Rate question (no its not what you think)

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

I have a rate question - no its not about tipping etc

There is someone I want to see whose rate is $200 which is tad high for me, but reviews look good.

He is staying at a hotel with paid parking only and will be on a bed.

Maybe it' me but considering no table and i have to pay for parking - do you think that rate is too high?  Should I ask him for any wiggle room?

Thanks

I've messaged providers before who are at the top of my budget.  I just ask if they are okay with me paying whatever the rate is without tipping and that's always been a good conversation.

Appreciate that... historically I have always tipped the same amount regardless $20 which many appreciate (its the thought that counts)

However, how that you can't get a masseur for under 160-180 and 200 seems to be the norm, i don't tip any more.  Hell they are getting 100% of the fee

I will gently ask about his rate.  I HAVE had luck with this.  I mean some money is better than no money :)

But as mentioned no table, paid parking and a $200 rate - there has to be some wiggle room there i hope

I don’t think it’s too high…If I wanted to see the guy enough I’d just pay it. Asking for “wiggle room” is a slippery slope.

My point was (no table and mandatory pay parking) there IMHO be some wiggle room.

If I went to his place had the table, candles etc etc sure   but on a bed for $200

I respect your opinion and please ask that you respect mine

No. I don't consider hiring an escort or masseur the same as going to a flea market where you can haggle. There have been instances where I've asked for a rate and they've told me a number, which I've then told them I would pass on because the rate was too high and they themselves offered a better rate, but I would never go into it asking for a discount. In my opinion, it's tacky.

$200 an hour is an absolute max for me, and for that I would expect a top notch experience based on multiple great comments here and not (just) on masseurfinder or rentmasseur. Plus a masseur whose profile really gets me going 😉. And yes, I will leave a tip if he lives up to the expectations, this rate ceiling is just a matter of principle for me.

Thankfully, I have several great options in central FL that are within the $160 to $180 range. I usually go for 90 minutes, paying $220-$260, which leaves space for a nice tip before I hit $300 demanded by a hot visitor who I don't know for sure is even real or has any skills. It's a no-brainer.

I think that bargaining creates a bad vibe for the entire experience. Some masseurs offer lower rates on some days. Asking gently whether they offer those when traveling if you are lucky with the timing of their stay should be ok, though, IMHO.

If it's too high I don't respond (this is usually when I ask on rentmasseur via message) or simply thank them. I don't want a massage if they think they are doing me a favor. If enough customers do this, maybe they'll get the message and lower their rates next time in town?

Just curious: what was it that you thought, we were supposed to think 🤔

That said, it’s good that you mentioned “masseur”, but it didn’t quite seem that way initially. Because $200 for an escort certainly isn’t “too high”.

As for the $160/$180, as someone who’s done those prices before, I can tell you why it’s harder to find: ESPECIALLY if you’re talking about a traveling provider (which once again, $200 is just a straight forward number).

Hotels are more expensive. Most clients are leery of “budget friendly” hotels. I don’t mind budget friendly hotels, however not all are equal. In Seattle couple years ago, most anything budget-brand was nothing nice. I had to stay outside of the city, just to find something suitable.

And in regards to: “I mean some money is better than no money, they are getting 100% of the fee”. But is it? I know for me: part of why I have gotten away from such rates is because, $150 is a good price only in numbers.

Meaning, if I need $500, I need to see 3-4 clients at $150 minimum. That assumes non of the clients flake, AND they are all able to meet on the same window of days, the 3 other clients can meet. I’m here to tell you: that rarely happens. When it does happen, it may be 1 week, but not every week. Or it may be in one city, but not every city.

If someone were to book a $160/180 right now: I’d be grateful, but it would just be enough for immediate expenses. When I was young and starting out, $80 sounded good to me. But then I realize just how fast that goes, and how many people I have to see for it to add up. And lot of times, it’s spinning tires trying to get $100/$150 bookings to add up. It can be hard to save, because it likely goes into hotels or other daily expenses.

That’s why for me personally: I now have a $250 starting session, with $200 being the base. $250-$500 is the range I desire. Also like a previous topic I posted: a longer session which earns $1,000-$2,000 is going to really make a difference.

I know Masseur rates tend to be a different ball game, but not everyone runs it the same. That’s why I’ve moved away from the masseur title, and consider myself more of an overall experience. However in the Midwest and much of America: Masseur has become a safer way of saying “Escort”. I can understand, but there has to be an understanding that “$200 without a table” Is not “overpriced” because, massage may just be the title. Perhaps they charge $200 for the cost of the overall experience, and massage is just part of it.

