The potty rules seem very difficult to migrate.
    1) Do I clench my pearls if I think there is sex afoot?
    2) Do I clench my pearls if I think a FTM is next to me?
    3) Both?
    4) Am I ever allowed to do my business and just leave, regardless of who is next to me, or what I think is afoot?

EXACTLY!!!  And if you read the whole story linked above it references the 2022 court settlement where the Port Authority "used discriminatory practices with plainclothes officers, falsely arresting and accusing gay, bisexual and gender nonconforming people of public lewdness and exposure in the terminal’s men’s restrooms because of their actual or perceived sexual orientation. The settlement suspended the practice, required LGBTQ+ sensitivity training and found multiple officers and the Port Authority liable for violating the Fourth and 14th Amendments."

If you're so damn fragile that you need tranquility to take a shit, get yourself a cheap hotel room nearby, or schedule a visit with a gastroentrologist.
If 600,000 people go through Penn Station each day, I can't imagine the public bathroom at Penn Station is a tranquil, relaxing, spa like experience. When a commuter needs to use a public bathroom, he is likely headed to a dirty, crowded space, with lots of people coming and going. A commuter should be entitled to decide who he exposes his naughty bits to inside a stall and not be exposed to federal authorities sneaking a peak through cracks and crevices.
Let's hope these arrests result in voyeurism lawsuits and the government pays out and gets the message.

Did you all read the last 3 paragraphs of that article ???
Seems to me the only thing allowing these tactics to proceed is that the 2022 court case was against state actors.

    Did my mom take Tylenol?
I’m sure she did. I mean what with all the hangovers from the smoking and boozing.
How the hell do you think she got pregnant in the first place?
Thanks Parliament, Jack Daniels, and Tylenol for making me the man I am today!

My mom smoked. My mom drank. My mom threw us in the back of the station wagon with no seatbelts. We ran around barefoot all summer, and swam for hours in a dirty river. How we survived I'll never know. But I figured it out. It was her always hugging me, telling me she loved me, that must have made me gay. Of course all that female affection sent me straight to the dick. Thanks, Mom.

My mom didn't need to... knowing she was carrying such an amazing little human kept her happy, smiling, and pain-free for her entire pregnancy.
She's been gone 20+ years so this is an educated guess that I am unable to confirm.

Good luck finding a cheap hotel room in midtown NYC!

And the best part—no concessions other than “discussions”. Why? Because they were WRONG (and grossly misjudged the situation). The vast majority of Americans, including BTC and BSR, value free speech. This means valuing speech we disagree with. Indeed, those in power today owe it to free speech; they could never have overcome the abuses of the PC/cancel culture dynamics without it. Say what you need to, win over others in the marketplace of ideas, but don’t get lazy and suppress. The ends never justify the means. Never.

Typically when I know someone well enough to share personal details about my life, I know them well enough to ask their thoughts on what I shared. Especially if it's my BF, or if I get a response from anyone else that I didn't expect or  understand.

I don't think it's something I would share in a work situation, or even in casual conversation with friends.
I prefer using it only as the subject-changer at the uncomfortable family Thanksgiving dinner table. Embellishing the newest story, gesturing with a turkey leg, always does the trick.

The way I read what you wrote, the guy was either turned on by the idea of hiring an escort or he felt insecure and wondered how he lived up to your experiences with escorts.  In any event, unless the guy was talking about it in a negative/judgmental way I wouldn't let this issue derail getting to know him.

I've helped my regulars or guys I hoped would become regulars with advances for specific needs.  I paid one guy's expenses for a summer study abroad (tuition was paid by a scholarship) which I got back in services in the fall, another was a photographer who got a big job for which he needed some specialty equipment so I paid him for half a dozen sessions in advance, etc.  I don't think I would ever pay in advance an escort who I hadn't met, though.  Too big a chance of being scammed.

I would definitely not do it for someone I have not met at least a hand full of times.  I am likely not to do it for someone I know and trust - it is a great way to ruin a good thing. You do you, but be aware that the odds are not in your favor.

I would only do it for a guy in whom I’d developed trust during multiple (5-6) previous visits.   I wouldn’t do it for a new provider or someone I’d only seen sporadically.

+ APPLE1 reacted to Whippoorwill in What is it with unsolicited groping among gay men?
It's called reading the room. Gay bars, baths, clubs, etc. are places to be with other gay men...that's why they exist, that's why we go there. What each of us are looking for at any moment in any venue, we generally signal with our body language, our dress, our eyes, etc. It takes being alert to what we are signaling to others, and what they are signaling to us. Mistakes are made...but take it as a learning experience, both ways.
