Age shaving? How much is too much and what's acceptable?

This biggest concern with age should be ensuring that the person is of legal age to engage with. Other than that, people are simply being petty.

There is nothing petty about pointing out that someone pushing 50 years old is promoting himself as 39, as in the case of Peter Latz aka PETEMUSCLE.
Lying so blatantly is never okay....  unless you are Jack Benny.

I don’t know. But he seems to be aging well. The pictures showing an iPhone with  3 cameras are at maximum 4 years old. There were no iPhones with 3 cameras before that.

I think most of us realize many masseurs shave their age. So many guys never age beyond 29 yo on their profiles. lol. Personally,  I think 4-5 years should probably be the limit when it comes to “creative accounting,” but it’s really pushing it when the number goes beyond that for me. Then masseurs risk negative comments and reviews for not being honest with clients.

Incidentally I just met an 18 yo, I said I am 50 and he replied, oh you look younger. It made my day. But then I thought his reference point is his father, a straight family man who doesn't care about dermatology and surgery.

Yes, I knew there was a thread about this topic but I felt it only fair to share my observation about the escort being recommended in the other thread just in case anyone read it who did not realize that the guy was significantly older than claimed.  I think those of us who have lived in the San Francisco area for a long time (or even visited here regularly) know that his stated age is wildly off, but if someone is new to hiring or new to the area they might have no idea that this 39 year old is actually old enough to be collecting social security.

I think this guy tested the waters of claiming to be 40 on a couple of occasions, but then reverted to 39 pretty quickly each time.  I get there is ageism and thus I can understand an early 40s shaving his age to still show up in searches when the search results are limited to 39 and under, but when it gets to be decades shaved off one's age it just isn't tenable no matter how good one looks.

I go for twunks, but in fact I don't care how old the "boy" actually is...If he looks and acts the part, that's all I care. If he looks 25 but is actually 40, I don't care. However if he posts pictures of him at 25 when he looks 40, I care a lot. It helps that I go for Asians, who tend to maintain youthful looks longer than many others, and, in their culture, age is often revered. Works all the way around.

I live in San Francisco where there are many providers who were born in Asia and grew up in families with the values of the old country. These are the young men I am attracted to and who provide wonderful service to this old goat. My observation is that the next generation tend to be wholly Americanized. Sigh.

Since I was at college, the majority my initial gay contacts were Asian. I regret not settling down with one of the pre-med students who later became rich doctors 😄

I have also found Asian guys (ones not born in the U.S.) to be more responsible, honest, and serious. On the downside, that means their first priority was usually their studies or their jobs. And a lot of Asian countries have a stigma against being gay, which causes some damage. I had a (straight) college roommate from Taiwan who was openly homophobic, and another friend from Taiwan who couldn't come to terms with his sexuality until he was in his 40s.

And they do look younger - guys in their 40s can easily pass for 20s/30s. And since many gay guys have a "preference" against them, they're very flattered when contacted via Grindr.

Of course, the Americanized ones have no such culture - there's only one Asian escort I met, and I stopped hiring him after he stood me up and pretended he wasn't.

I am proud to have arrived at 55 years old this fall. I survived while several friends have passed over the years. Though I looked older (about 3-4 years older) when I was younger because of my muscular body, people always though I was in college when in high school. That lasted my entire life.

I presume he kept his back to me when I entered his studio, so that it was difficult for me to see (how old) his face, his distended belly, and shrunken chest.

I'll note in this case (since so many posts above mention) that the provider was Asian.   I wondered afterwards, "were those his son's pics?", but ultimately was convinced his were just really, really old pics, and he was a ridiculously outrageous age shaver.

And the massage stunk!  😆😆

The silver lining was how, on the drive home, I took time to be thankful for all the awesome massages I've had from honest providers of varying ages.

I've never met @BenjaminNicholas but I've always heard nothing but good things about him. He also constantly post new up-to-date pictures of himself.

He does look like someone in his late 30's or early 40's and that's despite the fact that most gingers don't age well

It takes work to age well.

You have to really think ahead, starting in your 20s.  Most guys don't.

You cannot airbrush your age in real life.  You either look good or you don't.