Now: where lower rates do come in handy, is if I’ve already made enough, or I’m in a city where business is steady throughout the week. In that case; it can stretch and accentuate, what has already been earned.

Yeah I initially thought he was talking about an escort too and was like $200 for an escort? Damn that's a great deal for his time! Personally $200 is not super unusual for masseuers in my area although many of them provide somewhat "erotic" experiences like oral/mutual touching, etc at that price.

But other places are different. I've had some excellent massages on beds. Actually I feel like some masseurs can get a little deeper when they're kind of on top of in ways that beds provide. My guess is that this guy is also a hybrid escort/masseur and travelling with a table is a big pain. In my opinion, visiting masseurs don't often have a table unless they're on a road trip or something. Paying for parking at a hotel sucks but perhaps you can avoid it by street parking? I've often scheduled downtown visits on Sunday when street parking downtown is both free and usually more plentiful during the week. Personally don't mind a little walk if it saves me money.

Overall $200 for a really good, well-reviewed and hot masseur especially if there's "erotic" elements is a fairly normal price. I mean you can try to say that's too high but I would be suprised if the escort would budge much. If he's hot and well-reviewed, I think he would likely find clients who would pay for his services at that rate.

I’m in the “no haggling” camp. Having done contract work in the past, nothing set my teeth on edge more than someone asking for me to lower the monetary value of my services for this, that, or the other. If, on the rare occasion when I HAD to accept the lower rate, you can rest assured that the client received diminished efforts commensurate with their haggled rate.

If the table and parking are that much of a sticking point, just pass on this provider. There are others who will work for a rate that fits your budget. If this provider is a must have, then pull funds from another line item of your budget and go have fun.

I get asked for discounts…the answer is always ‘no’. Usually the client goes away without booking which is good because I don’t want to see them. In the instances when they do book (paying the normal rate) there’s usually hassle: they either cancel last minute, turn up late or when it comes to paying their credit card doesn’t work etc. There’s always some drama to their session.

Asking for a discount is a red flag to me. If my rate is too much for you by asking for a discount what you’re effectively saying to me is “I don’t think you’re worth what you think you’re worth”. That’s not a good start and in my experience it doesn’t improve so that’s why discount requests result in no booking. There’s enough clients out there who will pay the rate so why reduce it?

Good bed massages are possible, but most of the guys offering bed massages do not give good massage services. It’s difficult to do so on a bed. More often the bed massage approach is really more of an escort type session. It varies. A table is a sign of professionalism, being intentional, and taking their work seriously. I personally would stick to guys who bring and work on their own tables.

As for the parking, tough tits. The masseur made the decision to stay in that hotel or that neighborhood. He either isn’t thinking about client convenience when making lodging decisions, or he just doesn’t care. You might infer his attitude and approach extends to his service. If you’re on the fence, I would pass since the chances of him disappointing you are so high at this point.

- OR if he’s really hot to you, consider hiring him for true escort services instead of (or in addition to) massage. Assuming he offers escort service. Yes it’s more money, but the value to you may be much higher and your expectations won’t be shattered when you discover he’s only mediocre at massage. At least you’re still going to have a great time. You can get a great massage from a skilled, if perhaps less attractive, man for a reasonable price any time.

I lived in an historic high rise downtown building in Dallas and occasionally clients had to pay for parking, maybe up to $10. Most of the time they could use the two hour free guest lot on the premises. The few exceptions applied for longer appointments, certain times, or the client preferred the paid lot for security. It made sense for me because my day job was walking distance away and my clients were seeing me traveling dozens of miles in every direction. Being central meant that none of them had to drive a long ways across to the other side of the metro area. Some complained about the parking, even here on the forums. Oh well. If that’s the worst they had to say, I am doing pretty good.

Since then I have taken the feedback and let it inform my choices. I have been very intentional about my studio location. It’s on a residential street in a nice safe neighborhood with ample free parking right in front. It’s new construction. The area is central to my new metro with convenient freeway access. Lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance too. I pay a significant premium for all these things. The client never pays for parking, never has to walk far along a low traffic street. ATMs from every major bank are a block or two away. Even a gay owned pub and whiskey bar is a block away for clients to enjoy before or after. It’s all by design, to be convenient for the client.

When I travel, I look for the same types of things, with client convenience in mind. I pay a premium for it too. Keep that in mind when you book traveling masseurs. The nicer the experience they provide regarding location, often the more they are paying out of their pocket to visit your city. You want quality.

Be willing to pay for quality, too. A so-so bed massage you pay $200 plus parking for is not the same as a pro massage from a good provider renting a house in a nice neighborhood with space for you to park for free and for him to set up a large table, towel warmer, etc. I argue those things are worth the $200 sticker price, assuming he does good work.

