I swear my computer is haunted. Shortly after I post to this thread this morning, this comes up in my Feed:

Eric Roberts gets what I'm saying. "Dime store-ish." That's where we're at.

I have no experience hiring escorts, except many people have told me that HE massage therapists are precisely that. Still, the notion that there is an exclusive club of Oxford graduates, perhaps those handsome characters in the movie Maurice, that cater to wealthy men via word-of-mouth, and charge a fortune for their elevated experience, is nothing more than a Merchant-Ivory romantic fantasy. "If you have to ask the price, then you can't afford the service." LOL. Sounds like some 1980's tag line created on Madison Avenue, from a sales agent who believed his shit didn't stink.

When it comes to shopping for sex, do men really care about the college credits and the gene pool of the guys they hire? How much of an escort's background is actually knowable? Do their CVs also get passed along by underground word-of-mouth?

I suspect most men hire based on looks first, including men like Geffen. Most men want what they normally can't have by simple mutual attraction. After that, it's usually a particular turn-on that facilitates a sale. Sure, if you're doing an overnight or an extended vacation, you want all of the above, and maybe some chemistry and humor mixed in. You definitely don't want to hire a homeless drug addict, although it wouldn't surprise me if that might be a fetish for some billionaires.

Models and actors have come forward commenting that the "velvet mafia" (really rich reclusive gay men) have house parties to find paid companions, especially those working in the entertainment industry. The young men are invited under the ruse of "networking" but they're actually being paraded to the rich producers and the like. Some of them will be gently proposed to join other parties until eventually they start getting offers for paid companionship from these rich producers. It's never referred to as escort or rentman, but it's the very same. These are all guys that would never think about putting up a Rentmen ad or doing porn. It's hard to gauge the actual number of money they are paid as these guys are also paid in favors, vacations, material gifts,...

But there is definitely a rich echelon of gay men using their resources to get more exclusive paid companions.

Is there a site, outside of RM, that contains generally older (35-50), well educated, more sophisticated than typical, escorts? Someone comfortable in a social/professional setting or vacation travel spanning several days? Someone just as comfortable as your date at a corporate social function in a coat and tie as he is sitting quietly by a pool reading a book while keeping you company.p

I think you’d be surprised how many of us - regular old Rent Men escorts - are actually well educated, with real degrees from reputable higher education institutions.  Some of us wear suits well and move comfortably among sophisticated crowds, even without  being on the arm of a generous gentleman.  Many of us even read books!

I think you have more options for this than you may realize.  I can easily name a handful of escorts I know in person who fit this description.  Including myself!  😏

Happy hunting!  I’m confident the guy you’re looking for is out there.

I agree that doing detailed due diligence and interviews on RM is probably the best solution. Searching for a secret society of providers that doesn’t want to be found is a fool’s errand. I know some providers that have professional careers in other industries, and only escort part-time for a little extra cash or even amusement. It just takes a lot of searching to find the right one and it’s easier if you’re in a major market.

Most of the wealthy people I've encountered in my life are cheap as hell.

Personal experiences tell me that this is largely true.  Just because someone has a lot of something (i.e. $$$) doesn't mean that he's interested in sharing it.  Alternatively, some may argue that these people are wealthy because they are cheap.

My former partner had a good friend who once worked for Leona Helmsley. She was notorious for being cheap, and telling everyone who would listen that this is how she got rich. Yet, in her will, she left $12 million to her dog, Trouble, which a NY judge later reduced to $2 million. Wealthy people can be crazy. My gut tells me that most of them are.

Mixing sex and "work" may be a ruse of the past. Me-Too continues to have impact. All it takes is one participant to go rogue, and careers and reputations end. I won't even mention lawsuits.

Wherever power exists, especially in show business, seduction won't be far behind. There will always be ambitious people, male and female, who will jump at the chance to get paid for sex in exchange for a career opportunity.

Well written, with such a friendly tone. If I could afford it, I would take this handsome guy to Alan David, and treat him to a bespoke suit.

I had an escort tell me of an offer to be on call for a billionaire in exchange for a luxury apartment in NYC and all the expenses paid plus a stipend.  He had to be exclusive and available at short notice.  He did not like the indentured servant aspect of this.  He also told me of other very wealthy, some billionaires, that used his services.

This gentlemen would definitely meet the requirements the initial poster wanted and he used to be on Rentmen until leaving the business after a long and I assume lucrative career.

Such an interesting question, @BCMan

I don't know that there's such a website, aside from perhaps Seeking.com (which has its own limits).

That said, some thoughts...

  • it sounds like forum contributor @BenjaminNicholas would deftly meet this criteria.
  • you might explore the offerings of LuxeMentor;
  • and depending on your location (and height requirements), I'd endorse James Dumont for your consideration.

And I'll be interested to see which other providers come to mind for other forum contributors...

"I'd endorse James Dumont for your consideration."

He wears high-end clothes, but is it really true that "clothes make the man?"

Maybe I just have romantic notions about "super high-end escorts," but to me he would be a guy who charges so much that if you have to ask what he charges, you can't afford him.  I always ask my guys what they charge and I can always afford it, so I guess, by my own definition, they aren't super high-end, but I they satisfy me.

The notion that wealthy men would pay escorts massive amounts of money to go to dinner or an entertainment venue (and never have sex) with them sounds overblown. I'm sure there are clients out there who would do it, but they're in the slim minority.

Who said that wealthy men would pay massive sums of money to go to dinner with a high-end male companion?  Did I miss something?
