no, not that size!

I'm talking about height.

I'm not tall nor am I a shrimp. I hit about 5'6 1/2" on a good day and I tell people I'm 5'7" and no one ever gives me a hard time (no pun intended).

I saw a massage provider recently who advertised as 6'1". That's a great height given that resting my head on a guy's pec is one of my favorite things. Granted, that only happens with a hug hello and goodbye with a masseur.

The provider I saw was maybe 5'10 or 5'11. He was great and I'll definitely repeat.

But I'm just wondering if anyone else runs into height discrepancies?

Yes, some providers are definitely adding inches to their height. We saw a guy recently who said he was 6' on his profile. I'm 5'11" and he was at best 5'9".

I do think that gay male ideas of beauty are so stringent that many providers think that if they're outside of it, no one will hire them. So they fib. I also suspect they're trying to be included when people select 6' as their minimum height on RM. Same with age shaving.

Now, I tend to prefer men taller than me, but someone being 5'9" if they were otherwise hitting all my desired traits wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Reminds me of the hot guy I met at a leather bar. He was wearing knee high boots and was a good 3 inches taller than me. When we got to my apartment and the boots came off, either he also had lifts in his boots or I was so fucked up, but anyhow, he “dropped” in height considerably. But he was a fun ride.

I filled out forms saying I was 5'11" for decades because my peak height as a young adult was close to 5'11.5".  I had read that people get a bit shorter as they age, but I had never bothered to measure myself again until recently and height measurement isn't something that's routinely done elsewhere (unless you're arrested and they are doing a mug shot).  I was sad to discover that my height is closer to 5'10" now.

I've probably shrunk in my old age, but for a long time I was exactly 5'9" and was fine telling people that, but I switched to saying I'm 5'10" after I kept meeting guys barely an inch taller than me who claimed to be six feet tall.

Lying about vertical-ness is so commonplace, I expect it. I'm very short, so when a guy claims to be 5 foot 10 and is barely taller than I am, I'm elated, but certainly wonder why so many men feel they will be rejected if they list a height they feel is too short. I suppose same with cock length, also.

The term "height queen" isn't nearly as much of a thing as size queen, but unfortunately plenty of men have a bar they refuse to limbo under.

As others say, if he looks like his pic, the rest can be worked with.

Ditto. An advantage of being short is that I never hired a guy who was taller than me, even if they exaggerated their height.

Another advantage is that anyone I ever dated was also taller than me. I always wondered if that was the reason my boyfriend(s) tend to be short, but not shorter than me.

Providers who do this are gaming the filter settings, so they’ll show up in your search if you’re filtering out guys under 6’. They know you’re not likely to walk away at the front door when you see that they’ve lied by an inch or three. I certainly never have.

This is great news to me as I enjoy men of various heights but in general prefer shorter. I usually screen OUT guys over 6 ft.

but of course have also met some lovely hot people over 6’