I don’t even charge that much myself. I charge my regular rates when I travel. Currently $150/hr. I stay booked and fill cancellations quickly because my value proposition is high and my cost is low. It’s easy to tip my services, and most do because you aren’t paying top of the budget prices to begin with. It feels better to me when a client willingly pays more to show their appreciation and support of my work. Better for him, better for me!

Please do tell us what you decide and how it goes.

Absolutely not.

If someone states their price, respect it and either book them or not.

Haggling appears to be an annoyance (and sometimes insulting), to many service providers.

Once a guy respond to you with his rate, a simple “Thank You”, is sufficient.

Then move on to someone who’s pricing is comparable to your standards of payment.

While I do not usually haggle, I see no harm in asking.  Most people here are of the opinion that this demeans the provider.  I raise the option that a client may truly not be able to afford the cost but is so enamored of the provider that he is hoping to have an opportunity to meet with him. For this, the potential client is willing to debase himself by asking for a more affordable price.

Sure one can always say, you should buy what you can afford, but if that were true, coupon makers and Groupon would be out of business.

Are such services appropriate to be linked with “affordability”?

You can ask, but don't be shocked if the experience is affected.

It's why I never continue a conversation when someone begins negotiation.  I thank them and move forward.

If you get your price, that's great, but it always going to be the elephant in the room with any escort with decent business sense.

Sure if you are horny and you have 250 dollars but not three hundred.  I recently bought a new car after a deer totaled my last vehicle.  I saw what I liked and talked with them and eventually it was too much money for me.  I found something I liked a little less but the savings was considerable.  If I were looking for an escort AND the monetary difference was of importance to me, I might ask the one that I prefer if we can strike a deal.  If he says no, then he says no.  It is not that his services are not worth what he is asking, it is that he may consider my offer for a wide variety of reasons of his own.  As I stated, I usually do not haggle with the car salesmen nor the escort, I am not comfortable with the process.  But if I was very horny and on a tight budget, I might feel differently.  I would not haggle just to get a better deal when the money is inconsequential.

When I had patients come into my office, I. at times,  would modify my off charge for a variety of personal reasons and if someone made it clear that the price was too steep for them, I would not consider it an insult, just a financial fact of life.  As a professional, I would never allow money to affect performance and I would expect the same of an escort who has agreed to a more affordable price.  Next time, if my finances are better, I may pay without question, the full price plus a nice tip for his previous consideration.    I just think that there is more than one kind of business sense and not giving a full effort is not one in which I would chose to engage.

Clearly you are fishing in deeper waters than I do.  But then again I usually fish the same old familiar holes.

When it comes down to it: if someone asked the average basketballer, movie actor, or “hot executive” for a paid fling, their prices would be something astronomical 🌙 ☀️

Granted $1,000 isn’t the typical price for an hour with an escort, however: it’s not unheard of throughout the overall industry with women and especially NYC. I have never worked the NYC market so I simply can’t comment on what’s usual or expected. But from just overall hearsay over time: any price would likely go.

I’ll also add: if you’re visiting someone, whether escort or client, it’s hardly ever necessary to use hotel parking downtown. However, I know the annoyances of trying to find parking in places like DC (your hotel actually had very easy parking that night…But my friend’s hotel closer to downtown, I was parking around the block, and paying something like $20 a day on the stupid parking app lol). Also Orlando hotel resorts often have no other options to park: except for their garages. There’s been times I’ve left with $40 subtracted from my rate, after a few hours or overnight. Denver street parking is super manipulative: you have to read 3 signs just to figure out whether it’s okay to park. By then, you’ve already gotten a ticket, maybe even a boot 🔐 lol.

The massage table debate often comes up but: it’s all down to Preference. I personally don’t feel a massage table is any easier than a well structured bed (there’s also ways to simulate a massage table but, I won’t reveal all my knowledge). Plus the phobia of a table collapsing, was  always on my mind. And like you said: I’m not carrying a table around, hotel to hotel, City to city. It’s too much. I already have lots of luggage, a table would be the equivalent to a pet crate. Not to mention the potential of being seen doing “business” out of a hotel, is not desired to be obvious.

But again, to each is own. That’s just my preference. Like I say, it sucks that sites like Adam 4 Adam have essentially gotten rid of “escort” and changed for massage. Also some people are so afraid of repercussions, that they’ll reach out to Masseur ads first, or say they’re looking for a massage, but have their Dick and ass included. Escort seems to be a term being phased out, thanks to politics 🤫
