Well....even though BOTH my wife and I have plenty experience with homosexual relationships in our 20's NEITHER of us introduced the concept of same-sex relations to our children until they were about 10.

I think lots of people start parenting with mainstream social expectations and then integrate the exceptions-to-the-rule as they are more mature and able to understand abstracted concepts. 

So, not sure WHICH grandchild Snoop is referring to...but it could be more of an age appropriate issue than a purely "homophobic" one.

And why do illiterate celebrities actually teach their children and grandchildren to be illiterate? With their million$ they could hire the best tutors to teach them ENGLISH. When that kid grows up Snoop is going to have to explain a lot worse than this...

It’s kind of ironic, because there was a video clip of him saying how he would love to be in the middle of the three way kiss between Britney and Madonna after their 2003 vma performance. Plus the language in his rap lyrics aren’t exactly kid friendly either. How’s he going to explain that to his grandkids?

I’d much rather be in the position of explaining love to a child than explaining hate. Explaining love is a gift. Explaining hate is a burden, and too much of Snoop’s own catalog has already glorified the latter.

Not exceptional for a straight man to say that. It is a straight fantasy to be between two hot women in bed. That should not be confused with gay friendly behavior.

I agree with him. He didn't say anything wrong. I do not support lgbt characters and themes in children's entertainment. 

 

Perhaps if the Logo network or Pink News wants to produce their own programming and then parents can choose to show that to their kids. 👍

So what do you think the neighbors of gay couples with or without children should be telling their children?  Pretend those neighbors don't exist until the children are "old enough"?  Should parents prevent their children until they're "old enough" from watching any of the gazilion celebrity-oriented TV shows or Youtube videos in case they show any of the multitude of gay celebrities and gay celebrity couples, again, with or without children?  How old is "old enough"?  Or should we have gay-free housing zones for people who don't want their children to see gay couples with children and have to answer any questions?

Reminds me of the don't say gay bill in Florida a few years ago. Says way more about the parents and the bigots pushing it then it ever did about the kids who could care less other then mild curiosity.

My wife and I have gay neighbors with a child. We pretended they didnt exist until our kids were at least 18.

You make a good point and I can offer ONE answer. YES we DO actually have gay (male) neighbors with a kid. My kids have always invited their kid to birthday parties. (They're about two years apart in age). I would say our kids never questioned the two-dads issue until they were about 9. So I suppose THAT is when they are "old enough". When they want to know.

I dont agree with that assessment. Snoop does genuinely have gay friends and is definitley not homophobic. I dont know him personally but through six-degrees-of-separation, I know people who do..and I've always understood him to be very gay friendly. As far as his comment, as a parent myself, I feel his pain. No matter how many dicks I sucked in my 20s, I tried to mainstream my kids when they were young. Not gonna claim that was right or wrong...but just what people do. And I think when youre an out-of--the-box character like Snoop-dog, he probably feels that he owes his grandchildren the right to have grandpa just be a "normal" grandpa. So...I personally believe the apology is genuine.

I am sure he was probably trying to be funny. I brought my nieces (the younger was 9) to Lightyear and no one cared about how two moms have kids. I didn't think it was a good movie; the creators seemed more concerned with representation than character development, but the kids really liked it. If I had been asked, I would have said, "Adoption," though I don't remember if she is ever shown as pregnant.

I don't listen to his music, so I don't really care, as long as he is kind to gays who work with and for him. However, he should know better than to say that sort of stuff in public.

He also didn't say anything wrong. As a mixed race person myself I'm tired of the obvious interracial agenda in the media, which isn't even statistically significant, and tired of seeing white women become single mothers because of such unions. They should know by now! Lol. It's a constant trope so many people love laughing at.

Lefties especially fail to see how such representation continues to objectify us and harm us. How the hell are non-white kids supposed to view themselves when in the media they're constantly seeing their own race date others, mostly White men and women?

Parents can tell their kids whatever they want. That is not for us to decide.

Children are malleable, and I don't believe lgbt lifestyles should be presented to them. If parents want to, then they should choose what their kids see. They're the parents not us. I live under the lgbt umbrella so I have every right to express to people and parents what I see and what I experienced, and trust me I do. ✌️

So another twist to this ongoing story. Apparently Snoop’s representative, says he never apologized for making the anti-lgbt comments. He says the apology was fake and done by someone else. I don’t know what to believe at this point! 😮
