I’ve been hiring masseurs for several years now: sensual, erotic, therapeutic, at spas, at resorts, men, women, you name it. And never, ever has a masseur used latex gloves to massage me. Until recently.

It struck me as odd. Maybe it was a germaphobe thing or just a personal quirk, but it felt unusual.

Has anyone else experienced this before? Or is it common and I’ve just been lucky that it never happened to me until now?

Here’s the post about the masseur who used gloves:

Against all of you?  Like. . . against your shoulders and back?!  Against your calves and thighs?!

I hope that if this happened to me that I would first ask why the guy was using gloves.  If he told me he detected something on my skin that he was worried was contagious, I could tell him that my dermatologist hasn't mentioned anything but that I would get it checked out.  I'd then give him a very small amount for the small amount of time he spent with me and I'd be on my way.  Assuming my dermatologist confirmed his suspicions, I'd contact him again to thank him and ask to hire him again, with a generous tip, if he was so inclined. If he told me he just does it as a general precaution, I'd leave without paying him anything.

yes I must admit the first thing I thought of is that perhaps you had/have some kind of skin condition the provider was worried about?

Slightly off topic, but I have getting PT and the therapist wears rubber gloves and a mask. I hate it because he is a very cute 20-something year old hunk, and just my type. I can't figure if he is gay or straight. I see him through my HMO at no charge, and he is doing wonders with my issue. We are both fully clothed and doing nothing in the nether regions, but I really hate the barrier to touch. I have concluded he really needs to get the bejesus fucked out of him so he's not so germaphobic. Unfortunately, that won't happen with me.

I used to see a guy who has essentially wrecked his nerve endings with ghb and perhaps gabapentin or the combination of the two.  He's constantly putting on gloves for the pain.

A masseur used gloves for an HE within the past couple of years or so. He didn't wear gloves for the rest of the massage. If I ever see him again, I'll skip the HE. The gloved HE did not resonate with me.

That's just weird and rude.. LIke if you're afraid of something, don't do it..... or just WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER!  I feel like all massseurs I see just go wash their hands as you get dressed.

With a physical therapist that's different.

A masseur wearing gloves sounds pretty strange to me. I mean, part of the reason I go for a massage is the human touch. And wearing gloves during an HE? The logic escapes me. What next, a Hazmat suit?!

Yes, most recently. Saw a guy in December and he definitely didn't wear gloves. Had originally seen him a couple of times a few years prior. Booked a 90 minute follow-up appointment last month and I heard him putting on gloves. Not only that, I was on my stomach for 85 of those 90 minutes. Will not book again.

A guy put gloves on me before offering mutual touch.  He also put a condom on before allowing oral.

Was that during COVID? If yes, it's certainly understandable.
