Supplemental Charges Mid Session

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys -

Am new to all this and had something awkward happen during a recent session.

Was in the middle of some fun and provider ask for an additional $100 for something we discussed before he showed up.

I was a bit taken back and decided to focus on “wrapping things up” best I could on my own.  I cut the session short and sent him off.

Have you guys run into this?  Am curious how others would handle this type of situation.

I have never encountered this, but it's extremely unprofessional behavior.  I think you handled it correctly, i.e. finish up and send the guy packing as soon as you can without getting into a worse situation.

If you can, please post a link to the guys profile so the community knows to avoid this guy. Also, assuming you found the guy on RM, you should put a review on his profile and detail the attempt to shake you for more money.

Yeah that sucks. Bad enough when they try to "upsell" you, but something already agreed upon is bad.

Yeah, we’ve all been there. It’s a scam.

In that situation I abruptly cut the appointment short and pay a prorated fee for the time used.

The provider is shown the door and then blacklisted in my book.

Except he insisted I pay the fees up front which struck me as a red flag.

Sorry this happened to you but most of us have been there. You did the right thing. Some providers are just unprofessional. Please consider sharing a link to his profile or doing a review on RM.

Gave him a negative review on RM and now the ad is hidden or deleted.

🤔 seems they should be offering you a discount for you to blow them.  Especially if you are good at it!!

I agree with others on wrapping up and getting out of there. Good on you for writing a review.

It sounds like the OP scenario was for an escort. The following is in response to @KensingtonHomo’s comment regarding masseurs.

Regarding the BJ, it’s perfectly reasonable for anyone to charge you for sex work (and that is what it is). It doesn’t matter who is giving or receiving. It’s all the same.

Massage has an appropriate rate for it depending on your local market. If we had no boundaries on what we will do for a massage fee, every massage would essentially be underpriced sex work, or overpriced massage. We certainly have the latter available with the $200+/hr massage guys all over. The former you will find masseurs not charging extra but being picky about what they do with whom.

If you don’t want them to be picky, pay for the services you want. If what he quotes you is too much, pass. Don’t expect a masseur to give it all away for free to anyone who asks…for a reasonable massage fee. When he does, be a gracious client and tip him generously.

Giving the option for extras, in my book, is fine. Nobody is begging you to suck their dick as if you’re doing them a big favor. The service is about YOU and making YOU happy, whatever it looks like for YOU.

Big caveat here. Upselling is unprofessional. If you (client) are asking for extras and the masseur quotes you, no harm done. He has every right to say no or offer additional services for a fee. If he suggests or offers without any indication from you that you want extras, take it as a sign of unprofessional behavior and move on to better providers. Find them right here on CoM.

Provider and client should always have an agreement prior to the service.    I would never spring something on a client as far as renumeration in the middle of a session.

Agreement as to service and renumeration should be agreed prior to meeting.   I don't even like clarifications when meeting a client.    No surprises for either party.

I agree with you. I would never pressure someone to do something they aren't comfortable with. This happened when I was new to this, and now I am very explicit about what I expect and what I'll pay for it. This provider was charging the upper end of what is customary in NYC (which usually includes oral), so getting close to the end and throwing the upcharge in feels unfair.

Context matters, and pricing is part of the context. To your point, he was already charging on the high end of the spectrum in your market at the time, so you would be justified in expecting more than a massage, although nobody is obligated to do anything that wasn’t explicitly discussed beforehand. Giving or receiving oral seems more than reasonable given the context.

I’ve experienced all this often though not with regulars

i used to think overchargong providers were sending a message “I don’t want to see you again” … but I now realize the profession is full of those who don’t see the big / longterm picture and an extra $50-$100 is worth more to them than potentially thousands lost in future donations

And rookie mistake: never forget that a gift horse is usually more expansive than if you actually wanted and ordered it before the session. so a free inclusion of a Buddy or extra time etc can be a costly gift to accept.

It's unprofessional in an escort setting. In a massage setting, I think that some providers use the massage thing as cover for escorting, hence the upselling for additional services. I have been offered additional services for additional charges, and I have said no since I am satisfied with what was agreed, and he did delivered what we agreed. I have also said yes, and got a little more escorting type of service in addition to the massage, and I have been ok. Otherwise, like Simon mentioned, not upselling some extras might be underpriced escorting. There's no absolute rule for any of this, so it's not easy to standarize the practice.

However, an escort interrupting a session of what it is already expected and negotiated, to just ask for more money is not only unprofessional, but it gives the provider a bad reputation, In these times where communication is easier, reviews are available and places like this forum exist, it's just bad enterpreneurship for providers to incur in that practice.

Noble but it doesn’t track reality

I’ve lost track of how many times providers have attempted to start a conversation during our meeting with   “I know we talked about x,y,z …but …”

Maybe clients do this as well.
