+ 7829V Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I’ve been hiring masseurs for several years now: sensual, erotic, therapeutic, at spas, at resorts, men, women, you name it. And never, ever has a masseur used latex gloves to massage me. Until recently. It struck me as odd. Maybe it was a germaphobe thing or just a personal quirk, but it felt unusual. Has anyone else experienced this before? Or is it common and I’ve just been lucky that it never happened to me until now? Here’s the post about the masseur who used gloves: https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/162729-javier-50869-in-los-angeles-visiting-san-diego/#comment-2509148 + JamesB, + Just Chuck, marylander1940 and 4 others 4 2 1
+ JamesB Posted September 14 Posted September 14 You’re definitely a better person than me. If I see gloves, they’d better be for a prostate massage… otherwise, I’m out the door. + Just Chuck, Bobozn, + Vegas_Millennial and 5 others 1 3 4
Nightowl Posted September 14 Posted September 14 The feel and sound of gloves squeaking against my skin would ruin any massage experience, therapeutic or otherwise. + 7829V, soloyo215, Whippoorwill and 3 others 4 2
marylander1940 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Weird! Unless the provider was playing nurse or doctor... + Pensant, + 7829V, Whippoorwill and 2 others 3 2

Yes, gloves the entire time, everywhere. Shoulders, back, legs, even calves and thighs. Nothing bare-handed at all. Definitely a first for me, and one I never want to repeat. marylander1940, Whippoorwill, Nightowl and 4 others 2 2 2 1

jeezifonly Posted September 15 Posted September 15 In legit physical therapy it's not uncommon, but hiring sensual it's outside the norm. If it was for the protection of the client, say if he had a last-minute cut or burn on his hand, I would expect a simple disclosure with the option of free rescheduling. + Pensant and + 7829V 1 1
soloyo215 Posted September 15 Posted September 15 I hope they weren't gardening gloves. I agree that he might not be in the right line of work. There's no way I'll allow it. I don't pay to feel like I am a Petri dish full of germs. That's not going to fly with me. Whippoorwill and Nightowl 2
maninsoma Posted September 15 Posted September 15 (edited) I hope that if this happened to me that I would first ask why the guy was using gloves. If he told me he detected something on my skin that he was worried was contagious, I could tell him that my dermatologist hasn't mentioned anything but that I would get it checked out. I'd then give him a very small amount for the small amount of time he spent with me and I'd be on my way. Assuming my dermatologist confirmed his suspicions, I'd contact him again to thank him and ask to hire him again, with a generous tip, if he was so inclined. If he told me he just does it as a general precaution, I'd leave without paying him anything. Edited September 15 by maninsoma + 7829V, + Pensant, Whippoorwill and 2 others 5
NYXboy Posted September 17 Posted September 17 yes I must admit the first thing I thought of is that perhaps you had/have some kind of skin condition the provider was worried about?
+ Drew Collins Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Happened to me once. Maybe 25 years ago in Los Angeles. I was young, a bit naive, and rarely spoke up for myself enough. That was then; this is now. 😉 I would not tolerate that again. Too clinical and detracts from the human connection I need from a thorough massage. Whippoorwill, thomas, soloyo215 and 2 others 5
Whippoorwill Posted Sunday at 06:41 PM Posted Sunday at 06:41 PM Slightly off topic, but I have getting PT and the therapist wears rubber gloves and a mask. I hate it because he is a very cute 20-something year old hunk, and just my type. I can't figure if he is gay or straight. I see him through my HMO at no charge, and he is doing wonders with my issue. We are both fully clothed and doing nothing in the nether regions, but I really hate the barrier to touch. I have concluded he really needs to get the bejesus fucked out of him so he's not so germaphobic. Unfortunately, that won't happen with me.
+ Balthazar Posted Monday at 09:22 AM Posted Monday at 09:22 AM A masseur used gloves for an HE within the past couple of years or so. He didn't wear gloves for the rest of the massage. If I ever see him again, I'll skip the HE. The gloved HE did not resonate with me.
Thelatin Posted Monday at 03:02 PM Posted Monday at 03:02 PM I used to see a guy who has essentially wrecked his nerve endings with ghb and perhaps gabapentin or the combination of the two. He's constantly putting on gloves for the pain.
Muscleking Posted Tuesday at 01:23 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:23 PM I’ve been to some lads that use gloves doesn’t really bother me usually they have used it when giving a prostate massage or HE, but never my full body.
