Popular Post Cooper Posted February 17 Popular Post Posted February 17 Gentlemen, The moderators could use your help. Many of the reports we receive deal with merging threads, usually about providers, and moving threads to the correct forum. Before posting a message or starting a new thread, please check to see if the topic is in the correct forum or thread. If it’s regarding a provider check that the topic is not already being discussed in a previous thread. Everyday we are merging threads and moving them from the Deli to the Spa or to Questions. Remember, each forum has a brief description of what topics it covers. If you are reporting a thread that needs to be merged, always include a link to the other thread. Also, always include a reason for submitting your report. Thanks to all members who follow these guidelines and contact us when action is required. Peter3333, DMICS, + WestGuy and 58 others 38 11 13

+ glutes Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Mayor Cooper, I agree. Some new folks (and old) don't know to use the search function at the top right corner. Thank you and your fellow mods for your work and patience. Asterisk, + Charlie, marylander1940 and 2 others 2 3

There is one thing that I don't like about the search feature for sure. It defaults to search just "this topic" when you are in a thread or if you're in "the deli" for instance but not in a thread and hit search it'll just search that specific forum. I wish it always defaulted to search "Everywhere". It's easy to think there isn't a thread about something if you forget to change it to "Everywhere". jsn102, liubit, Whippoorwill and 11 others 5 7 2

I think this change would definitely help prevent duplicate threads. Have it default to "everywhere" all the time. Ali Gator, Asterisk, + 7829V and 1 other 2 1 1

rvwnsd Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Just a quick plug for the "Ask a Moderator" forum. Questions, concerns, and suggestions about the site and the way it does or doesn't work are more likely to get the mods and admins attention when posted to "Ask a Moderator." PS: We also get a plethora of reports about posting in the wrong forum, hijacking threads, and off-topic posts. + Just Sayin, Asterisk and + Charlie 3
Asterisk Posted February 18 Posted February 18 (edited) Many many thanks to the moderators performing the yeoman's work -- necessary to keep things orderly! Second, may I suggest updating the header for The Deli forum? The Deli seems to attract a lot of off-topic threads, so maybe repeating the topic and including a reminder of other folders would be helpful? Right now, it essentially says "An area to discuss providers" and then two rules which describe what it no longer is. Perhaps update The Deli's header to "An area to discuss specific providers in the United States and Canada. Providers elsewhere may be discussed in the Destinations subfolders. Topics that are not provider-specific are discussed in Questions about Hiring. Spas and Masseurs are discussed in that folder. Community Guidelines continue to apply, and as always, please contribute to an existing thread rather than duplicate -- the Search box is located in the upper right corner." p.s.: I agree that resetting the Search default to "everywhere" rather than "this topic" would be helpful. p.p.s.: I would also create a "United States" and "Canada" subfolder in Destinations, and direct non-provider-specific topics there (like "best provider in St Louis"): essentially, make The Deli the "who" and Destinations the "where." Also, I would shift non-provider-specific topics to Questions about Hiring (like "Best tongue in the biz" and "Who will I like best?"). Beefing up other folders, while keeping The Deli focused, might encourage new users to explore more and not use The Deli as a junk drawer that the moderators need to sort out daily. My two cents. Whippoorwill Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Asterisk’s comments are right on. The name “The Deli” is insiders speak. And the description is more about what it isn’t than what it is. Perhaps rename it “Specific Providers in the US and Canada “ and follow with the description as Asterisk suggests. How is it different from “Spas & Masseurs”? By Provider do you intend to mean escorts and by Masseur do you intend to mean individuals who are primarily masseurs with all the inherent wiggle room there is in those definitions? And how about the little used category of “Male Strip Clubs.” Isn’t this really about “Venues “ …but then how does it differ from half of “Spas and Masseurs “. And what does the title Daddy’s Den” mean and help with understanding the categories? I love COM and am really grateful to those of you who do so much work to keep it up. But I find the organization very confusing. My 2 cents. Asterisk, + Charlie and Nightowl 1 2

jackcali Posted March 6 Posted March 6 This isn't really relevant to this discussion, but I am not sure where else to put this. Has there been a change in how threads that have or haven't been read are indicated? In the past, the titles of threads that I've read were not in bold and easily distinguished from titles of threads I haven't. Now they just seem less bold and, for my failing eyes at least, it's much harder to distinguish between the two. Thanks for reading.

+ outlaer Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Agreed. Would help a lot if there were a way to discretely indicate home city, perhaps via a drop-down. + J. S. and Whippoorwill 2

Cretus Posted March 28 Posted March 28 (edited) One suggestion might be the following: if someone places 411 in the title of a post they are about to press “submit” on , some function should detect this and ask them “have you checked to see if the escort has been discussed already”? Or ask “is this a 411 post”? Before allowing to press submit. Edited March 28 by Cretus Whippoorwill, Nightowl and Dicastri 3
pleasureseeker Posted April 11 Posted April 11 Still don't understand why it's so difficult for posters to just put the darn city when making an inquiry about a provider. We shouldn't need a function for that. I posted about it before so has someone else more recently and yet many posters still won't do it. But thank you, moderators, for all your efforts on everything else. This may already have been addressed, if so, I apologize, but will there ever a review forum again? skynyc Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Echoing the above...you folks are troopers, putting up with us. LOL. I agree that a default "Everywhere" for search would be great, but it's pretty easy to use the drop down...I just have to remember. thank you again. + poolboy48220 1
Dicastri Posted May 17 Posted May 17 With the continued incidence of repetitive/redundant 411 requests , I think it’s best to include something like this when starting a new post in the Deli “Is this a 411 post?” [Yes] [No] ⬇️ “Before pressing submit, search to see if it’s been discussed.” + azdr0710, 56harrisond and jackcali 1 2
