Not current, but reading this, reminiscing... every porn actor I was with was either very good or excellent.   But I don't recall any of them charging a premium rate... so that's probably different.  

Knowing my own values and reactions, I'd probably decline a rentguy who quoted a premium rate because "I'm a pornstar, I'm worth more."

I hired him in his earlier years. He was active on this site for quite some time. In his later years, he took on some rather sanctimonious attitudes, particularly when it came to his veganism. But I definitely enjoyed my time with him. From way back Eric Manchester and Brad Phillips were other great lays in the SF area. Once again, I wish I could thank them. Also Alex Carrington and Brad Stone. I think the latter was El Salvadoran, or perhaps from some other Central American country.

I hired Draven Navarro and he was worth it. I think it depends on if the porn star escort you hire matches your vibe. Draven was a bottom and a sub, so I had good time with him. Prior to discovering this board, I hired a number of guys who were established porn stars specifically because I had seen their video performances and/or magazine spreads (yes, that means this goes back a ways) and thought them hot.  Maybe I just got lucky, but I had a satisfactory or better experience with all of them, and at least a few, including Rafael Alencar and Josh Weston, I hired more than once.

Since finding this board, I've used the wisdom here to avoid hiring anyone who did not have consistent endorsements and, again, have had satisfactory or better experiences with all those I've hired, but the feedback on this board has kept me from hiring quite a number of guys who I might have otherwise hired just based on my reaction to their looks and video performances.  Also, the porn performer premium, which used to be typically about $50/hour, has now grown to the point that a lot of these guys are more expensive than I'm willing to pay.

Your experience is probably more  typical than not, which is why I steer clear of porn stars, hot OF/JFF types, and perfect looking younger boys in general. 

Although… had I been given the chance, I would have hired Jason Branch in a heartbeat.

My experience has been mixed. Generally I steer clear of pornstars but but in the early days tried a few because I trusted them more for some odd reason. I was so inexperienced just being in their presence was enough for me. Most were nice enough but the experience was not any more memorable than anyone else. One thing that I did not enjoy….a couple were really stuck on themselves.  That’s a turn off for me, no matter how hot you are.

Another advantage of hiring porn stars--in my many years of hiring, I've never had a porn star be flaky, not do what he was supposed to, ask for money in advance, or not look like his photos. And I've probably hired about 25 porn stars through the years. They usually cost somewhat more, but worth it for my peace of mind.

Many or maybe most of the guys I see were pornstars, who of course make much more money escorting than porn pays now. I can see the transition.

But I don't get why guys starting as escorts don't do porn, even for free, just for the amazing advertising and increased rates and clients it furnishes.

I think of porn studios porn actors as "porn stars" and all the others as social media although actually you can google either to see any sex scenes they've done for free pretty easily. People are 100 times more likely to hire someone they've seen having sex than a pig in a poke. (i guess that's an Americanism).
