A Wish List for Rent Men

I wish the Rent Men providers would indicate their rate as most Rent Masseur providers do.

Another wish would be the Rent Men providers indicate if they can host or not. Some do but the majority do not.

Both these wishes would save a lot of time and effort before having to inquire directly with the interested provider.

I didn't know they got rid of the IN and OUT in their settings.... I just told a couple of escorts to check it and post it in their "About me" section and make it clear and visible.

Most rent masseur providers don’t put their rate in their profile anyway. Normally I just see “ask”. Plus I think there are obvious legal reasons why rentmen doesn’t allow rates on providers’ profiles. Mainly to avoid appearing like a prostitution website, even though we all know it’s an escort website.

I don’t mind the current policy on rates. I prefer to discuss that with the advertiser, discreetly.

Actually, on RMen, providers can set separate rates for incall, outcall and overnight services, but those details are only visible in certain countries, and the U.S. is not one of them.

2) When filtering by city a choice to show ONLY those where that is there “home” city, not traveling to.

In Canada, RM allows rates for in, out and overnight. Some providers provide them and others list ASK.

In addition to the incall/outcall status others have mentioned, I wish that the (exact) location/map me feature was consistently functional and accurate… I shouldn’t have to message dozens of “nearby” guys (even sorting by distance) to find one who can host walking distance from work.

Also wish that the selected “intos” were more specific… you selected oral, but do you mean you enjoy giving, receiving, or both, or don’t mind one or the other? You selected PNP but does that mean you regularly do it yourself or are just tolerant of a client doing it? Big difference…

I’d also like the Boolean “AND” operator, especially for the “intos”.  E.g., kissing AND oral AND cum.

I also want dates in my search.  For example: search Dallas and with a date range of next Friday through Sunday.

In Rentboy you could block a provider and he would no longer appear in searches. This was helpful in narrowing future searches. (You could view the block list and unblock.)

I wish Rentmen did this.

This is probably for another thread, but I've always thought the world needs a reverse rentmen, where prospoctive clients lay out what they're looking for and invite approaches from providers.  This could be a new part of sites like RMen or RMasseur.

This may require too much backend programming for RM, but it would be nice if a section of "similar providers" will pop up on the bottom of the page after you click on a specific provider.  This is similar to shopping on Amazon.  There is a section of "customers usually buy these together" or "compare this with the following similar choices".  Or simply: "clients who reviewed this provider had also reviewed these other providers".  Then you won't have to waste time on endless filtering.

I hate that one of the filters you can search for is "travelers only" but not "locals only". When I have a place in mind I want to go visit and want to see what providers are there I don't want to be seeing ads of guys who won't be there when I will be.

I'm curious if anyone agrees with me on these changes and if you do you might consider writing to the staff.  You can go to the about>contact us that will open a chat with someone on the team in messenger. 

• The ability to search: ask me, vers bottom and  vers top; in an addition to the current options: top, vers and bottom in any combination of those six.  In large markets like nyc the ability to eliminate vers top from a "vers" search would greatly reduce the "vers in name only" results.  I often miss anyone who's selected "ask me" since that's not possible to include in a search currently. 
• In the safe/BB filter: Being able to select "ask me" in combination with the two current options.
• This is less important to me but it's a nice to have.  A filter for incall/outcall host/travel

I do wish you could search vers/top and vers/btm. I know when I want a mainly bottom guy I hate when I click vers and it's all vers/top guys.  😂

I've never done the safe/bb filter but I feel if you search for safe or bb it should just include guys who also put ask me instead of leaving them out as that usually will signal to me that they are open to both.

I am surprised as well on that note that you can't do a filter search of HIV status at all.

I WANT to be able to filter on Safe/BB.  But I’ve decided that I won’t trust any answers on the Safe/BB field.  I just assume that the encounter will be potentially risky and that I need to protect myself.  

I’ve seen several Twitter feeds from guys on RM who advertise as Safe Only but post clip after clip of them engaging in BB sex on Twitter.

One thing doesn’t contradict the other. I would assume they have different boundaries when it comes to people they create content with versus clients they don’t know personally. What they are comfortable doing in one context may not be the same in another. As always, the best approach is to ask them directly rather than relying on assumptions.

This! Too often, it seems, people read what is written in an ad as character traits of the escort, not their preferences or limits when they are escorting. Context always matters.

Exactly. I find content creators are much more careful about regular testing than casual sex partners. All of the guys I collaborate with seem to test very regularly (and obviously almost all porn is now bareback, everyone is on prep). Only once have I caught something from a filming partner. It’s understandable because if you catch something you can’t work so being mindful of regular testing and using doxypep is just good business sense. 

However clients generally seem to test less regularly and are not so well informed about sexual health. Some escorts will therefore require condom use in client sessions.
