On the whole, how many clients are really that bad? Is the fear and talk of a bad client really warranted? I said in a post in the Deli I’d ask this here. It seems like it’s an ongoing concern and I’m curious just how widespread bad clients are.

I have no doubt there are clients from hell. And flakes. I’d count flakes as bad clients for this discussion. Clients who actualize and guys who never follow through – how much of your escort energy is spent on these less-than-ideal interactions?

If a client turns out to be bad, would you allow him to rehire? What makes that determination for you?

Genuinely interested...

Not an escort here, but a couple of guys I've hired in the past have told me about some of their misadventures (never disclosing anything to identify the clients)...The stories may have been embellished, but seemed like they'd be probable things that might happen to an escort.

One told me about a pretty scary situation where he had someone set up an outcall meeting, where he shows up and a woman answers the door with kids in the house behind her. The person who setup the meeting said he wanted an 'open door scene', but he had the good sense to ring the bell on arriving instead of trying the door.

Apparently someone had some dispute with her husband, and had arranged for various people including escorts, people seeking drugs, fake craigslist ads, etc to show at their house to harass them. He said the woman was very matter of fact about the situation and told him he'd been set up, it sounded like an ongoing situation, so he promptly excused himself and left.

Another was hired by a guy who lived with an animal hoarder who got very upset when he refused to enter the house.

Anyone running a small business likely can tell you about the flakes they have met. It's universal.

It isn't just small businesses. When I worked for the internet banking division of a large bank we were shocked by things people would say and do. An auditor from a regulator said in 35 years of working in bank regulation she never saw or heard the types of stuff she saw in five years examining internet-based financial institutions.

Crazy!

I would say that to determine an answer, it also boils down to your level of tolerance and personality. One client who may seem "annoying or bad" to one provider may not be considered as such for me. Over a decade of me providing services to gentlemen, I have met less than 5 people I would consider a bad / non-repeat experience, but I know of other providers who would have considered a lot more of those clients as bad ones, simply because I know how they handle certain people and certain situations.

I've been called a great client. I've been called a bad client. I have evolved from good to bad, or bad to good, in some of my longer relationships. I don't make too much of it. It's mostly about chemistry, anyway.

Shakespeare had the best response to that situation:

HAMLET - There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

no shows and time wasters are the main problem

Google voice and other texting apps has empowered them, they know they can do it and not get caught.

The percentage of no shows per city, months, etc. is hard to determine. We had a Dallas mafia but it was proven a myth by @Benjamin_Nicholas.

Many Dallas clients also didn't like the city's bad reputation, similar things have been said about Boston.

They also happen in other businesses, activities, etc.

If I were a teacher, assigning points for answering the question asked, no one here has answered the question but @peterhung85, who is an escort. I’d have to say most here get 0 or 1 out of 10 points, for not answering the question asked.

The question wasn’t “What is a bad client” or even “What kind of client is the worst,” but rather “How many clients (assuming all who reach out are clients) are bad?”

And what about clients who are not clean, who are obese, with bad teeth (or no teeth), with dermatitis, psoriasis, nail fungus and other disgusting conditions? Escorting is a hard job.

I've saying that for a long time.. with nicer words.

Escorting is not for everybody, only the good ones can make a career, save money and if they last build wealth for them and their families. I know a particular case of a local escort who has created generational wealth for decades to come for his family in Uruguay.

who are obese

While the original question wasn’t about what makes a bad client, rather how much of the potential pool is composed of bad clients according to escort opinion, I’m wondering if you classify obese clients as bad?

We all draw a line somewhere. It is up to each provider what they feel comfortable with and what the deal-breakers are.

For me it all comes down to 2 things:

- Manners

- Hygiene

...medical conditions I am fine with, as long as it is not a contagious one. Anything that doesn't jeopardize my health is fine. If it is a "cosmetic" issue on the client's behalf, it is truly not a concern of mine. So is being overweight. Connection and chemistry trumps those things.

Oh, and did you say NO TEETH? Bring that on!!!!! ?

@mike carey – a good escort makes you feel desired and appreciated despite those things, such as obesity, that society would call disgusting. There are of course certain things like hygiene and manners that, I would think, classify as dealbreakers, but on the whole I feel one of the great services an escort offers is to make those of us undesirables feel momentarily desired.
