And just so people know, I’m sure by “in mind”, doesn’t mean call them all within  the same time? Sometimes I’ve had people contact, maybe I stepped out the room without my phone and didn’t notice the message until I went to do my routine phone check (also having two separate phones is very easy for it to happen). If I reach back out and they say they’ve “called someone else” and it hasn’t even been 30 minutes to an hour, not cool.

Oh no. Not last minute like that. Reach out to the one guy you have your eyes on, set up the appointment and hopefully it works out. But yeah be prepared to reach out to 1-2 other guys if that first guy doesn't work out.

  2. I honestly think it's not a bad idea to both plan ahead and have a couple back-up choices for a last minute meet. Unfortunately, I have had several instances of providers cancelling on me last minute after I had planned in advance to meet with them while travelling. In many cases, I found some very good providers as last minute replacements.

My recommendation: Definitely plan ahead for that one guy you really have your eyes on and hopefully it'll work out. But look at maybe 2-3 other guys (particualrly if they have available now on) and just have them in mind in case you need to find a last-minute back up.

Just curious: what was it that you thought, we were supposed to think 🤔

That said, it’s good that you mentioned “masseur”, but it didn’t quite seem that way initially. Because $200 for an escort certainly isn’t “too high”.

Yeah I initially thought he was talking about an escort too and was like $200 for an escort? Damn that's a great deal for his time! Personally $200 is not super unusual for masseuers in my area although many of them provide somewhat "erotic" experiences like oral/mutual touching, etc at that price.

But other places are different. I've had some excellent massages on beds. Actually I feel like some masseurs can get a little deeper when they're kind of on top of in ways that beds provide. My guess is that this guy is also a hybrid escort/masseur and travelling with a table is a big pain. In my opinion, visiting masseurs don't often have a table unless they're on a road trip or something. Paying for parking at a hotel sucks but perhaps you can avoid it by street parking? I've often scheduled downtown visits on Sunday when street parking downtown is both free and usually more plentiful during the week. Personally don't mind a little walk if it saves me money.

Overall $200 for a really good, well-reviewed and hot masseur especially if there's "erotic" elements is a fairly normal price. I mean you can try to say that's too high but I would be suprised if the escort would budge much. If he's hot and well-reviewed, I think he would likely find clients who would pay for his services at that rate.

As a provider, I never ask for or solicit reviews, and my numbers are in that same range. My RM profile has been active since December 2015 and I've received a total of 15 reviews, which works out to about 1.8 reviews per year. I greatly value these reviews, but they've come on their own, and I appreciate it when clients want to share their experience with others. However my business model does not rely on them.

That begs the question, would I have more business if I solicited reviews? I can't answer that. But at least from the perspective of a provider who does not solicit or rely on reviews, the changes to RM's policies don't appear to have had any impacts on my business.

My sense for new guys would be that their newness would overcome any issues with having few if any reviews. Presumably they'll attract clients who don't care about reviews. But I'm just guessing.

Thanks this is helpful and interesting. I had a sense that the number of reviews is declining because of RM changes. It probably is but it also sounds like a lot of providers just don't get reviews very often. Thanks you for your perspective on this.

Can we put together all past, present and future threads on the subject of guys without RM reviews?

I was actually more curious about if the recent RM changes causing a lack of reviews is a problem for both escorts and clients knowing that it's RM that's the problem. Not necessarily for any specific escorts.

  6. Since RM made it so only paid memberships can review, the number of reviews has gone down drastically. There are new guys in Denver who go months without any reviews and many more that have only one review with profiles that have been around for nearly a year.

I'm curious if there's any newer escorts (or escorts with new RM profiles) who've struggled with getting new clients because of the lack of reviews. And to clients, do you now take the lack of reviews with an even more grain of salt than you did previously?

  7. I get reached out to a lot by escorts for return visits. I try to be pretty specfic if I can't hire them for monetary or time reasons and for the most part they still reach out to me again. In fact I will make that clear that I'd like them to reach out to me in the future particular if they are a travelling escort and most definitely do. If it's someone I genuinely don't want to meet again, I just ignore completely

I agree. I don't think most of us have anything to worry about. Obviously they are going after some high profile people with potentially repeated violations. But laws change and so do the people enforcing those laws. Good to be aware of them even if for the most part, they are not going to be enforced against hobbyists like ourselves.

  9. WWW.NYTIMES.COM

The department has a division that often directs inquiries into sex trafficking allegations, like those cited in recent lawsuits against Mr. Combs.

The recent arrest of Sean Combs is really something. He's been accussed of violating US anti-sex trafficking laws. He is accussed of hiring and paying for travel of male escorts to have sex with both male and female associates. And coercing those associates into engaging in sex with the prostitutes.

It's a bit of a lesson to any of us who hire escorts and especially if we pay for travel across state lines. The federal laws around human trafficking are somewhat ambigous and state laws often even more so. The laws say you need to engage in "force, fraud or coercion” to get someone to engage in a sex act with some courts simply interpreting that to mean "anything of value."

Not saying that P.Diddy doesn't deserve to be prosecuted. There's lots of details about using drugs and alcohol as a means of coercion so that would definitely be pretty bad.

