just doesn't work that way outside of those places in the U.S.

It is far-fetched. Looks simple to you, but:

  • This is not a recognized industry, in fact, in many countries is quite punishable by law
  • It can be as discriminatory as it is now, so it will not solve any problem
  • The current prices vary based an a wholoe lot of factors, not just what the provider will be serving (or how or from where in his body)
  • It's not possible to force providers to have fixed prices. It's not like the price of milk that it's controlled by law
  • Most importantly, it is perfectly fine that way it is now and has been since the beginning of humanity; there's no need for it

Just my thoughts, not law.

Answer to your own question:  Go through a pimp/madam/manager to negotiate services, and pay a higher rate overall to cover the commission

One price-point that would be very understandable to me is charging more to bottom for anal sex.  Not so much for the in-session act as for the additional prep-time before the session.  Paying (or not) for that additional time and effort seems very reasonable.

I'm not sure a "price list" is really all that useful, but a listed base price for any style of massage would be helpful if mandatory by hosting sites. I guess MF requires it but RM and Rent.Men do not seem to make it obligatory.

Personally, I'm not interested in paying for sex. If something sexual happens I assume it's because there is a mutual desire to in the moment. That has always been my experience. Only once did a masseur tag on a HE fee which was ridiculous since I had explicitly stated before the appointment that I wasn't into those...so when things came up at the end I naturally assumed it was our chemistry that did it, and was shocked when he asked to be compensated for it. Not acceptable, IMHO.

However, my real issue is that prices have gone absurdly high in most places. There are still some areas where one can get a real, fantastic, legit therapeutic massage for 50-60Eur...and then, if there is a mutual attraction and desire, have at! My longtime go-to guy in Paris eventually was charging me just 70Eur for massages that would run between 90-120 minutes. No, we never ever got sexual, it was never discussed, it never happened by chance, and I never expected it to.  I had also understood that he had stopped offering any sort of "extra" in his massages shortly after I started collaborating with him. Yes, I was extremely lucky to have a more than competent and so generous masseur. I'm sad he's moved to a remote part of France.

I began using massage as a way to deal with increased muscular tension from travel and exercise instead of always going to chiropractors/osteopaths/kinesiologists, et al. for $/EUR150-200 a session.  As much as I love all that body work, it's almost never covered by any insurance and is a steep out of pocket expense.  I was working for an extended period in Berlin (2019), and I was having 2 massages per week with all different masseurs who were all charging between 50-75 Eur a session. They were all great, different therapeutic styles, and all except one ended up resulting in fun, and I was never asked to pay anything more. And that seemed to be the standard pricing, at least around Europe, until maybe 2022 and then I noticed, as more and more escorts/porn/OF types were flooding the massage pages, everyone started to increase to double and even triple the prices!  I got into massage specifically because it was CHEAPER than going to all those medical professionals.  Now, the masseurs are more expensive!

In NYC I had a longtime masseur, incredibly sexy, one of the best ever...in 60 minutes he accomplished what most can just barely do for me in 90...he was charging $120 for years.  Then he upped to $150 and now he's well over $200. He let me continue to pay our original agreement for a while but then when he said that "next time when you come back" I was going to have to basically pay double for the same service, I was out and never saw him again.

That's my issue. The price gouging that has happened over the last 4-5 years internationally.  I find it absurd and prohibitive.  I don't care how amazing the physique or how XXL he is, I'm not paying $300 for a massage and if I see various Extras offered with tiered pricing I am 99.999999% certain I won't be hiring.  Again, no judgement, but me personally, I'm not interested in paying for something I get quite easily for free, whether it's with a masseur or not.

It's great that some people can get free lunches easily.  But don't forget about those who are so unfuckable that they cannot get anything unless they pay.  What would they have to do then?

They would do what they've been doing...hiring someone to fuck them.  But that wasn't the point of my comment...it was about the pricing in general.  Because there is a big difference between: Masseur charges $80/hour for a normal massage and you leave the rest up to fate and the moment, and someone charging $200-300 for an hour and everyone is assuming that these are escort prices but that's what they're charging everyone and you might or might not get an escort experience.  The issue is the pricing, not whose buying.

The problem is the assumption.  That's why everybody here on CoM emphasizes: communicate, communicate, and communicate; ask, ask, ask, ask, and then ask some more.  This somewhat loops back to @Mark_fl's original question: if there is a self-service kiosk for services, would it help or kill the vibe?

For sure it kills the vibe unless the vibe is specifically to have sex with the person, which, in that case, means hire an escort. I agree that the assumption is problematic but I still think the prohibitive pricing is the real issue here.  No one is saving lives in a massage and that people are able to charge ridiculous prices and that people are actually paying them is completely outlandish to me. Even if I had that kind of income, there's no way I'm paying someone $300-500 for an hour massage.  I agree as well, communication is key especially if you are specifically out for a different experience.  Which is why I would prefer that prices would drop back to something normal and then IF someone asks about it, the masseur can decide how high up he wants his pricing to go, or advertise those prices up-front, however discretely he chooses (ie. Erotic massage)
