A good amount of guys on RM have popped up in searches on here, but I've also come across some guys who have been around on RM for a little while without any discussion. I've only hired about a handful of times, but each of those times I've done my research and reached out to members here that have previously seen them. I've never hired a guy without prior review but am thinking about it.

How often do you hire newer men or men without feedback here on CoM? How have those experiences been?

I used to hire masseurs without checking here and 90% of time, I had a decent experience. A few bad experiences led me to first check here. If there is no reviews here but they’ve been around for a while, I’m unlikely to hire. If they are newcomers, I do consider hiring and often will determine if I will move forward based on how good they are at communicating. If it’s not easy to communicate whilst setting up a session, I won’t take the plunge. For me the newcomers often excite me because of the unknown potential.

It's a mix. I will defiitely hire a guy that has not been metioned on here if I like their profile and interactions. But I do check up on here quite a lot. Often if I hire locally in Denver I'll go with someone unvetted. But if I am travelling I often make sure it's someone who has been mentioned on here. Not sure exactly why.

It's twofold : Those I see that haven't been mentioned on here, and then in turn I mention on here, appreciate the pickup in business. Those that have red flags galore from many people on here that warn to stay away but I end up seeing anyway ALWAYS give me donation remorse - can't say I wasn't warned!

I'm a lot more careful about unvetted new guys. Too many guys catfish, and among certain groups, catfishing is the norm.

Same here. My tastes in hiring tend toward profiles of young, smouldering hot providers who are frequently using some random model's pictures. Many of these profiles ask me to pay them a deposit.(Which i refuse to do) Later I discover from other members here that they were ghosted after paying a deposit. I am always dealing with the TGTBT realm. This site frequently keeps me out of trouble.

Reviews provide a good baseline, but ultimately, I rely on my own interactions with the provider, their ad copy, pictures, and my gut instincts.

I agree with this. I prefer to read something positive on here before trying someone new, but this isn't always possible, particularly when traveling. So once in a while I rely on the factors Apex listed above. Maybe I've just been really lucky, or maybe copy/messages/instinct really are enough, because it's worked out great for me so far! Some cities don't seem to have a stable base of highly-rated (and thoroughly discussed on here) providers, which is surprising...

I have done it plenty of times.  I prefer the new, under the radar talent.

Having said that, I am grateful CoM exists.  One of the benefits is that I have been able to stay away from red-flagged providers and frauds.  Potentially costly mistakes were avoided.

The main benefit of CoM is that I have been able to befriend, privately, other clients.  We compare notes and exchange ideas.  Thanks to that, I have hired new talent and sometimes talent that is not yet on rentmen or rentmasseur.  An example of that was the discovery of a young JustingHerringgg when he was still a personal trainer and escorting on the down low.

Honestly, I've had some very good experiences with guys who were "panned" on here.     I'm sure that some of the bad reviews here are justified in the moment.   But having met some of the guys, I think it was either a bad circumstance, poor communication, or unreasonable expectations.   But that's sheer speculation.

I agree 100%. Comparing notes and exchanging ideas, I have learned a big deal from others' experiences and knowledge of the trade.

Besides that, I had amazing experiences with guys who were not reviewed, and not so good with very popular escorts here.

Agreed, and I don't usually mention those experiences here because they've never been bad so much as not great. I think this might be due to differences in expectations, for instance I prefer a proper therapeutic-only massage to a mediocre sex-pretty-much-guaranteed massage.

I hire guys who have not been discussed here all the time and almost always have good to great experiences. Then again, I am clear and direct about what I am looking for, ask questions, and listen to the answers.

This has been my experience. One of my absolute worst hires was a guy who was revered here. (He has long since retired) There were escorts who could have been witnessed pouring gasoline on a building and lighting it and the consensus would have been "poor guy - must have been cold."  That being said, we don't see the over-the-top adulation of escorts that we did in the past. We do still see the over-the-top pillorying of escorts, which is unfortunate.

For me, the value of this forum is to gain a general sense of the provider and how he conducts himself. The presence or absence of commentary here doesn't sway my own decisions.

To answer your question... all the time. If i relied solely on input from this site, I would have missed a number of (imho) great unvetted providers. As people have mentioned sometimes the ad copy or the pre-meet interaction with the provider is enough to sell me on moving forward.