Most of us are not nearly as high-profile as Sean Combs and probably we shouldn't be too paranoid  but with some of these new anti-trafficking laws, it might be a good idea to be a bit careful.

you contacted him on Thursday and he replied on Sunday? he couldn't grab his phone to check messages in almost 4 days? Move on...

His excuse is that he was in a remote part of Colorado and didn't have cell service. There are some parts like that, but that doesn't explain him not contating me during the week when he got caught up in "work stuff."

I agree, the moving on is happening......

  11. There are a couple new guys with ads in Denver that I am interested. But I think they perhaps do escorting as a very, very side hustle. Both guys have told me they like to "plan ahead" for meetings but then they don't get back to me in a timely manner.

Like one guy I tried contacting on Thursday to meet up last weekend only for him to get back to me on Sunday evening saying he had been skiing all weekend and just getting back into town but I should reach out to schedule something over the week. Texted Monday to do so and he just got back to me saying he got busy with "work stuff" but would be down to meet up this weekend. Should I even bother?

Meanwhile, I've had pretty good luck with guys who have the "Available Now" on their profile. Like being able to schedule something with just couple hours notice.

I don't know, it just doesn't seem to pay to plan ahead anymore. What do you all think?

How they look, their services and prices. I don’t put stock in reviews that much mainly since they’re subjective and everything in life is subjective.

Yeah and unfortunately RM reviews in particularly are not very reliable. There's been multiple recorded instances of providers being able to manipulate their star rankings in various ways. It also is kinda like Uber. Pretty much everyone has clos eto 5 stars inless they do something really bad.

Looking up an escort on here is much better. It defintely holds a lot more weight to me if COM guys have positive experiences.

I was browsing ads in a city that has a low percentage of latin people and spotted a relatively high number of latin men one evening this fall.  So, I looked across RentMen and captured some numbers and compared that to US Census Data for those same cities.

Very interesting data. Thanks for providing it. I was curious so I ran it again and now Denver has 21/89 Latin guys. So a little higher now at 23%. Another data point would be to look at guys who speak Spanish. That's actually a bit higher than "Latin" in Denver at 24/89 or 27%. A few "Latin" guys drop off and a couple more guys come up. Latin is somewhat nebulous term. One guy who comes up as a Spanish speaker but not Latin is KevinCol who puts his ethnicity as black but also says he is Colombian. Probably would be described as afro-Latino to me and probably most people. Just might be missing a few "Latin" guys based excluslively on the Latin tag on RM.

Also generally interesting that the two highest Latin population cities have the lowest number of Latin escorts. Maybe people are more interested in what isn't common?

Thanks for this data though. I find it quite interesting.

  14. I just did a whole thread on this here. But basically it's because the recent surge of migrants into the US has mostly been Venezulans (about 40% from one estimate) with Colombians, Haitians, and Central Americans being another significant percentage. About 7 million Venezuelans have emigrated from their country over the last few years with many of them first going to Colombia (where they often meet up and travel with Colombians to the US).

Because Biden granted Temporary Protected Status to about 400,000 Venezuelans who arrived here before July 31, 2023, many of these migrants can live and even work in the US legally. But many have to wait months for the bureacratic process of getting a work permit and/or they arrived after July 31st and are not able to work legally. Sex work has long been one of the few options available when there are few legal ways to work so that's why we're seeing so many Venezuelans in sex work now.

I've also noticed that there's long been quite a few Colombians and Venezuelans on OnlyFans and Chaturbate and places like that. I think they are pretty active online and so it was easy for them to figure out Rent.Men compared to maybe other migrant populations.

  15. Denver definitely has several guys that charge $250 and those are often the guys I meet more regularly. Interestingly, they are not migrants and I am not sure why they charge less except maybe that they have been doing it for longer and are in the mindset of what they charged before the pandemic?

I am not actually sure if the migrants have any effect on the prices of Denver. The ones I met all wanted $300. That's starting to be more common in Denver but yeah we have kind of a lot of guys for how small the city. Definitely if I say, oh sorry that's a bit more than I can afford right now, I very often get offered a lower price.

this thread is borderline distasteful at best.  “Migrant men” seems to imply there is some financial advantage in dealing with new arrivals.  I don’t think the OP meant it that way, but some of the subsequent comments go there.

When navigating this hobby, there’s a way to do it that offers dignity & grace to all participants.  All are human beings and worthy of your respect & kindness.  Somehow thinking there’s a financial advantage to be had is very poor form.

I appreciate this perspective and actually went back and forth with doing the thread at all for the reason you say.

I don't personally think "migrant men" implies any kind of discount. To me it's more of an acknowledgement that there are some things to consider when you are wanting to spend time with a migrant escort.

My hope more than anything is that this thread might encourage people to try spending time with a migrant escort and that they shouldn't worry as much about any potential issues. And certainly that they should pay them for what they ask. I for one never negotiate down. I always either accept or not accept the suggested donation.

Migrants are in a complex and challanging position in the US and I actually hope that those of us who are in this hobby can feel comfortable hiring these guys (if they are interested) and giving them the money they may not have many other opportunities to earn in other ways.
