How old is too old for this event?

I never felt a question of age regarding the event. Basically it was organized for Forum members to meet each other after having known each other through their writings and picture postings during the year. I have never felt I was going to pick up other Forum members. Except after having met other members occasionally you lay the framework of meeting each other elsewhere to keep the Weekend relationship going. Of course, as mentioned elsewhere, there are escorts who attend but if you have a connection and come to an agreement to get together age generally has no bearing on whether you can get together. If age is a factor in those circumstances there would not be an agreement to begin with. I have found that the workers who come do not have much of a problem with age and actually are drawn toward more mature gentlemen (for whatever reason). I have also found the organizers of the event wisely try to mix all the groups up so that everyone gets to talk to each other and then decide for themselves who they want to hang around.

'Safe' isn't a binary and like safer sex, it's not a matter of it being 'safe' or 'unsafe', but rather safer or less safe. I think it's safe to assume that there would be some protection from a first injection but that it would develop slowly so may not be measurable before the time the second jab is due. One or two jabs, protection will not be immediate and it won't be a silver bullet. I can't see either the advice on mask, distancing, hand washing and cough etiquette, or the willingness of many people to be less cautious about those measures changing for some time after the vaccinations are rolled out, if ever.

As you mentioned one can assume that there is not immediate protection after one gets an injection. It appears that one of the main differences between the Pfizer and the Moderna vaccines is that there is a three week waiting period to get the second dose for the Pfizer and a 4 week waiting period for the Moderna. However, I have not really seen any discussion about how long it takes for the body to create the antibodies (or whatever it does) such that the 90% level of protection is achieved. A person may have to wait weeks such that the body catches up to the vaccine that has been given. And of course I am sure it differs depending on a lot of different factors. But have they discussed what the generalities have been?

Isn’t 90 percent protection for an individual meaningless in the sense that if you have the vaccine and are subsequently exposed to the virus and contract the disease, you were not protected at all. You just fell in the10 percent of the population that the vaccine couldn’t help.

I once needed an Operation to save the sight in my left eye. I asked the doctor what my chances were and he said 90 percent. I agreed to the procedure, which was relatively new then (laser surgery in 1975) and I was in the lucky 90 percent.

Different strokes for different folks.

Participation in this hobby is what ties attendees at this event together more than any other factor. I've enjoyed talking to gentlemen nearly 25 years my senior as well as 25 years younger at the pool party.

FWIW, I know my patron base is typically 25 years older than me, so if it's safe to go and you'd like to spend the weekend in PS with like minded individuals, you should go.

I don't want to speak for others, but for me, my patrons typically are 20+ years older than me. I've only had a few patrons in the last 5 years that were younger than me. Moreover, as a provider, I've always felt there wasn't a place for ageism, and I suspect many other escorts are of a similar mindset (IMO).

In my trips to these forum gatherings (and the other travels I've had in conjunction with them) the men I've met have been 20 or more years younger than me, and none of them has shown the slightest hesitation in meeting me. Others I've simply chatted with at the gatherings have engaged with me on twitter. That said, I never assume anyone is open to a meeting, and ask. For most, ageism doesn't come into it.

As I've said before, if it's safe, I'll be there again.

Why the last opportunity??? Are you leaving the biz? Say it isn't so.

As much as I still enjoy the biz - and I still do - since mid-March, I've only had a couple of clients, as I need to to think about the health and safety of others in my life. So, I'm not sure what that marketplace's response will be when it's safer to see patrons again. Hopefully there will be some pent-up demand (? if you will), but it's possible the marketplace may have shifted.

I, for one, can say that I've got lots of pent-up "demand" and am already plotting all the different ways to satisfy it!

That’s a good question. Maybe if the buyers include a payment for “goodwill” they will honour previous commitments to clients. If not, probably forget it. Most buyers of successful ongoing businesses pay an amount, often considerable, for Goodwill.

If it’s a distress sale, that signals that the business is not making money and the buyers will be loath to pay for an intangible like goodwill. They are just interested in the real estate.
