The key is that full sex should not be expected by the hirer when hiring a sensual or erotic masseur. As for what’s included in the massage as ‘standard’ you should ask the masseur. I include things like oral and kissing as standard but many don’t so it’s incumbent on the hirer to ask.

For many clients though the interest in hiring a sensual or erotic masseur (apart from receiving a great massage) is the possibility and unknown about what might happen. That’s exciting and adds a frisson to the session. I do have sex with some clients because that’s just how the session developed. But as soon as a client wants the guarantee of full sex when they book the session then I am going to tell them that the rate is different (if I’m willing to do it atall). Clients expecting/demanding full sex for the price of a massage are unrealistic and will be disappointed.

I'm a fit, attractive middle-aged guy who looks younger (late 30s). I have frequently had masseurs do everything from kiss me, to rim me, to ask to fuck me. I never expect those things but I've begun asking what an "erotic/sensual massage" means to them because the definition seems to vary wildly from provider to provider. And, while it's subjective, I've also noticed that there's no rhyme or reason to how attractive the provider is. Providers like @proudwhore can't police what others are offering, but I'm not sure all the fault lies with clients. If guys are giving some clients full service for $200, they're undercutting their competition.

Ditto. I should note, though, that the masseurs who made a move on me were older guy-next-door types in my age range, not younger types.

One tried to go anal while I was on my stomach, and I wouldn't let him. The other got on top of me while I was lying on my back and started kissing me, and I let him (he charged a token fee afterwards).

Less a porn movie than a Grindr hookup between normal-looking guys.

Well, in my experience, there are times when fantasy does match reality. I have experienced an entire range of encounters with different masseurs, ranging from a simple (and great, or terrible) massage, to a massage that feels sensual but not sexual, to happy endings (meaning getting a handy jay), to oral, to anal, to almost braking the massage table having sex in all kinds of sexual positions.

In my experience, and let me say it again, IN MY EXPERIENCE, the difference is not about sex happening during or after a massage session; it's about the masseur being the one who calls the shotS.

As a masseur, you do call the shots, you state and decide how far you will go, and your client should respect your boundaries, but there's no rule about it, in my experience.

This last point resonates with me. I think that there are many escorts masquerading as masseurs who wait to meet the client before deciding on what to offer. It gives them a deserved degree of control over the proceedings. I’m often surprised and pleased when the additional menu is presented but it may also reflect my choice for dates.

The potential client messaged me on Rentmen for all this. He wanted to perform oral and rimming (and figering if I was okay).  I told him that he needed an escort and not a masseur and still he kept insisting that other masseurs included that service for the price of about 170. This is in D. C. I had to block him.

Yes. But will they perform sex for the price of a masseur? Or do they negotiate before the act? You have to really love sex in order to have sex every time you are hired as a masseur.

Some do, most don’t. If both are inclined for something more, it’s only fair to pay for the additional services. Some really do seem to love sex, even though we all know it’s still really a job.  Many of us are happy to help foster the illusion.
In your case, I support your position but can’t help but wonder if you’re giving mixed signals. In this case, you were only offering services as a masseur but your handle here is “ProudWhore”.

The username is mere sarcasm. I in fact don't often do anal. But now that you tell me, good advice. I thought "ProudWhore" was a very funny name.

Maybe part of the confusion is that you posted your services on rentmen instead of rentmasseur.

When someone hires for an erotic massage, what is the basic service that's expected?

Nudity.  Glute work.  Sphincter massage.

If a penis gets inserted, then only "Just the tip".  Anything past the tip is escort territory.