People seem to forget or don't realize that even though this site is vastly informative, most people who hire don't know it exists.

There is also not enough men (and women) on this site who are willing to participate in giving input on every new guy who shows up on Rentmen (or any other hiring site).

Lastly, even when sometimes a provider is discussed here, there isn't much information given. So one could either wait and miss out or bite the bullet and take a chance. More often than not in those cases I will take a chance.

Often, but not always, and I don't necessarily base my decision in what I read here. Sometimes what people post is based on their personal taste, not on things that I look for in a provider. I do, however, look at "themes" in what people post when there are extensive discussions on a given provider, and that can give me more information than one or two personal experiences.

I do pay attention to things like "scammed me", "left early", and things that are not very ethical or that we shouldn't expect. However, I don't always look people up here all the time.

^ I can’t emphasize your point enough.

Just because there is no info on a provider here doesn’t mean they are bad or good. It just means nobody has taken the time to go out of their way to write something publicly about a particular provider on this specific platform. Very few of you clients actually know of it and use the site with any frequency. Think of commentary here like the tip of an iceberg. For every one mention on here, that provider has seen at least hundreds of other clients. For every one of my RentMasseur reviews, for instance, I have seen at least many dozens, if not hundreds of other clients between one review and the next. The people seeing a provider and not reviewing could all be stellar experiences, or they could be more mixed. You never know. All you see is the tip of that iceberg.

I hire massages from time to time and benefit quite a bit from commentary here. I have a pretty good read on things being a masseur myself, so I don’t put too much stock in any one comment or member. I rely on my intuition more, but consistent good comments inspire me to try someone I had never considered or heard of before. It can sway me when I’m on the fence too.

I’ve spent more time in the deli section lately as a client agent doing the work of vetting and arranging new providers for clients. I try to steer clients toward the professionals with a positive track record here along with following my own gut instincts, which are usually right. The guys with no commentary have been a total toss-up. More often than not, a client will insist against my best intuition to hire a guy and he proves to be a disappointment. As clients trust my judgment more and more, they consider my opinion more valuable, and I’m more like a veto vote.

With that said, you won’t find everyone mentioned here. Plenty of CoM members have hired guys that I’ve hired but I never heard a peep about those providers from them here until after the fact when I mention them. Not every CoM client is taking the time to contribute.

Newbie providers as well as experienced professionals may lack mention here, either by chance or by design. Some providers know about the site and have asked for their threads to be taken down over the years.

So often we see a repeated “bump” in a provider thread containing no info because nobody is willing to risk time and money on a provider without a track record here. This forum is a give and take. Count the number of times you avoided a bad hire or had a great experience with a good hire because of your research on CoM. Now count how many times you contributed to threads based on your experience, especially when you were the first to “take the plunge” and share about it. If that second number is vanishingly small (or zero) compared to the first number, you should reconsider your expectations and use of the site. It only works when we all make an effort to contribute. Don’t just take. Give.

Same goes for the members who “bump” dozens of times for every one time they contribute. You are doing a lot of asking, and not a lot of answering. The site will serve everyone better when more of us take time to contribute.

You don’t need to have a binary horrible / amazing experience to write useful commentary. Sometimes middle of the road, “adequate”, “met my expectations” kinds of comments can help too. These create some sense of safety for other clients to try a provider and perhaps have better experiences than yours. Not everyone is going to have the best experience of their life with a given provider every time they meet him. That doesn’t make for a bad provider, either. It’s just realistic.

Nor does a provider have to rob or scam you to be on the worse end of the spectrum. They could go through the motions and do on paper everything you could expect they were supposed to do, and still not be that good of a provider because his focus was elsewhere or he made you feel uncomfortable or some other less tangible, objective thing. This work is not easy. Not everyone is good at it. Not every provider can knock it out of the park every single time. Experiences vary, even from one meeting to the next with the same client.

I was recently in Honolulu where the market depends on visitors (providers and clients) and so is always hit or miss. I picked six providers from their ads on RentMasseur and RentMen. I then searched C.O.M. and scratched five of the six. The comments from this site were spot on for the 5-star boy I hired. I of course don't know about the other five, but why take a chance when this site pointed out a clear winner.
