Clothes check at gay bars

I’ve often wanted to go to an underwear night at a gay bar but have always worried about checking my clothes. What do I keep with me?  And, how?  My jockstrap doesn’t have pockets!

Wear a fanny pack, but adjust it so the pack is on your hip, not blocking the meat or the buns.

This topic brings back the fond memory of the evening at the Night Shift gay porn theater on 8th Ave when I was talking to Benny the cashier at the counter he was at (we were casual friends) and a guy came in wearing a sleeveless undershirt, jeans, work boots and a hardhat.  He proceeded to take off the hardhat and his shirt, then took off his boots and jeans (revealing a jockstrap underneath).  I gave Benny a quizzical look and he told me the guy's name was Hector, and he did this whenever he went there.  Hector put his boots and hardhat back on, handed his jeans and shirt to Benny, and started to go towards the seating area.  I groped a butt cheek as he went by, and off we went...

I go to a few that are naked. But you have to wear shoes, so everyone just tucks their money in their sock. Easy.

Not saying this is standard... the gay bar in Seattle that hosts underwear and fetish nights has a clothing check.  And, to make it even better, they let local gay non-profits staff the booth and keep the fee ($3-5) and tips.

I still have a pair of socks that have zipper pockets in them. I think I bought them at a travel store, for people who were worried about pickpockets or muggers in dicey locations.

I like the sock usage approach and I'd always take my ID with me,  but limit as much as possible after.    Maybe cash needed for the evening only.

I've checked most-to-all of my clothing, including my phone and never had a problem. Sometimes, I keep my ID, card and some cash and place it inside my sneakers. I bring a minimum. Never had a problem losing belongings.

I would think if a bar has a clothes-check, they'd take necessary precautions to keep things safe. Just a couple instances of theft would give them a bad reputation, and underwear nights would cease to exist.

I would never just tuck a credit card or ID in my sock in a place where there are a lot of people down on their knees for a good reason.
